Note to self must get a larger ruler...they are between 6 to 9 inches :)
This ruler came with the house ;0)
musician.
so this week i plucked up the courage and forced myself and mon copain to perform infront of a bunch of private school students who are our age. talk about nerve-racking. i sang and samuel played guitar; and it's safe to say we did pretty well ;)
This is Soffía Rún Kristjánsdóttir, 19 and lives in Garðabær. This wasn´t actually shot for this project, was going to do something else but we threw together a photoshoot last minute and this was one of the photos taken there. I liked the outcome so I asked Soffía if she would mind I use her for this series and she didn´t.
Henný actually takes most of the credit for this photo as it is her idea and of course she did the makeup. Lighting is just three lights, two with honeycombs from the back and one from the front with a 75° softlite reflector and then I put a silver reflector between us under her face.
Challenge for this fortnight - Architecture, old and new.
This photo is from my shoebox, from a trip a couple of years ago that has provided many posts over these pandemium years.

I feel pathetic because I have a week to take a good photo and then I cheat and use an old one. I give so much credit to the people who do 365 projects. Gah! I am such a lame contact I'm sorry!!! I think the reason that I don't take as many photos as I like is because i don't have the ideas and the confidence to attempt to execute any ideas. I need someone to shoot with and then i think that will help. I will try to get something shot from this week up, but i am swamped with work. Maybe look for it later. I apologize for my lameness and i hope to bring better photos to the table in the future.
A bit late as I was without a proper camera for 10 days.
This weeks theme is paper. These are handmade books, made by my wife and daughter. They look excellent when finished but do take a long time to make.
Well, for this week we're going with this very important capture. As some of you know, Arthur isn't exactly the holding-things-with-the-mouth kinda dog. Last year he surprised me holding a teddy bear for a photo. I literally cried because it was a trick that I was trying with Arthur for ever. But he never wanted to do it again.
This capture is really important to me 'cause today he did it. I asked him to hold the tooth brush and after a little bit of me begging, he did what I asked. I filmed a short video of his good job. (Previous post)
Anyway... I'm really proud of my handsome (and now clean) boy. So happy and excited for more captures like this. But one step at a time.
Guys, thank you for your kind words and compliments.
We haven't moved yet, we'll go this week.
Tomorrow is my birthday (Lorena's) and I wanted to be there already but moving is really stressful and with all the things of university and my mom's health... 24hrs isn't enough time these days... Anyway. Thank you!
PS: I have posted some out door captures from today, just in case you're interested. My camera is broken, so I'm using only my cellphone to capture Arthur's moments.
Hope you guys have an amazing week!
PPS: tomorrow (January 26th) I'll be turning 22! So happy! 🎈🎉🎊👏
For the CWD assignment on selective colour. I've always really liked the way that red pops against b&w--i guess that's the sort of obvious colour choice, but, i dunno. i like it. My black and white needs work. This was yucky, so i added the texture. What a cop-out.
Not sure what's up with the '50s soda shop look. It does however work for Theme of the Week, which is "favourite things." Because my love for diet vanilla coke (with extra vanilla added) is...well...substantial. Plus, come on...i'm kind of adorable.
Made Explore for a fraction of a second.
Quando você lembra que tem um violino que você abandonou no armário. E ao relembrar como se toca aquela musica, também lembra dos detalhes lindos dele.
Week 04 – St Kilda Junction, Melbourne
This one didn't quite pan out as I would have liked There were a lack of trams at this time so only just caught one. Did get an ambulance passing on the left though!
Not sure whose photo I saw the other week taken in Newcastle where it was a bunch of trail photos stacked which I never thought of doing so gave that technique a go! Stacked in PS, usually use my star trail stacker but I accidently deleted it I think!
The theme this week was diptych or triptych. I decided to go with a beachy theme for this one. I didn't want to make this too pretty, so I added the dead alewives to macabre things up a bit. It was a really nice day to walk over to North Beach. There were only a few people there, so I nearly had the whole beach to myself. It's a great peaceful place to be to get away from my desk and break up the day for a while. I like how I was able to incorporate Port Washington's iconic lighthouse in this one as well.
i had a shooting with a very good friend today :)
i'm happy about the photos we took so i uploaded one.
maybe i'll take some more this week, so it could be that i'll upload a second at the end of the week :D
i hope you like it :)

Wow, this is my first black and white in this project!
Anyway, this is about the necklace, simple.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban has always been my favourite book, and the one i have re-read (and re-listened to with Stephen Fry) the most. I suppose its because its the one where Voldermort never makes an appearance and instead of loosing at the end Harry gains a new family member.
My favourite chapter has always been the Knight Bus and i actually hated what they did with it in the film, that little head just creeped me out and i couldn't stand it!.
But yeah, when i was shopping this week i saw this necklace, it reminded me of the Time Turner and i just loved the idea of it, that you could just turn back time and help those who need it. So i had to buy it!
Anyways, hope you have had a good week, i will be here next week :) Down hill to the end now...
I've decided to carry my dilapidated 366 project on in the form of a weekly photo instead. The project will be a fifty-two week long makeup adventure.
I liked the weird angle of my face here.

My husband is a teacher, which meant we spent the summer playing a lot of
board games and entertaining ourselves at home.
my weeks gone by quite ok, not too much has happened and more importantly, not many customers have pissed me off (woohoo!!).
took this pic on my day off, thought id take slaine for walkies in on the moors and then into the park (along with my camera, tripod, remote etc, typical walk for me ;o) it was sooo muddy, my boots got filthy and i really wish i'd worn my funky wellies. when we got home i curled up in my jim jams and watched 'the crow', my fave film :o) then spent most of the evening reading punisher comics, perfect day really :o)
my week did go a litlle bad when rachel decided to bring haggis in for her dinner, urgh!! i couldnt stop thinking about it and kept gagging and my eyes were watering, i told her not to heat it up until id had my dinner cos i'd probably throw up hehe :o) she only has it once a year, so we made a deal, next year, she'll eat it at home and i'll buy her dinner at work :o)
yesterday i woke up early hours of the morning feeling really ill, really bad belly ache and needing to throw up :o( made it worse knowing i had work, felt like phoning in sick but i dont like doing that, so i took a carier bag with me on the train in case i was sick. started to feel a little better towards the afternoon and by evening i was back to normal, which i good because i had a poncho party to go to at bevs :o) had a fantastic time, bought a gorgeous grey poncho and a grey scarf with beads on it so it looks like you're wearing a necklace, sooo cool :o)
on the way home me and nem nipped for a cheeky curry to take home, mine had a boiled egg in it, what the hell?! i dont think thats normal is it?! nem suggested it was my missing egg that was returning home (long story!! but funnily enough we were talking about that last night hehe :o)
Week 52 - 31 December 2015
Final post for the year, and it has to be Owen. We've had the pleasure of having Owen and his little sister over for the holidays and it really brings the family much joy to have this little munchkin around.
So happy new year and here's to another 52 weeks. More next week.
“Friends, you and me... you brought another friend... and then there were three... we started our group... our circle of friends... and like that circle... there is no beginning or end.”
I always love polka dots and Gerbera Daisies so I thought I would incorporate them into this weeks theme. I'm taking a Kim Klassen online class on layers and textures and used her "Shine" texture. Also used a Florabella action.
This time the change of seasons is more visible in my pictures.
Spring and summer are in the first row and autumn and winter in the second row.
No snow again in winter but at least it was frosty.
