Pier In The Storm...
a few years back we took a day trip from Mississauga following the Lake shore all the way through Oakville and into Burlington.
We took this shot of the Brant Street Pier, that day it was extremely overcast and grey with the occasional hint of blue sky.

The Trees Of Autumn..
Two weeks ago was the perfect time to get out and take fall colour shots, Karen and I Started our hike at the south end of the park, the trees are stately and tall with a winding foot path that leads you deep into the expanse of the woods and nature trail hidden within its leafy canopy.
This shot along the trail has many birch trees which stand out white against the yellow and reds of the other trees, it is absolutely breathtaking this tome of year.

The White Woods...
A heavy snow fell early March 2019 covering everything with a thick layer of fresh fluffy white snow. We got up early and headed to the park where we found ourselves in a scene from the movie Narnia; snow was falling from the branches above every time the wind blew. at times it was as if it was still snowing... with so much snow falling from the heavy laden branches overhead.

wish we could see such beautiful yummy eggyolk when we visit Penang again.
Uncle Alan and Ken, this image's really for the both of you, most of our contacts have seen this:-)

Sunny winter Sundays, there are no boats at the jetties of the Tutzing Yacht club, still to early.
The only boats on the lake Starnberg are rowing boots from the rowing club around the lake.
Museumsschiff Tutzing to the left is not used for boating anymore it's stationary.
Feel free to leave comments and constructive feedback. No P1/C1 or seen in group and similar.
Into The Sunset....
The sunset in September last year was subdued due to the smoke that was in the atmosphere; caused by the US west coast fires.
The idea that this cloud of smoke has drifted over 3000 miles to affect our sunset boggles the mind, even as i try to grasp the scope of just how big these fires really are.
We have friends in California and Oregon and pray for their safety and the safety of all those affected.
This image was taken at the Brampton Flying Club in Beautiful Caledon, the Brampton airport is the busiest private club in Canada and was quite busy that night as planes were taking off every few minuets. this particular plane was headed directly into the sunset.

Drifted...
The sun was diffused by some pretty thick cloud coverage; there were gaps in the sky that allowed the sun to spill its glorious light all over the landscape. the firmament was a translucent blue with patches of white and grey mixed in for effect.
The water on the surface of the lake was at a dead calm, with only the slightest ripples disturbing its glassy surface. Washed up on the shore a large piece of driftwood stranded until the next storm washes it back into the pale blue lake.

Missing the Fall
October has come and gone and with it the wonderful vibrant colours of fall. now where the once glowing gold and yellow leaves once were are bare dull gray branches. this photo is a reminder fo what was to those of us who long for spring to arrive.

Tall Trees..
Today was get out and take fall colour shots day, Karen and I made our way to the back side of heart lake conservation area; which is least visited, in attempt to avoid the massive crowds that are also out for a walk in the fall colours.
Along one part of the trail, the forest is mostly tall pines and other fir trees, with spruce, birch and maples along the outer edges. This shot of a steep section of the trail, was lit with bright yellow reflections from the maples on the outer edges of the stand giving this image an otherworldly glow.

October Sunset...
In October of 2019 Karen and I made our way to the Heart Lake Conservation Area; The fall is a fickle time. some years the leaves changing colours are okay and others they don't change much at al, some years they last for a long time, others a sudden storm and strong winds and its all over.
This was probably the last weekend for shooting fall colours in southern Ontario, the colour display is off the charts, so may varied shades of red, yellow and burnt orange.
The forest was alive with so many yellows, reds, gold and greens that it created a dazzling mosaic of colour.

Snow Fence...
from the archives.
in March 2019 we had a late snow storm that covered everything in a white powder that was light and fluffy, just like spring snow should be.
In the park the snow has been blowing like sand dunes in the desert. leaving drifts everywhere, after a lull in the storm we headed out for a hike and the thick fresh layer of snow sparkled against the first sun we have seen in days.
I shot this through the chain link fence at the parks entrance.

I haven't seen snow like this in the last three years.... so I have to have my fill with this white!!!
Sorry if I overload with snow images, but to me, it's so magical!!
We planted this tree as a little twig many, many years ago... it sits proudly over our pond.
Credit River...
Yesterday we spent a day exploring The Credit river as it flows south from Cataract Falls to Brimstone;
This S bend in the river is quite beautiful as the river takes a sharp right then a quick left to continue its meaneder down to the forks of the credit at Belfountain.

Sunset Lake.....
this shot of an evening sunset at Heart Lake conservation area in August of 2018, was one of those perfect sunsets, the ones where the cloud coverage is just perfect, the remaining sunlight is not too yellow or bright. the trees and surrounding vegetation sparkle in the waning suns glow. The water is calm and glistens and twinkles in the dimming light of dusk.

Winds and Snow...
This morning the skies were turbulent with thick heavy snow clouds, snow began falling in the early morning hours and persisted throughout the day leaving thick white deep snow everywhere.
just before noon Karen and I headed out to our favorite conservation area to get a few shots.
This shot taken near the entrance to the maintenance yard was being hit hard by blowing snow and it made everything fade into a white mist.

I don't get many sunsets but is a pretty view just that ? a pretty view... I think so myself but cannot resist a pretty view sometimes as they contain memories of some very happy days. I remember this particular coastal path walk towards Trebarwith Strand very well for a few reasons. One was meeting a walker who had his tent and billycan along with his haversack as he was walking the whole of the Cornish coast path and at a good pace. However he stopped to talk for a few minutes to warn us of Adders. Coming here for so many years and seeing Adders four times we are careful but it was a kindness to warn us. Anothing thing I loved in this view which actually disappointingly look unremarkable in this image because they are so tiny are the hundreds of tiny blue flowers which research tell me are called the not so pretty name sheep's bit (jasione montana ) there was a little bit of Sea Thrift and a few Sea Campion but difficult to make out tbh.. but you have to admit it, even if if only to yourself that is a pretty view with Gull Rock being an unmistakable Landmark, or is it an Ocean mark or a beacon? I don't know but the view was pretty :)
Since the U.S. Navy closed the historic Philadelphia Naval Shipyard complex.
Check out even more incredible views and photography at my site: here ;)
Philadelphia is the city is the birthplace of the U.S. Navy.
On March 27, 1794, President George Washington signed the Naval Act, which called for the purchase of six frigates to defend the country. Built in a shipyard below Carpenter Street in Philadelphia’s Southwark neighborhood, the first of the commissioned ships launched from a private shipyard on May 10, 1797. Shortly thereafter, this this became an official part of the United States Navy, after it purchased its first piece of real estate along the Delaware River, establishing the Southwark Yard between Federal and Reed Streets in 1801.
The Navy Yard is a great American landmark that has been transformed into the most successful commercial redevelopment of a former military facility anywhere in the country. In 2000, PIDC acquired control of the Navy Yard on behalf of the City of Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Authority for Industrial Development (PAID), where more than $150 million in publicly funded infrastructure improvements has leveraged in excess of $750 million in new private investment. Today, the Navy Yard is a thriving, 1,200-acre business campus where 150 companies occupy over 7.5 million square feet of office, industrial/manufacturing, and research and development space.
In The Blazing Blue..
This past weekend we spent a day exploring The Credit river as it flows south from Cataract Falls to Brimstone;
This is the small lake that is at the entrance to the park, and was bathed in glorious light and the water glistened and sparkled in its radiant glory.

The Early Bird...
The forecast called for early morning thunder showers and inclement weather; Knowing they are the best days for sunrises... I made my way to Burton park and started taking shots of the sunrise.
the yellow and crimson blue hues of the sky only lasted a few minutes then were lost in the thicker cloud cover that suddenly enveloped the rising sun.
The early bird gets the sky to itself....

Golden Sunset...
This shot of an evening sunset at Heart Lake conservation area in August of 2018.
As the evening quickly approached, the yellow paddle boats basked in the golden glow of the falling sun, they rocked gently on the calm and placid surface of the water; the lake was calm; as smooth as glass, reflecting the surroundings with a mirror like quality.
