I had some wasted ceiling space in a closet as well as a need to organize wrapping paper, so I put together this storage solution. It's only 4 anchors and screws and some galvanized wire. Before this, I had tried 3M decorating clips and thread, but it wasn't strong enough to hold this much weight. Step back. See this set.
Paperchase have brought out some London-themed Christmas gift wrap this year, and given that 2014 is the Year of the Bus, it's something special. :)

Many thanks for every kind comment, fave, your words of encouragement, and the inspiration of your fine photography,
my friends! You make my day every day!
PERFECTLY AGED
Took some wine, hors d'oeuvres and paper plates to a friends in celebration of being together for the first time in over a year
and a half!
Just like old times, but still with a bit of trepidation, even though they were both vaccinated. Still so much unknown.
Be safe, everyone.
New product at my shop! I've made a paper wreath out of old wrapping paper! Great to decorate your home during the holidays!

My first hand-made Christbmas card for 2017. With Japanese origami doll.
Materials; Card stocks;background print from GraphicStock; kimono (yuzen washi); obi (wrapping paper); viscose string on obi; hair decor (paper scrap strip and Indian "bindi").
Size: 15 cm x 10.5 cm
Doll height: 9.3 cm
We even used HP wrapping paper for gifts under the tree. Thank goodness the gold paper her dad used blended in nicely.
On a side note: this is why we usually travel at Christmas....we go a bit overboard if we buy gifts for each other. When we do travel, I always make sure Lindsey has something small to open on Christmas morning, but otherwise we forgo the gifts and just experience the moments.
"I'm gonna wrap myself in paper
I'm gonna daub myself with glue
Stick some stamps on the top of my head
I'm gonna mail myself to you
I'm gonna tie me in a little red string
I'm gonna tie blue ribbons too
Climb up into my mailbox
I'm gonna mail myself to you
When you find me in your mailbox
Cut the string and let me out
Wash the glue off of my fingers
Stick some bubble gum in my mouth
Take me out of my wrapping paper
Wash the stamps off of my head
Pour me full of some ice cream soda
Tuck me into a nice warm bed"

This post came about all because I needed a *box* to mail some very old diaries from a Great Great Aunt up to my sister
in New Hampshire.
When I went searching in the garage, I came across the most wonderfully sturdy container which was perfect for my purpose! Attached to the outside were these fabulous stamps which I couldn't bare to remove, so carefully covered them in cellophane and added another layer of removable stock so my sister could have an added surprise on the outside as well as on the inside!
I especially love that I was able to repurpose the box in such a fun way, and that it had originally come to me from a dear flickr friend!
Another scrap from my favorite estate sale box of wrapping paper. There is no date on this, but I love the happy Santa face.
Sunday was my birthday! yay! I am officially 27 now. :) I spent the day hanging out with my family, and it was nice and relaxing. :) My mom picked up this really awesome red velvet ice cream cake from cold stone, so of course I had to take pictures of it. :) Thanks to my mom for being my human light stand!
This is also my first shot with my new second flash, that I got for christmas/my birthday. It's going to be fun, I can tell already!

Macro Monday 05/02.
Paper - I kept this wrapping paper from Christmas because I really liked the Rotterdam themed icons and text that was printed on it.
Looking at the CP of Rhombic Flowers (Eric Gjerde), you can detect three molecules, so I folded them on a small grid 1:32 and then you get different images. They are all folded from white glassine, but to give the faces some color, I used two sheet of different color as background. See other face here and here. And the star here. Which one do you like ?
I also tried to fold it with colored paper, but got a bit 'crazy' of the pattern-lines, so I stopped. It still remains a interesting figure though, it's my variation of Rhombic Flowers by Eric Gjerde.
Sophie in Simon's birthday wrappings .... a quiet moment for her, she has been up and down that tree behind her like a fiddler's elbow, she can in fact dislodge the angel and fling it across the room, it's not a tree at all, it's a cat activity centre !
It was my bosses birthday today and she was celebrating a milestone birthday and so we all chipped in for a present. I was put in charge of buying and wrapping and look what colour the wrapping just happened to be.
Could not chose between these two.
he just sat and sat while we draped him in paper, etc, he seemed quite happy to just sit and then lie, he was there in the middle of the room for hours!!
This paper is very thin
The package sold for 10 cents
Made in USA (how often do you see that these days?)
What is it?
Since joining Flickr a few years back and even more recently, since starting my 365 project, I have developed so many really special contacts and friendships.
I'm so very grateful for the wonderful and often detailed comments I receive from so many of you, each and every day. You are all responsible for putting a smile on my face every day!
One of the things that has touched me most are the wonderful endearments I have received from so many of you, with regard to my 'red project. The messages, thoughts of red (and of myself), as you go about your day, and the dedicated and inspired images and posts, all of which I am so very grateful for, and so delighted by each and every time.
The other day I received a message from one of my dear Flickr friends. I would love to mention her name here, but she may prefer to remain annoymous . . . but my wonderful friend you know who you are :)
While out shopping with her husband recently, they had come across something and thought of me straight away and said 'I simply must have it' . . . I was so incredibly touched. Just the message alone made my day and has made me smile ever since.
Not only that, but to think that someone I have never personally met was thinking of me and thought enough of me to actually purchase the item and send it to me. Such a beautiful thought and even more beautiful gesture :)
When I told the story to a friend the other day she was absolutely blown away . . . she said she loved hearing stories like this one because it resorted her faith in the world and human kind.
This special gift arrived via snail mail today . . . wrapped beautifully in red! It just had to be my photo of the day. Thank you so much my dear Flickr friend . . . beautiful people with big and beautiful hearts.
Now for what is it . . . well for the answer to that, you will have to tune in tomorrow folks!
Speaking of hearts . . . my heart and thoughts go out to Kat tonight too as she faces an extremely tough day tomorrow. Sending lots of big hugs your way Kat. You are in my heart and my thoughts :)
Apologies also if I didn't get to your stream today . . . it's 12.28am as I write this so will catch up tomorrow and over the weekend :)
Instead of counting sheep
while trying to fall asleep,
I scroll through my phone
so don't feel all alone!
before I can count to three
images appear before me
so up they soar
from one to four!
Enjoy!
PADDY: "Thank you very much for my wonderful hand-made birthday card and thoughtful presents! I love them, and feel very special and very spoiled. This makes it a very special birthday indeed!"
SCOUT: "Can we eat one of these chocolate teddy bear lollipops now Paddy? Grumbly tummy Paddy! Grumbly tummy Daddy!" *Rubs tummy vigorously.*
PADDY: "Hullo everyone! Do you know what? Bears have two birthdays. Do you know what else? Today is one of my birthdays! And do you know what else? Today is my Daddy's birthday too! Isn't that a wonderful coincidence!"
My Paddington Bear came to live with me in London when I was two years old (many, many years ago). He was hand made by my Great Aunt and he has a chocolate coloured felt hat, the brim of which had to be pinned up by a safety pin to stop it getting in his eyes. The collar of his mackintosh is made of the same felt. He wears wellington boots made from the same red leather used to make the toggles on his mackintosh.
He has travelled with me across the world and he and I have had many adventures together over the years. He is a very precious member of my small family.
Scout is a recent addition to our little family. He was a gift to Paddy from my friend. He is a Fair Trade Bear hand knitted in Africa. His name comes from the shop my friend found him in: Scout House. He tells me that life was very different where he came from, and Paddy is helping introduce him to many new experiences. Scout catches on quickly, and has proven to be a cheeky, but very lovable member of our closely knit family.
SCOUT: "WOW! Look! It's a beautiful beret! How wonderful! I feel so special!"
COUSIN PADDINGTON: "So you should Scout! It's your birthday!"
PADDY: "Look at the beautiful houndstooth it is made from and the pretty golden button on the top! It has a crest on it! You will feel very regal when you wear it!"
SCOUT: "Oh I will!" *Blushes pink beneath woollen plush.* "Thank you so much Paddy! Thank you so much Daddy!"
PADDY and DADDY: "You are very welcome birthday bear Scout!"

Cousin Paddington is a recent visitor to our family. Travelling all the way from London, he was caught in transit thanks to the Coronavirus pandemic, so it looks like he is stopping with us for a while. The more I look into his happy, smiling face, the more attached I am becoming to him.
It was my birthday yesterday, and one of my presents came in a reflective foil wrapping paper, which gave some very nice bokeh effects, will definitely go in my big box of photography odds-and-sods for use at a later date.
It's Christmas time, which means that Sinatra comes out of her yearly hibernation to snap a Christmas photo for all of my Flickr friends.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you! Thank you for making 2014 so very special.
On a side note, I feel like I nailed the lighting for this shot! Maybe it was the white paper giving me a white balance, but dang! Dis' gurl looks fine!

Reflecting spoons are altogether too much fun! You're going to see still more of them, my friends! I'd been looking for something big enough to fold or curl up behind the spoons. Here is a spoon and two forks lined up on some Christmas wrapping paper, proudly toeing the lines!!
