The 52 in 2017 theme this week is Urban Fragments--"fragments of things you pass on your travels through your town or city but most people would miss." Well, I have to admit that I have missed seeing this in all the years I've been here. I went to lunch Thursday with the plan to walk around and try to find something interesting. I thought I'd end up with some column decor or something. I had no idea I'd find this Egyptian style painting over a side doorway of the Plaza Building in Jackson, Mississippi. Who knew?
It wasn't a great week for me, and I'm in the process of riding out some photo burnout, so I really didn't put the effort into this week's shot that I should have.

Week 32Vision: The Alphabet
Alphabet photography involves taking photographs of existing or created objects to create a word.
Another great day hiking! Beautiful views, scenery and some great company. We live in such a beautiful place. We came across this "cabin in the woods" on our hike. Someone put a lot of effort into building it. Sadly it's been unused a long time and been left to the elements. This window provided a great photo for this weeks theme!!
I have several pairs of cuff links but I don't often wear them these days. This pair was made for me by my wife. She was keen on all sorts of crafts and had a little enamelling kiln. She bought the swivel mounts and the copper squares, enamelled the design and then soldered the pieces together.
The Flickr Lounge group has chosen Minimalist Photography for the weekend theme in week 32 of 2025.
The traditional UK telephone box was designed by Sir Giles Gilbert-Scott in the 1920's. Gilbert-Scott had suggested that telephone boxes should be silver-coloured, but the Post Office (which at that time included the telephone service for most parts of the UK) decided that telephone boxes should be red.
However, there were a few exceptions, where it was felt that a red box would detract from the scenery.
The telephone box at Exceat has been green for decades - except for a few times when it has been demolished by road traffic accidents, and a red one has been put up as a temporary measure.

Shot for Week 32 of my "52 Weeks of 2023" flickr group project given the theme "Experiment with Color".
A little window shopping for this week's theme lead me to this shot. I loved the phrase on the kids' T-shirt combined with all the colorful toys.

The weekly theme in the 52-week project is "multiple exposure." I took a photo of sunflowers and added in a sunset and vintage photo of cars in downtown Taylor, Texas. I finished it with a drawing treatment.
one of the few Holga shots I wish I had taken with another camera so I would have had a fighting chance to get the exposure right. I'll probably never catch a shot of her in this spot again.
For week 32 we were supposed to try out diffent backdrops with the same props.
I placed some old books on the little vintage table and on top of the books I put my first camera, a Agfa click. I still have everything that came with it :)
I used a vintage preset on all photo's.
The different backdrops are: scaffold planks, plywood and white foamboard.
The plywood is my less favourite although now I think it does look like cloth :)

Weekly Theme: In Motion
Week #32
Taken August 12, 2012
Title: Hover
Notes: Well, it seems my backyard birds were again my subject of choice for this week's theme. I was using my 70-300 again while sitting on our deck and quietly watching the birds. There were many and varied kinds, but it was fairly hard to get a decent shot that showed motion without being horribly blurry. However, his little sparrow did me the courtesy of a brief 'hover' before landing on his seedy perch. Even though he was moving pretty fast, I liked the ghostly sweep of his wings while his head and chest remained relatively stable. While it may not be perfect, it was my favorite motion shot this week.
I really wanted to use one of those portraits I took last week, I just had to wait until I had a shot to combine it with. I turned out to use a shot of a cup of tea
