It's a thick-thin yarn with lots of hand-dyed wool and mohair colors with black alpaca. 2.4 oz 108 yards. I couldn't decide what kind of yarn to spin, so I took a little bit of everything!

This yarn has a "bead chain" thick/thin variation, but looks and feels like very soft felt. The spinning was done for us by a family mill in Italy. We do the dyework ourselves in Northern California.

Here's what we say about it on our website (www.artfibers.com):

Wool 70% Alpaca 30%

17 stitches X 23 rows = 4"/10cm on US #9 needles

2.20 yards per gram

100.00 yards required for one square foot (knit to gauge in stockinette)

The strand seems to be made from felted beads, very soft and somehow reassuring -- a bit like the traditional Mongolian round shelter, made from felt, the YURT. This yarn has a very pleasing hand, in perfect weight for any cool weather garment. YURT also seems like the perfect start for an inventive felted expression.

Price per yard dyed: $0.08

Price per yard undyed: $0.06

The first skeins of yarn that I have made since I first learned to spin many years ago. My focus has been on weaving - but I had fun spinning this yarn.

A combination of wool-mohair, alpaca-wool and angora-wool blends. The multi-colour yarn will end up as socks, unclear about the other three skeins, but the whole thing was a kit. I just loved the colour on the bottom.

This wool was hand spun by me!!! Thick and single ply. Natural color, great for felting!

Knitted in pure Shetland wool. I love the color combination- I have always been crazy for red, but the brown and olive makes a great contrast.

This is the rest of the wool I used in the bulky skein, only when I started on this portion it wanted to be spun a lot finer. A very fun exercise, and now I have two companion yarns!

20.5 yards of sheep's wool (not sure what, but it's nearly as soft as merino) not dyed by me in a range of maroons. Spun and then plied into a two-ply yarn on my Golding drop spindle.
