One heck of a substorm was in progress when I scrambled out of the truck and setup the camera...near Tigerton, WI on September 1, 2016. To put this display in perspective, this was shot at 11mm and you see it here with no cropping...

Tail fin and winglet of US Airways Airbus A330-323X N272AY which is climbing out of runway 07L.
MSN 333 has had its first flight on 06.04.00 with the test registration F-WWKT and was delivered to US Airways on 04.05.00 (leased WFBN) with the registration N672UW. It was re-registered with US Airways as N272AY on 11.10.06.
Since January 15, 2009 and the spectacular crash landing of N106US (Airbus A320-200) in the Hudson River, New York, I see these tail fins with another view. Congratulations to the flight crew - especially to the pilot Chesley Burnett Sullenberger who managed to bring down the jet in one piece and without the loss of a soul!

A Martinair Md-11 on short final for runway 06 during a very humid morning. The MD-11 is the airliner that is most likely to create these sort of scenes. That is a result of it's very large flaps sections and winglets
