HISTORY UPDATED - Stored at Roswell, NM, USA.
Now fitted with 'Scimitar' winglets (as opposed to 'Split Scimitar' winglets like the B737NG... these are just the top half), note the pointed tip.
Named: "Grabrok".
First flown with the Boeing test registration N1795B, this aircraft was delivered to Iberia as EC-GZY in Apr-99. It was sold on delivery to Babcock & Brown Aircraft Management and leased back to Iberia. It was returned to BBAM in Jul-04 and entered short-term storage at Madrid, Spain until it was leased to VARIG Brasil as PP-VTQ in Sep-04. The aircraft was returned to BBAM in Jul-06 and was stored at Miami, FL, usa. It was sold to ILFC International Lease Finance Corporation as N241LF the following month. In Nov-06 it was transferred to ILFC Ireland Ltd as EI-DUA and was leased to Air Union/Kras Air (Russia) in Dec-06. It was returned to ILFC Ireland in Mar-09 and stored at Miami in May-09. The aircraft was leased to I-Fly (Russia) in Dec-09 and returned to ILFC in Sep-15. It was leased to Icelandair in Oct-15 and was fitted with blended winglets in Nov-15 prior to service entry. It was recently fitted (Nov-16) with new 'Scimitar' winglets as noted above. The aircraft was stored at Roswell, NM, USA (via Kelowna, BC, Canada and Denver) in Nov-20, possibly for lease return. Stored, updated (Nov-20).

Jet2 737-330 G-CELH, Manchester, 5 Jan 2015. This 737 is 28 years old, having originally been delivered to Lufthansa as D-ABXD in 1986, and apparently still going strong. Also the first time I've seen a 737-300 with winglets and with the eyebrow windows plugged.
These are newly designed winglets that are being applied to the Boeing 737 NG and future 737 MAX aircraft. They are basically split winglets similar to but more advanced in design than those on the MD-11, A300/310 and A320 family. The goal of winglets is to reduce aircraft drag and make the plane more fuel efficient.

A Delta Boeing 757-200 (sports charter and without winglets) taking off at LAX. 757s are now installed with winglets so this is pretty rare! January 24, 2025

Cruising.. staring at this distinctive winglet... there's a bit of a zen experience in doing this.. all is well in the universe.
Thought I'd do some selective desaturation for all but the winglet as the 737-900ER landing for maximum artistic effect. Hope I did good...
