Whoever painted the edges of those leaves did a pretty poor job. There are drips everywhere!

I think Christmas morning is the day looked forward to all year the most by our cockatoo Moe. We don't encourage nesting behaviour in him (and he's 42 years old now) as he becomes an absolute toerag of a bird.

However, since it's Christmas we lighten up a bit and let him go silly in the wrapping paper. We bring in a bin from outside and throw the paper in there. He just goes nuts for it.

This year the bin was a bit grotty - that's why he looks filthy in these shots.

He totally exhausted himself after this. It was quite funny actually.

With scoring a variety of wrapping paper and using a circle cutter with various scrapbook pages, I created a collage of paper medallions of various sizes as a blue wedding themed decoration to cover this large bare wall. To give added ambiance, I also strung cool white LED lights for a back-lit effect.

the background is a pale blue wrapping paper.

I do not eat seafood. I have tried several different fishes and shrimps and whatnot, I just don't care for it at all. It's a texture thing. *shrugs shoulders* I woke up this morning and got ready to go to my WW meeting. I have been very frustrated with my progress lately. I have gained 0.4 for two weeks in a row. Yes, I know that I didn't even gain a pound, but I had been going for 10-11 weeks with no gain whatsoever. So I was disappointed in myself. I stepped it up this week with exercise. I know that the two must go hand in hand in order for me to have any kind of long-term success. Fast forward to this morning. I lost 3.8 pounds this week. That makes 28.4 overall. Woo hoo! I feel better, I sleep better, I am proud of myself. The only negative thus far? My clothes are getting loose. Boo hoo, right? Well, I have a closet full of clothes that I adore. I suppose there could be worse things. After my meeting, I came home, took wrapping paper photos, cleaned the kitchen, loaded the Durango up with food and headed over to my sister's house for a family reunion. I saw family members that I haven't seen in forever and a day. It was a really good day. I hope that you had a good day, too.

This is my photo for May 2, 2009.

This is towards the end when we start working on the cover.

I have a dark secret. I enjoy wrapping presents far too much. I tend to get a bit too involved in the process, spending a bit too much time trying to create a ribbon rather than using one ready made. But my thought is that if I wow them with the exterior, the entire gift receiving process will be memorable from start to finish.

This is a collage of my latest creations for the Secret Santa gift exchange at work. Since the big reveal is tomorrow I don't have to worry about anyone recognizing my wrapping style. However, if anyone at work really knew me they would have been able to recognize my presents a mile away. If I'm not using traditional paper, I usually try to find a series of images from magazines that I think are all linked thematically. That way the present kind of tells a story no matter which way you turn it.

Like I said, I get a bit too involved with the whole process. But it's all in the spirit of Christmahannukwanzaa and generosity.

This was a DIY for Earth Day on how to recycle and reuse gift wrap and tissue papers to line envelopes... for the how-to and a video with more pictures too visit the blog post: www.gavethat.com/2011/04/reusing-gift-wrap.html

the colors in this photo didn't turn out all that great; it's really light blue and red.

Today I got together with my friend Victoria to discuss some wedding/engagement plans, so I figured while we were hanging out why not do a shoot? We ended up going to the dollar store to get some things for the shoot. (ie. the background in this photo) We just played around a bit, and got some cute shots. This was one of my favorites.

I absolutely loved the kraft wrapping paper I got from Cost Plus World Market this year. It features happy winter scenes with deer, gnomes, owls and trees and it is insanely cute.

The pile of wrapping paper in the middle of the room. This is before we were entirely finished, but right after I got my digital camera.
