The Big Island of Hawaii most popular attraction is the Hawaii Volcano National Park. When visiting the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park by car it is very easy to spend the entire day driving the Crater Rim Drive or the Chain of Craters Road in the hopes to see the many different volcanoes; but be prepared that this is rigorous and time consuming which is why so many people opt for taking a 1 to 1.5 hour helicopter tour over the Hawaii Volcano National Park. What you can expect to see on a helicopter tour over the Hawaii Volcano National Park is a diverse survey of Hawaii volcano history. You can expect to see the prehistoric spatter cone called Puu Huluhulu which is a low but steep cone located right next to Puu Oo. Puu Oo is an active volcano vent and had an active volcano pool at its center. The Kilauea Iki volcano eruption of 1959 was enormous. The Kilauea Iki eruption is one of the more famous Hawaii volcano eruptions and had lava fountains shooting over 1000 feet into the air. It is fascinating to see the remains of such a powerful volcano for the comfort of a helicopter. One of the most popular of all the sights is at the end of the Chain of Craters Road. This is where the Kilauea Volcano flows into the ocean waves and sends up plums of volcanic gas and smoke. From a helicopter this is a most impressive sight to behold. Where the Kilauea Volcano meets the sea is in the costal area district…naturally. There are four main districts in the Hawaii Volcano National Park, they are: The Upper Rift Zone, the Mauna Ulu Zone, The Hilina Pali Zone and the Coastal Zone. The Upper Rift area of the Hawaii Volcano National Park is where the road begins and has many old craters. The landscape in this area is also very lush as it receives much rain. The Mauna Ulu area is only a few miles down the road from the Upper Rift Zone but is much more sparse in vegetation because of lava flows in the mid 1970s. Also sparse in vegetation is the Hilina Pali zone which has steep cliffs caused by huge landslides. Finally the Coastal Zone is also very sparse with vegetation because of little rainfall and very recent lava flows.
Expect to be absolutely amazed at the incredible sights you will see from a helicopter tour of the Hawaii Volcano National Park area. There are so many unique land formations and volcano history that it is very difficult to encapsulate in words. The truth is you need to embark on adventure of a lifetime with Safari Helicopters over the unforgettable volcanoes of Hawaii.

The Camden Active Spaces project saw outdoor spaces in seven of Camden’s primary and secondary schools transformed by uniquely designed structures to inspire our children and young people to get moving more.
LUC met with students, parents and residents to help shape what the spaces would look like. This in-depth survey and analysis informed our designs, which included bespoke elements such as trampolines, climbing towers, nets, trails and monkey bars.

Active Assignment Weekly: Minimalism/K.I.S.S
K. I. S. S. or Keep It Simple Stupid is a phrase adopted by 12 step groups to remind themselves to keep it simple. I've adopted it for use in my own life sometimes to remind me when things get complex and out of whack to focus on whats important and leave the rest alone. For this weeks assignment, I want you to do exactly that. Choose your subject, isolate it using selective focus, colour, composition or whatever means appeals to you while keeping to the objective of minimalism.
DARE: Try to find an existing minimalism composition outdoors to photograph.
WiT: I was in Oceanside, CA while on a business trip to the San Diego area this week. I took up the Dare this week... I found this tall palm apart from many of the others. I thought it against the bright blue sky fit the assignment really well

HMS Active was a Type 21-class frigate of the Royal Navy, built by Vosper Thornycroft at Southampton, England. She was the first of the class completed with Exocet missile launchers installed in the 'B' position, located forward of the ship’s superstructure. This upgrade significantly enhanced her anti-ship capabilities compared to earlier Type 21s, which were originally designed without missile launchers.
The class was conceived during the 1960s as a fast, lightly armed frigate, built to commercial standards to reduce costs and improve speed. Vosper Thornycroft was responsible for constructing all Type 21 frigates, with the shipyard at Southampton chosen for its expertise in producing smaller warships, enabling rapid construction and delivery.
Early in her career, Active undertook a range of peacetime duties including fleet exercises, patrols, and showing the flag missions. Her wartime service during the Falklands conflict later confirmed her value in frontline operations.
Active was decommissioned and sold to Pakistan on 23 September 1994, being renamed Shah Jahan.

This assignment is so challenging but fun. I played all day with my kitty. Out of the hundreds of photos I took, only two came out the way I wanted. This is him jumping up to grab something I'm dangling in front of him.
No post process, except a white gradient to balance the white. (My kitchen floor is white). No crop.
Esmail and crew made the rounds to all the I.E. Active locations on Black Friday morning to serve hot chocolate and giveaway some free Mugs. Went to Active Rancho, Chino, Chino Hills, Corona, Temecula, and Riverside. Overall the shops did successful that day!
