On April 3, 2014, I saw this KLM Boeing 747-400 on final approach to runway 25L at LAX minus the port side winglet. I wonder how often these winglets are lost mid-flight, and whether there are any problems flying in this condition?
Happy Winglet Wednesday from Robyn on our Airports head office team. Any guesses which city this is departing from?
Captured this shortly after 1700 local time when I left the Museum of Flight with the sun to my 1 o'clock. Sure makes for a striking picture, eh?
