I finally finished my Christmas shopping! Okay fine, not really because I still need to shop for my Secret Santa...but family-wise, I'm done!

It's my first year having a job during the holidays and having a job comes with money so I was able to buy presents this year! :) It's 3:40am right now and I'm going to put these gifts under our fake little sparkling Christmas tree so my family can discover them when they wake up in the morning.

Giving a gift is really something special. The thoughts put into each one, the effort of wrapping them (somewhat) nicely, and then finally, the expression on the person's face when they rip apart the wrapping paper and discover what is inside. The feeling is really unexplainable.

Anyway, we don't have any more Christmas wrapping paper at home...so I used this one. I'm guessing it's supposed to be for birthdays because there's the birthday hat....but it doesn't have any wording on it so it will do for Christmas :)

Included in this holiday recap, gifts wrapped in a non-traditional Christmas color palette.... because doesn't 2020 qualify as a non-traditional year? Ombre twine by Paperuli made from discarded paper. www.allthingspaper.net/2021/01/holiday-recap-with-paper-i...

I love this paper. The coloring and composition just appeal to me. I guess that it could be used for any number of occasions. I can picture a bridal shower, birthday or lovely Victorian / sugary Christmas gift as well.

A collection of wrapping paper and packing from the 1960s.

I found some amazing 60's/70's wrapping paper at an estate sale. Some of it came in this box which is also pretty cool.

I love the vintage wedding dress on this paper, along with the soft pink coloring.

Chic in black and white, choose Hannah wrap for the trendsetter.

Available in an oversized 24” x 36” sheet with a silk finish for an ultra-luxurious feel. Printed on 80# text weight paper- which is the thickest paper available that does not crack when creased. This design was created by yours truly!

Shipped rolled in a tube mailer which prevents damage during delivery and works as a handy paper storage tool for you!

I had the idea to save money on gift wrap this year by using plain butcher paper and jute cord, giving it a vintage postal sort of look, but as I did my first one, I started thinking....and immediately ran to the store to buy paint, tape, gold brads, and a ton of antique travel stickers and tags. I turned them into steamer trunks! LOVE IT. This was my prototype so it was a little messy, but it got better as I went along. :)

We celebrated my parents' 50th wedding anniversary in 2006. We had a family celebration that lasted all weekend long, and we had a lot of fun. We took a road trip, enjoyed great food, ate white chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting, had special gold and white M&Ms printed up for the occasion and just enjoyed being with each other.

However, we had a hard time coming up with a gift ... you know ... something special that they didn't have and would really enjoy. Finding the perfect present eluded us ... for two and a half years! Yes, you heard that right.

We finally decided on a digital photo frame. We purchased it, wrapped it up and delivered it last night. It ended up being a great choice. We celebrated a little more, ate a great homemade dessert that Mother made and started the photo uploading process.

So far we have managed to import one photo into their new frame. That seemingly simple task ended up being a little more complicated that we had anticipated because most of the photos displayed as a white question mark on a black background. The problem apparently has something to do with how they were saved in Adobe Photoshop.

So, the anniversary continues. And that's a good thing. It will give us another chance to get together and celebrate. Since there aren't any rules about when you're supposed to stop celebrating an anniversary, this could go on for a long time.

The card we got matches the event perfectly. On the outside it says, "To be continued ...". On the inside it says, "... forever. Happy Anniversary!"

Now I've just got to figure out how to get those photos in a format where they'll display properly in the frame. They're going to get tired of looking at that one picture of the snowman puzzle pretty fast!

FYI: The paper on the gift came from The Container Store (It's actually Christmas giftwrap, but the Christmas part is so subtle that you'd never know that if I hadn't just told you). I bought the patterned double-sided satin ribbon at Michael's.

This is an elegant little paper gift box complete sheer white ribbon. The box and lid have been hand folded. The bottom has a beautiful victorian print and the top is printed with clips from wedding vows. ('To have and to hold', 'Always and Forever', and 'From this day forward'.) The box measures 3" x 3" x 1.5".

as you can see there is no string.

one of the many gifts I've wrapped for Christmas so far. This one using paper from a Conde Nast Traveler magazine.

I had so much fun sitting down with a little mulled wine to wrap presents this year!

More from the amazing estate sale stash. Love these kids and just wish it wasn't so pieced together.

Yesterday is history.

Tomorrow is a mystery.

Today is a gift.

That is why they call it the present.
