A cuckoo bumblebee on an echinops flower. I think this is bombus vestalis, the Southern cuckoo bumblebee.
Looking like some creature with tentacles, this is part of a dried allium seed-head

I was lucky enough to win the Warehouse Express "wexmondays" photography competition (19/9/2011) with this shot - very pleased indeed
This is a plant in my garden not more than 8 feet from my back door - goes to show you don't need to travel to far flung corners to take competition winning images or find inspiration.

Not sure what delicacy this female Sarcophaga sp. flesh fly is eating but I suspect it's something none too pleasant.

An almost wintery day 29 of #30DaysWild, about the only creatures braving it in the garden are the molluscs.
There may be a number of "problems" with this photo but I thought the reflections were well worth a go. Taken from Pizza Express on the first floor of the Forum, Norwich after visiting the Wex Photographic 2014 #WexMondays competition exhibition.
