Our Daily Challenge ... bargain.
My great neice Shaila is turning seven. I bought her a selection of pretty little "girly goodies". I started with the slippers which were a bargain ... not only are they her favourite colour but they are sprinkled with glitter AND they were reduced for a second time (winter is half over) from $8 to $2. I then went to 'Harry's Bargains' and got beads, string, fairy, Thumbelina stickers, wrapping paper, rosette and card. I hope she likes them!

I think my parents' way of telling us that Santa wasn't real was to put the presents out weeks in advance.
There were years I wouldn’t take our tree or decorations down until late February as I loved the afterglow and calmness of the lingering warmth, light and LOVE of the spirit of giving and sharing during the holiday season. Times have changed and I find I need to pack away all the *red* and celebrate the green. The four seasons are something I treasure about living in New England. But now the weather patterns are changing so rapidly I’m wondering if it’s just my age or the speed at which life seems to be moving so quickly, affecting our lives like never before? Well, we still have Valentine’s Day to bring out some more RED! And now we may soon be covered with white snow to calm us down again amongst the storms which are frequenting and circulating our earth. Hanging onto the peace and memories of old-fashioned times gone by. Wherever you are in the world, may you be experiencing the joys of color which can really affect our senses.
I was rummaging through my Mom's stack of wrapping paper when I came across this CUTE teddy bear paper...had to upload a picture of it! XD
I tried the right foot - it fitted perfectly.
I unwrapped the second and noticed the motif was on the wrong side of the slipper.......

I recently bought this copy of Harvest Moon 64 from an Internet pal. Along with the cart, he sent a few additional surprises, three of which can be seen in this photo. What a nice guy, right? This is a great Christmas tradition. We unwrap our parcels together, and put all the wrapping paper in a big heap in the middle. Then everyone grabs a pair of scissors and some Sellotape, and we all make ourselves hats.

I wanted to document our apartment setup so I turned all the lights off except those on the Christmas tree and generated an HDR which I promptly tonemapped. My wife made that banner overhead during her snowday on Monday (I was/am jealous).
Emmanuel is Hebrew for "God [is] with us". As a Christian, it's vital to remind yourself of why you're celebrating Christmas and the fewer cheesy phrases you can use, the better! I find this word has helped me out so I thought I'd pass it along.
