I'm knitting new hats with this beautiful wool
From left to right:
black heather, chocolate, black and sheep sorrel
this is my second skein from those batts i found at the thrift store. this one was mostly done as a demo at the thesis show opening. i think there's enough left for at least one more skein.
The lovely Anna sent me this yarn as a surprise!
Color accurate.
The left is 50% Yak, 50% Wool.
The right is, likely, Crystal Palace Panda Cotton in the Faded Jeans colorway.
200 yards of navajo 3ply. It's dk weight. I blended this fibre on my louet drum carder. This turned out very even.
So excited! I'm not sure what to make out of it yet...But I'm sure I'll make tons of cute stuff out of it~
I got the wool from:
www.etsy.com/shop/1127handcrafter?section_id=14197826&...
From top to bottom: Philosopher's Wool, Belle Vallee (I think), overdyed Belle Vallee (from natural gray to green), Peace Fleece, and Philosopher's Wool.
The foundation chain is 178 stitches (which is approximately my arm span), the yarn are all worsted weight yarns. The hook is 5.5mm. The pattern is from: home.att.net/~susanBinKC/patterns/ripple.html
This rose colored wool is gorgeous and lightly heathered. Good for a sweater. www.ravelry.com/people/Goddessof7s/stash/regal
This jumble here is bulky weight singles yarn spun from mixed wools all hand-dyed in my kitchen. 4.1 oz, 159 yards.
I was attempting something that alternated between rich jewel colors and neutral, earthy tones.
Cast on 48 stitches (7 st/in), did 2 inches of 2x2 ribbing, then switched to stockinette for 4 1/2 inches. Used half of stitches (24) for heel flapl. Foot is 8 inches before starting toe decreases.
(Followed general sock techniques from Kelley’s Sock Class on youtube)
This is pretty much my favorite sock yarn of all time. Cushy, soft, beautiful colorways and self-striping patterns… I love this stuff!
a blend of natural wool and Idaho alpaca spun with hand-dyed blue mill ends into a worsted-eight single yarn. While spinning, I put in some bright white shiny sari silk here and there for texture and interest.
another hat, knit from the shell pattern from knitting vintage socks. the yarn is louisa harding grace, which is a lovely silk/wool blend, but is already pilling a bit.
this one is for my other great aunt.
My own blend of shetland and border leicester and "wool" rovings, silk (tussah and silk caps), angora (white and dyed green)
