Finishing wrapping. On my way to a friend's home to spend a few hours with their family. I hope the day has been great for all of you. Merry Christmas! :-)

Pan and Tilt helping unwrap presents.

Leftover wrapping material from past Christmases when I had places to go and gifts to wrap and fundraisers would send it free to decorate the closet.

Christmas cat. (Not mine, sadly.)

as soon as wrapping and tissue paper appear on the scene, it's guaranteed at least one or two cats will be on hand to "help"!

Taken on New Year's Eve when we were taking the ornaments off the Christmas tree. Here is Wanda enjoying the festivities. I will create a new series of pictures called the cat amusement park to showcase the rides and attractions that would work at such a venture.

Technically not my birthday until tomorrow but there's always time to feel presents before hand ;-)

Saturday Self Challenge

This week let's do a:

"Holiday Still Life"

You can use anything that represents this holiday season or just the winter/summer season itself depending on your location and belief system. :)

Post-process as you like.

A few presents (none of them for me) a couple of decorations, some bits of dried fruit and cinnamon sticks taken from the pot pourri bowl and here we have the still life, all plonked on top of our dining table. Not my favourite genre of photography, I can never seem to get it quite right.

The image has been processed, had its frame, text and a few baubles added using the iPad Photoshop Express app.

All that’s left now is to wish and my friends and contacts on Flickr, especially the SSC and Take Aim groups, a very Happy Christmas.

Take Aim: Preparation

Thank you for your visit and comments, they are greatly appreciated.

50° Star (Maria Sinayskaya)

squares, 30, 24 units, no glue

This was quite a quick and easy fold.

Not because I developed a great folding sequence though, but rather because I didn't. Constructing a 50° angle with origami methods is not an easy task. So to make things easier I just printed some reference lines on the white side of the paper and used them for a first few folds. I must say I quite enjoyed the experience:)

The model is similar to Stiletto Star, which has 45° at the tip. But unlike Stiletto this star can be connected in both ways - by wrapping flaps around pyramids and by using a hook hidden inside a pocket. The first method is easier, but the second might be useful too in some rare cases. For example, the model on the right (24-unit assembly) shows both types of connection. "Wrapping" for pyramids and "hooks" for flat fins.

The top layer of the unit can be arranged in a few other ways, I folded the one I liked the most.

Also similar to this one, but everything will align "just so" in a 50° version.

i present myself to you Lord.

now and forever.

i'm sorry for trying to run away.

i'm sorry for attempting to fill that void,

through another human.

now i know it's you.

no person can ever fully satisfy me.

no boyfriend, no best friend, no parent.

only you Lord. only you.

i will have faith in your timing. i will believe in your promises.

i'm staying in this town. in this life i've built.

because you put me here for a reason.

it's time to trust.

Happy birthday to my sister and my dad :)

I am finally using some of the vintage Christmas wrapping paper that I got at an estate sale earlier this year.

i made a dress out of wrapping paper! i wanted to do it as a tribute to my other newspaper dress photo and wrap the walls as well, but today wasn't worthy of work! i stayed in my PJs most of today, which is exactly what i needed. and its gone by so fast!

merry christmas! i hope you are all enjoying your family and company.

blogged. Due to flickr's policy please see my profile/blog for the link.

Reflecting spoons are altogether too much fun! I haven't abandoned the idea yet, my friends! Thanks so much for your patience and enthusiasm! I'm calling this reflection of Christmas wrapping paper 'Bullseye' but I was thinking of 'Tar-zhey' as a name because it reminds me so much of Target's iconic logo!!

Art: Wrapping paper - Papel de Presente. By Silviane Moon.

Concluída: 10/Fev/2.020. ✨🌙🌠🌌✨

It dawned on me earlier today that I'd not wrapped any of the gifts I'd bought, and my daughter was about to arrive!

Hasty wrappage ensued, aided and abetted by Noodles, who left fur stuck to all the Sellotape and carried off the parcel bows one by one...

Luckily. I had time to take a snap or two for my Project 365 set. ;-)
