Silloth Sunset
A stunning sunset at Silloth last night, one of those that seemed it wasn't going to do anything spectacular. As photographers we have learnt to wait just a little bit longer after sunset just in case, this was a good 10 or 15mins after sunset, then the whole sky suddenly erupted into colour.
I sometimes find that sunsets can be a bit too over powering and this was this the case here, trying to control the saturation.

Early morning fog had pulled back to mist when I was out yesterday morning. a few people about dog walkers mainly and one fisherman about to set up on the Row Ponds.
If you remember work was done in and around the third Row Pond around this time last year, fortunately it is beginning to get back to something like normal, or at least it's new normal.
Into The Mist
This is an image from the path which goes the full way around Castle Loch on Saturday morning when we were treated to a nice bit of mist around the area.

The Cabbage Patch
An image from Saturday at my fave tree:) I had to put the waders on for a bit of protection while I made my way around the field to get close to the tree and gently making my way between the cabbages.
I took a few images before the sun broke the horizon but I wanted to wait until I had a bit of light thrown over the cabbages. Lots of mist flowing through the valley below, but it wasn't until the sun broke the horizon that the heat on the cabbages produced a light layer of mist in the field creating a nice bit of atmosphere.

On the summit of Goatfell, Isle of Arran.
With sunset approaching North Goatfell is lit by the sun. Came across this tiny pool whilst exploring the summit earlier in the evening.
Thanks for viewing and for any comments / faves.

A lovely late February afternoon. A few people about but not many saying it's half-term week for Derbyshire. Chat with a surveyor; apparently NT are looking to de-silt both Great Pond and Millers Pond; it will be interesting to see how they manage that.
Wishing everyone a Merry and Safe Christmas!!! A big thank-you to all the NHS and social care staff and all key workers for the incredible work over the last couple of years!
A foggy day in Hardwick Park! The halfway point of this 52/52 project; doesn't seem long since the start.

A lovely January morning, out for a walk with my daughter's dog. Cold, just above freezing, still very muddy.
A beautiful crisp and cold winters day; great walking weather providing you are layered up. Wish I'd put some gloves on!!!
A quick shot taken on my way home from Bolsover. Another lovely July day; much cooler than last week so I'm much happier weather wise. We have had some rain over the last few days but not that much, another sign of the climate crisis.
The tree now looks to be in full leaf, very different from last month. Still no idea what the crop is.
A nice walk this morning with my daughters dog Winnie. Variable weather, almost everything; sun, rain, sleet and snow, just about the only constant was the stiff breeze. Having said that great to be out!
Generally dull and overcast, light not at all good. Cold; my mum would have said, 'cold enough for snow'; that's exactly what it did when I arrived back to the car. A few people about but not many.
Taken a couple of days ago whilst out walking my daughters dog Winnie. Very few people about, just a few dog walkers and a couple of fishermen, one being asleep. Always thought fishing was boring!
Still having problems uploading to flickr direct from Lightroom.
A lovely late August afternoon, temperature just about right, not too warm.
Mild and bright but very windy, we are on the bottom end of storm Otto which is causing problems in the north of Scotland.

Apologies for the late posting of last weeks shot. Since the weekend I've been unable to upload shots to flickr directly from Lightroom. Flickr are working on the issue and hopefully will have a quick resolution.
A gloriously sunny mid-December morning; great to be out. A few people out but I was surprised not more, a few fishermen also out.
Cold this morning; very cold when taking into consideration wind chill. Storm Arwen, first named storm of this autumn/winter. Very strong winds and some snow. Very few people about.
Light not great, somewhat overcast.

Taken on Wednesday, storm Dudley was blowing in and at times difficult to stand still. Dudley was quickly followed by storm Eunice.
February, the last month of winter, spring is just around the corner. Another lovely morning, out with Winnie again. January generally mild with record sunshine; better not get too complacent winter could come back with a vengeance.
Mistful Morning - In Mono
Yesterday morning outside Lazonby, a nice amount of mist at sunrise.
One of those times when I could decide between the colour or black and white version of this image, so I may well post both. Normally you would expect a sunrise to work best in a colour.

Something different this week; this is actually a panorama. Rather than the usual horizontal side to side panorama this is a vertical, up and down panorama. The cloud formation and it's reflection in the water couldn't all be included in a normal shot so I decided to try a panorama.
Another lovely October afternoon; warm and sunny, much warmer than it should be at this time of the year.
Southerness Lighthouse
A trip to Southerness yesterday for sunrise, this is the first of a couple of images with the light on the lighthouse but also the windfarm of Robin Rigg in the Solway.
