After the New York Single-Payer healthcare bill passed the New York Assembly last week, constituents of New York State Senator Marty Golden aim to highlight his role in the potential success or failure of the New York Health Act (bill S4840) by organizing a rally in front of his Brooklyn office on May 31, 2017. Week #31 Texture - Needle in a Hay Stack. While on a bike ride, the rows of hay in the farmer's field on my route caught my attention. I played around with some processing just for fun.

Joy to me is looking back as well as looking forward. I love to borrow my nanas photo albums and flick through the pages. Seeing where I've come from and seeing the family I have made for myself as we grow together through life.

I'm sorry I couldn't choose between them :-)

Sunday was Ben's first soccer game of the fall. He made two saves as goalie and scored a goal on the other side. Very proud! www.CarsonVision.com

Week 11/52

I am not religious. My entire family is catholic and I was once, too. At the time you lose your faith, it doesn’t hit you straight away but as time goes by and you struggle with your problems you realise you’re alone and you can’t ask anyone to take the pain away, to solve your problems, to help you trough the storm.. “You are not religious? Well…then you must be a really strong person!” Do you understand the meaning of this? I didn’t, at first. But it comes a time when you need to stop being that strong, it can turn you into ice. One must believe in something, even if it’s not true, if it doesn’t exist. Otherwise, we are lost.

Had difficulty choosing a shot this week. Been four days on a digital photography workshop and then were out for the day yesterday. So a mixture in the form of a triptych, Purple Loosestrife from the workshop and the Heather from the Keepers Pond yesterday.

We've been taking these very expensive trips to Central Market on Sundays. It's a great thing to do with a baby because there's so much for him to see. Plus, we're on this new "cook all meals at home" plan because we got so sick of trying to figure out where to take out food (and how to coordinate the logistics of picking it up). This past week Joel made short ribs with polenta, antipasto-style penne, and baby food for Milo (chicken, yams, and zucchini).

The other project picture we took during our journey to Argentina, while this one was taken in Brazil visiting Itaipu dam.

A couple of weeks ago, we bought Colette a pool to play in as the summer has been really starting to heat up. For several days, she played in the pool for hours, refusing to get out when mommy and daddy would ask her to. But, a short while after we bought the pool, rainy weather hit the area for several days bringing particularly torrential rain and wind to the Farmington area. When the weather had cleared up again, we went out to check on the pool to discover that it had suffered irreparable damage. The pool now sits on the patio in the front yard in desperate need of some TLC, although Colette seems to have already moved on.

AFGE activists come to Washington, D.C. for the DEFCON Policy Week events.

Taken at Eastern State Penn this weekend - playing around with long exposures and the people walking in and out of the shots. I really like the "ghost" vibe it gives off. This is a bit darker than I usually care for but this prison has a pretty dark history, so maybe it's fitting afterall.

Anyway, our little band KLM is taking our act out on the road again. Headed to NC tomorrow for some birding, well waterfowling really. Should be some fun times. I'm OK with fun and I'm def. OK with less eventful too.
