Astounding Ottobre 2021 image of a nearly empty Piazetta San Marco in our travels to Venice, where normally thousands of visitors roam. As an American visiting Italy, it was amazing to see the impact of covid on tourism. We had Italy all to ourselves.

Yes, it's the smoke from an incense cone. I absolutely loved this challenge and have done many shots. This was one of my favourites because it almost looks like soft floaty fabric rather than smoke. Photographing smoke has quite captivated me. I super love learning new skills and this has been a magical experience. 😍

2 Hours in Griffis

I've had a vision for this angle for about a year, but last weekend was my first opportunity to shoot the location alone without the worry that another photographer might introduce unwanted light to my exposure. This is a blend of 2 exposures. The foreground is 30s at ISO 3200, the sky was made by utilizing the "Live Composite" feature on my camera where my equipment will continuously stack exposures for as long as I want. In this case, I shot 10s exposures at ISO 1600 for 2 hours. During that exposure, I did a little light painting of the lady as well.

The Gear: Olympus OM-D e-M1.2 with the m.Zuiko 25mm f1.2 Pro lens and the Nisi Natural Night filter to help cut down the light pollution and bring out the colors in the stars.

In Post: Initial RAW processing handled by DxO PhotoLab4 and then pushed to On1 Photo RAW 2021.5 for filter work and exposure blending.

Cuckmere Haven: arriving at the beach

Aberystwyth pier during blue hour

I was just going through old photos and thought this was worthy of being posted. I previously posted 2 other shots from this morning, but this shot is from a little earlier in the sunrise. I actually think I may like this image the best of the 3 I posted. I guess it just shows that it's always good to give your photos a second look.

The Château de Chambord in France is one of the most recognisable châteaux in the world because of its very distinctive French Renaissance architecture which blends traditional French medieval forms with classical Renaissance structures.

Hello everyone! Haven't posted here in a while. :-)

I finally found time and inspiration to finish this piece.

It’s inspired by an event that happened to me last year when I did something wrong. My wrongdoing led to a chain reaction which resulted in a few people getting hurt.

A while after it happened, when the guilt started to disappear, I came to conclusion that although I was accountable for starting the mess, everybody else involved contributed to the outcome of it.

That’s when I realized it - in human relationships, the outcome of conflicts is influenced by joined acts of everyone involved.

Fire in the sky. There is a smoky haze over Georgian Bay these days. The cause is distant fire forest fires in northern Ontario, over 1,000 km away. Sunrises are not the same. It’s tragic and beautiful at the same time. This was taken yesterday in Thornbury. This is straight out of camera just a little sharpening & contrast adjustment. I don’t use light room or photoshop.

Haven't worked much with the lichen like hue, but starting to like it :). Self-portrait. Out of Ipecac? Try levitation photography.

While Positano bustles with tourists in high season, it wasn't too busy in late October. The town's year-round population is less than 4,000 people.

So when young Fernanda, only 17, lost her life in an accident on the treacherous bends of the roads around the town, Positano was devastated. Everyone knew her or knew someone that knew her.

Stores and restaurants closed, some of them all day long, on the day of her remembrance. Hundreds of colorful balloons were released at the church celebrating her life. People wept openly in the streets, hugging and seeking hugs. Even tourists such as us got swept up in this deeply emotional day.

I dedicate this image to this young lady.

Ciao, Fernanda.
