FlaRF 2015 - Week 2

Week#81 Another example for the challenge.

A softer version of my Flickr shot this week - reflecting days gone by.

Week 5.

Tall trees on a cloudy winter night.

Took quite a few sky photos this week - this was the one that captured me the most. Love the simplicity and the symmetry of the plane against the beautiful blue skies and spring foliage. Hope you like it too.

The leaves of my banana plant look amazing.

I had a good photo session with Jazzy & decided to do a montage.

Great timing: 5 weeks before our baby is considered to be full term, my Nikon D80 brakes down! Not sure what to do, with a baby coming and all the expensive stuff that goes with that, I am not keen on buying a new camera!

This picture was taken with our Leica, which is a ultra wide angle camera. Not exactly great for portrait shots so I cropped it to match the other pictures.

Apart from the camera trouble, all is going well. Baby is still head down, heartbeat sounds great, and I am also feeling well. I am getting quite 'slow' and tired quickly though.

Plug me Back in!!!

Finally got power back last night, after 7 days without it... still very limited cell phone service at home, and no Internet... but in reality we were extremely lucky compared to others who were hit by this storm, and for that I am quite grateful.

this night is flawless.

Happy New Year all!! Hope 2012 brings everything you wish for! I had a fantastic start to 2012, i hope that my year continues as it started.

Starting a 52 week project as well, 52 photos, 52 weeks, looking forward to it. I'm hoping it will help me grow as a photographer and get me to take more photos, so we'll see! oh and i got a 50mm for christmas, yayyy!

[27th December-1st January]

This completes my 10th project in the series from 2015 to 2024.

Amazing!

Many thanks to the Admin team for their support, and interesting challenge topics.

Bris in the snow. Already 2ft deep in my yard and we're expecting another nor-easter tonight. I'm missing the five heat waves from this summer but I do love the look of clean snow

Cheer Showcase 2 flyers flying high!

Very challenging week in trying to get a focus-stacked insect. Summer is over so my choice was limited. I did find a grasshopper but he was too active and you need subject to be completely still. So found this dead fly which suited.

Image is made up of 42 shots with my Canon 50mm reversed onto my Sigma 105mm Macro. I used Canon's EOS Utility program to control focusing and stacked the results in Zerene Stacker.

Still some blooming flowers in our garden.

I really didn’t expect to see a dog in this inflatable craft this morning !

What even is this, this is so embarrassing. :(

It's been snowing non-stop here, it's crazy. I get so jealous that some provinces have no snow at the moment. Like get out.

My page setup looks horrible right now, considering the fact that I have two Starbucks cups on it.

Please, take my apologies. Next week will for sure have a better photo.

This is Week 5. 5/52

The pathway to Fisherman's Warf in Victoria, BC provided some nice curves for this weeks theme. It was a stiff competition for this week's pictrure...Curves are everywhere.

Week 10 (v 11.0) - for my good friend

Theme Of The Week - I made this

My house is over 100 years old, and was built with no closets (as people owned very few clothes back then and a wardrobe was sufficient storage). So when my Dad and I remodeled the kitchen, we fashioned this coat rack. The top stores hats, gloves, and scarves. There are 5 hooks for coats and the seat is storage for shoes. We also used wood off the "cull pile" (the wood that has gouges or is bent, and thus cheaper). That’s the reason for the 3 decorative cutouts in the back.

Strobist info:

-Main light, Elinchrom D-lite2, power f.4, with Beauty Dish positioned in front of the model, slightly to the left @ 45 °

-2nd light, Elinchrom D-lite4, power f3.6, positioned in the back of the model, with Rotalux octa 135cm.

A simple setup here, and works well! I played on the terms of the model, a typical fashion / beauty and other natural, thank you Steve for having distracted héhé! For treatment, I tried the technique of Dodge & Burn, I am satisfied with the result, in the end it is simply assertions ... with practice of course ^^

30 Weeks have passed and this has honestly been one of the most heartfelt projects I've taken on. It's intimate, but not in the way you'd think. Intimate in that I've gotten to know Em on a close level as she opened herself to capturing her changes, her emotions, her overall self the past few weeks. As someone who currently has no interest in having kids this has been a fascinating thing to explore and partake in.

Model - Ember LaFuze

During my shoot with Vanessa I looked at her and said, "You're my week two". I did an edit of this but I liked the original better anyways

My submission for Week 7 of the Dogwood 52 Week Photography Challenge. Portrait: Faceless.

CC Welcome.

the local flower shop supplied very fresh flowers, this almost a week after they were delivered on May 7.

The Moat in Chiang Mai, Thailand in HDR. In the back ground is the mountain Doi Suthep.

I decided last week since I am now into the last thirteen weeks of this self portrait series I should really go all out to create excellent work. I hope I can pull it off. I've had it in mind for awhile to shoot myself in my red coat, with umbrella, down at the ocean in some way and chose today to do it.

A note on the title: this isn't about any personal contemplation I am doing. It just seemed like the appropriate title for the shot.

awesome week, i'll tell you my last week with random words:

music, music, happiness

love, happiness, laughter. no words :)..

insomnia, laughter, nostalgia

yammy food, family, a book, painting with my brother, laughing with my cousin and hugging animals.

now i'm sad i have to go back at school -.-

there's no shame in being crazy

09.04-15.04

Final compilation of the weekly challenges for 2024. In order.

Large center panorama is my personal favorite of the year.

Just I was leaving the magical forest, I saw this little owl perched beside the trail.

Theme Of The Week - Shallow Focus Portrait

This week's theme is Winter/Summer (depending on which part of the world you live in!) What a shame it wasn't while the snow was on the ground!

I was going to take a picture of my hat, gloves, scarf etc, but settled on this bare tree instead!

Well, someone is a bit out of place here.

week off this week woohoo :)

mon: today was my amazing nannys birthday :) :) went to see her with nem, mum and colin, all had dinner together :)

tues: started the dreaded decorating, bye bye teal and brown, hello plum and grey ;) slit my arm with the wallpaper scraper and tripped over about 12 times.... saw the sun was setting so had a break and took slaine on the moors to catch the sunset :)

22/52: Shimamui Coast

August 26 - September 1

This coast chosen as one of Japan's 100 best shores and it is a part of Shakotan Peninsula in Shiribeshi, on the west coast of Hokkaidō, Japan.

It is a mountainous peninsula which projects some 30 kms into the Sea of Japan. The Shakotan Peninsula forms part of the Niseko Shakotan Otaru Kaigan Quas- National Park.

From the car park, there is a narrow dark tunnel to get to the look out point and from there you can see the coast line from the top. There are stairs to get to the bottom and it is only 5-10mins walk.

The only sad thing about this place was rubbish...
