Distinctive Embraer E-Jet winglet. Onboard a British Airways Embraer E170 from London City Airport to Edinburgh at 30000feet.
Taking off from Bangkok's Don Muang Airport as FD3223 operated by A320 with the winglets. Thai Air Asia at this point is the only Thai air carrier flying this type of jet. Her winglets look like those of B737-800 when being seen from this angle.
So here's that same photo cropped to 3:2 aspect ratio- just toss out the 1/4 image at either end and here's a 3:2 image where we had 3:4. Not bad looking. I'm going to save this and try a few more...

I only managed to get one shot right and I got the strobe light refecting on the winglet as a bonus. Stunning view at 35000ft!
Closer look at the simple stripes on the winglets. This is the one 737 that AA painted in the retrojet colors. They also did a 757, but that was later repainted for some reason.
The landing and navigation lights are pretty crisp. I like the grain/pixel texture- its like mosaic tiles.

This 737 "NG" features the Aviation Partners Boeing (APB) split-scimitar winglets. The split-scimitar design appears to derive from APB's retrofit winglet design for Classic and NG 737s, with a modified upper tip and the second, downward pointing, airfoil.
Boeing's own 737 MAX has a straight-edged split winglet design with both the upward and downward airfoils closer to horizontal. Instead of APB's nearly vertical upper fin. Boeing's 737 solution is more like the 747-400, A-330 or Embraer 175's, slanted wingtip

Air Baltic Boeing 737-548 YL-BBG is climbing out of runway 07L.
c/n 24919 (l/n 1970) has had its first flight on 07.12.90 and was delivered to Aer Lingus on 19.12.90 with the registration EI-BXF. On 27.05.91 it was re-registered to EI-CDB. On 17.12.04 it was leased to Air Baltic. The blended winglets were applied in late 2009.
This is flight BT242 to Riga (RIX).
