This photo was taken in Spain in the delightful Delta de l'Ebre Park. Lovers, swimwear in the sun, and dog in a dust - all of this tells you about hot summer day which ending.
The Grebbe Line (Dutch: Grebbelinie) was a forward defence line of the Dutch Water Line, based on inundation. The Grebbe Line ran from the Grebbeberg in Rhenen northwards until the IJsselmeer..

With on air temperature of 2°C and the River Thames at 4°C, it's little wonder these wild swimmers developed a lobster-pink hue.
Twilight at the volcano with a hundred or so like-minded people taking in the show. It wasn't just the sight of the volcano, but the sound and smell that made it a once in a lifetime experience. When hearing of the eruption in Iceland in March, I immediately started researching if it was even possible to travel with all the pandemic restrictions on.
Luckily, Iceland had removed travel restrictions in early April.
It was a unique experience to visit Iceland at that time.
Tourism was way down because of COVID. It was primarily local Icelanders visiting the volcano. Everyone was extremely polite. The day spent hiking in and then staying through the night is an experience I will always treasure. Geldingadalir Volcano, Iceland, April 2021

Caught this action shot just at the right moment - a life guard running through a practice/drill on a vast an open beach, late evening, after all the punters had gone... the blue/green colours are great, with the yellow of the board standing out.

This shot started with a head of decorative cabbage that was stuffed into a flower bouquet. I had to wait a few minutes for my placed blue drops to merge.
No lens flare, recoloring or other Photoshop effect used.
One of those November mornings after heavy rain the night before, dawn pulsing in the street puddles
How quickly things can change... I thought I would be spending all autumn in the mountains, working on a mountain hut - a job I had planned my entire year for. However, after only a couple of days there they told me they had miscalculated the season and laid me off. What a lesson in impermanence. Nothing is ever certain. Still, I am grateful for the experience and trust that new doors will open instead. As they always do.

This little Lochan in Glen Etive never disappoints when the winds are light. The only downside was the hour wait to get a chink of light breaking through the clouds to light up Stob na Broige

The Árbær farm overlooking Reykjavik was operated until 1948 and is now home to an open air museum of historic buildings that have been moved to the site from elsewhere in Iceland. The farmhouse itself is in its original location amid a cluster of other farm structures including turf outbuildings. Based on archaeological evidence, the site appears to have been in use as a farm since the 10th century.
