A new version of a star from the past, this one on the right-hand side.

The world around us is a product of our thinking, light and colors are always there for those who want to see them.
Chicago Printed String Company dates its origins back to 1898 to a company founded by Aron Weiner outside Prague in what is now the Czech Republic. The business made cotton bands that surrounded hats. Weiner moved to Chicago in 1912 – 1913 and founded Chicago Printed String in 1915. Its business was now advertising tape: cotton yarn imprinted with a company name used for binding, which it called Print-Ad-String. RIBBONETTE featured material comparable to silk and satin ribbons. The company moved to what became 65,000 square feet of space at 2300 W. Logan Blvd. in 1929. By 1960, it was reported the company produced 600 million yards of decorative ribbons and 210,000 reams of wrapping paper. To show its diversification, the company changed its name to CPS Industries in 1965. Shortly thereafter, it moved its production facilities to Tennessee and, two years later, was sold to Papercraft Corporation. Faced with the wrecker’s ball, the building was saved in 2004 and currently houses a fitness center.

I put this on here large, I think it looks best big. Two things I'm no good at, keeping indoor plants alive, and wrapping presents.
PADDY and COUSIN PADDINGTON: "Hullo Scout! Happy birthday to you!"
SCOUT: "Oh thank you very much Paddy and Cousin Paddington!" *Blushes beneath woollen plush.* "This is my very first birthday EVER!"
PADDY: "Yes Scout, we know!"
SCOUT: "And its the bestest birthday ever too!"
COUSIN PADDINGTON: "Yes Scout, we know, and we are so glad that it is so special for you. It has only just started."
SCOUT: "Goodness Paddy, what is that?"
PADDY: "It's a birthday gift just for you from Daddy and me!"
SCOUT: "Goodness! How lucky I am! I get a present on my birthday. Look, even the wrapping is so beautiful! How terribly thoughtful and kind."
PADDY: "Yes it is! You should open it."
SCOUT: "Oh I'm so nervous." *Paws tremble with excitement and anticipation.*
My Paddington Bear came to live with me in London when I was two years old (many, many years ago). He was hand made by my Great Aunt and he has a chocolate coloured felt hat, the brim of which had to be pinned up by a safety pin to stop it getting in his eyes. The collar of his mackintosh is made of the same felt. He wears wellington boots made from the same red leather used to make the toggles on his mackintosh.
He has travelled with me across the world and he and I have had many adventures together over the years. He is a very precious member of my small family.
Scout was a gift to Paddy from my friend. He is a Fair Trade Bear hand knitted in Africa. His name comes from the shop my friend found him in: Scout House. He tells me that life was very different where he came from, and Paddy is helping introduce him to many new experiences. Scout catches on quickly, and has proven to be a cheeky, but very lovable member of our closely knit family.
Cousin Paddington is a recent visitor to our family. Travelling all the way from London, he was caught in transit thanks to the Coronavirus pandemic, so it looks like he is stopping with us for a while. The more I look into his happy, smiling face, the more attached I am becoming to him.
What scenery at home is complete for the holidays without wrapping paper laying around? This new item is 3 rolls of wrapping paper with individual HUDs to change each of the 3 rolls. Now, did you know that you can use more than one HUD on the wrapping paper? Say you bought Deer, Wreaths, and Stars. You can have white Deer, green Wreaths, and red Stars! Just have to buy the packages individually, cause if I made a collector HUD for it all, it would have well over 126 buttons!
To use different HUDs: just wear one, pick what you want, detach that HUD and wear the other and pick.
Only the 7 HUDs work with this Wrapping Paper set: Deer, Stars, Wreaths, Pink & Mint, Tissue Paper, Vintage, Rococo.
Each HUD is only 150L!!!

Some of these stars are folded from 1:2 rectangles and some from bronze ones.
The "bronze" version is quicker to fold but I don't like how the flap is picking out of the pocket (on the right here).
The "half-square" version has a longer flap, and cleaner look, but then the folding sequence is longer too.
The two bottom reverses are only possible with the "bronze" version.
I've diagrammed one of the variations and looking for some test-folders. Please let me know in the comments (or by email) if you're interested.
I found myself in receipt of a lovely Easter gift today wrapped in gorgeous paper. I couldn't resist doing a 'reflection in a spoon' shot as I have been meaning to do one of these with a butterfly for a long time but couldn't find one that I really liked. Shame the paper had been used and so shows some wear and tear but I do like the butterfly bokeh that I got.
Eva: Hey Dave, Merry Christmas.
Dave: Merry Christmas to you too Eva.
Eva: Remember those sweet potato biscuits that Santa brought me?
Dave: I believe he brought those for all of the puppies in the house.
Eva: Nope. Not quite. I get first dibs on anything that Santa brings. It's part of the Christmas code.
Dave: The Christmas code? Is this the code where the one with the craziest ear hairs gets to have whatever they want?
Eva: Dude, that's not the code. It is right in the name of the holiday.
Dave: I'm not following you.
Eva: It's the day that Santa flies. Christmas Eve, which code for Christmas Eva, which is code for me getting dibs on the cookies. So, can you break them out and lets get this Christmas Eva party started!
I had not previously really noticed this growing collection of florist's bouquet wrapping. My wife likes to save them - her odd habit has allowed my odd photographic habit an ideal subject to test out a "new" ancient lens.
Normally when I'm looking for cheap wrapping paper, all I find is ugly and bad quality paper. But not this year! Finally! This was cheap and quite the opposite of ugly. I love it!

No big, shiny, blinking group images or invites please. They will be deleted. Only neat petit invite will be accepted. Sorry for being so harsh, but they clutter up the view and I hate them! Thank you for your cooperation ;)
Recently I sent a travel journal to my son-in-law to put in his new RV, with hope my granddaughters will be encouraged to record some adventures along the way. I was able to find a New England map which I used for wrapping paper! Our area of Stonington (near Mystic Seaport), can be found in the lower left hand grid. Our actual home is right on the border of Westerly, Rhode Island, a lovely quaint little town.
note: I JUST realized that the tag with the scooter queen wasn't intentionally sent because my S-I-L also owns a scooter store! dododododo, dododododo!

These were test folds made with test paper... but then I thought they turned out good enough and I didn't feel like refolding them :)
