My bed is without covers at the moment. Therefore it is uncovered. Yes, a literal take on the theme for this week, but I think this series turned out really fun and energetic. You have no idea how many times it took to get these shots airborne. I got a workout from all the jumping around!

I'm sick and tired of trying to hide the mess that I am.

Wow, this is my first black and white in this project!

Anyway, this is about the necklace, simple.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban has always been my favourite book, and the one i have re-read (and re-listened to with Stephen Fry) the most. I suppose its because its the one where Voldermort never makes an appearance and instead of loosing at the end Harry gains a new family member.

My favourite chapter has always been the Knight Bus and i actually hated what they did with it in the film, that little head just creeped me out and i couldn't stand it!.

But yeah, when i was shopping this week i saw this necklace, it reminded me of the Time Turner and i just loved the idea of it, that you could just turn back time and help those who need it. So i had to buy it!

Anyways, hope you have had a good week, i will be here next week :) Down hill to the end now...

“Holocene” by Bon Iver

I've decided to carry my dilapidated 366 project on in the form of a weekly photo instead. The project will be a fifty-two week long makeup adventure.

I liked the weird angle of my face here.

É o que eu mais desejo agora - um pouco de descanso! Essa semana é a última semana de aulas, e provavelmente a semana mais exaustiva que eu vou ter no ano. Eu preciso de férias.

Theme Of The Week - Up High

Scuba Diving in Sint Maarten / Saint Martin with Ocean Explorers Dive Center ( Explorer's Week Log - Week 42, 2016 ) www.divesxm.com

I wish to be a dandelion seed, and let the wind carry me to somewhere I have never been.

Torres del Paine, Patagonia

My husband is a teacher, which meant we spent the summer playing a lot of

board games and entertaining ourselves at home.

my weeks gone by quite ok, not too much has happened and more importantly, not many customers have pissed me off (woohoo!!).

took this pic on my day off, thought id take slaine for walkies in on the moors and then into the park (along with my camera, tripod, remote etc, typical walk for me ;o) it was sooo muddy, my boots got filthy and i really wish i'd worn my funky wellies. when we got home i curled up in my jim jams and watched 'the crow', my fave film :o) then spent most of the evening reading punisher comics, perfect day really :o)

my week did go a litlle bad when rachel decided to bring haggis in for her dinner, urgh!! i couldnt stop thinking about it and kept gagging and my eyes were watering, i told her not to heat it up until id had my dinner cos i'd probably throw up hehe :o) she only has it once a year, so we made a deal, next year, she'll eat it at home and i'll buy her dinner at work :o)

yesterday i woke up early hours of the morning feeling really ill, really bad belly ache and needing to throw up :o( made it worse knowing i had work, felt like phoning in sick but i dont like doing that, so i took a carier bag with me on the train in case i was sick. started to feel a little better towards the afternoon and by evening i was back to normal, which i good because i had a poncho party to go to at bevs :o) had a fantastic time, bought a gorgeous grey poncho and a grey scarf with beads on it so it looks like you're wearing a necklace, sooo cool :o)

on the way home me and nem nipped for a cheeky curry to take home, mine had a boiled egg in it, what the hell?! i dont think thats normal is it?! nem suggested it was my missing egg that was returning home (long story!! but funnily enough we were talking about that last night hehe :o)

As I do not have a pet of my own, I stood at the street corner and asked some passers-by if I could photograph their dogs. "Only the dog?" they would ask and agree when I said yes.

The first one was a four month old bull-dog puppy; I know there are many breeds that have a bull-dog face but within my limited knowledge, for me they are all bull-dogs. Lovely animal, seemed scared, having been taken away from its mummy and siblings at such an early age.

Then there came a lady with two poodles who made the same question, and I took more than 10 photos, not one worth looking at.

I had made a mistake. To fill the frame with the dogs, I had come out with an 85 mm lens. Imagine my ordeal to keep the dogs eyes in focus.

Then there were a very nice mother-daughter, each one with a dog and a lady with a poodle. The young girl had a very sensitive looking, really shy dog that was always looking the other way, and the mother´s was an old one who came in between, trying to protect the shy friend.

And the poodle in this group; I decided I am not a good poodle photographer.

Week 52 - 31 December 2015

Final post for the year, and it has to be Owen. We've had the pleasure of having Owen and his little sister over for the holidays and it really brings the family much joy to have this little munchkin around.

So happy new year and here's to another 52 weeks. More next week.

“Friends, you and me... you brought another friend... and then there were three... we started our group... our circle of friends... and like that circle... there is no beginning or end.”

I always love polka dots and Gerbera Daisies so I thought I would incorporate them into this weeks theme. I'm taking a Kim Klassen online class on layers and textures and used her "Shine" texture. Also used a Florabella action.

This time the change of seasons is more visible in my pictures.

Spring and summer are in the first row and autumn and winter in the second row.

No snow again in winter but at least it was frosty.

This week, on Sunday, was mine and Jamie's 3 months of togetherness so we went to Buckland Abbey to walk around the grounds and had a lovely cream tea after!

Das zweite von 52 Fotos, während meiner Schlaflosigkeit entstanden. Was mann alles nachts noch so macht. Andere schlafen um diese Zeit, meine Mitbewohnerin schaute mich auch völlig verwundert an als ich das am nächsten Tag erzählte

I needed to do a bit of research this week to discover more about what is intended by abstract photography. There are many reference points available but perhaps the most succinct description I came across is:

- Does not represent the subject in a literal way.

- Communicates primarily through form, colour and curves (or in my case, lines) rather than image detail.

I hope I have at least approximated this view of abstraction with my image this week. In processing the image I wanted to try to avoid having any lines that were perfectly vertical, horizontal or diagonal. No doubt someone will find a line in there somewhere that breaks my self-imposed rule!

In case anyone wants to hazard a guess at it, I won't reveal yet what the 'real world' object is that I photographed. :-)

week 18: Derelict.

Down at the Vauxhall graveyard.

I quit for a few weeks because my head was elsewhere, as can be seen in the second page

Yep, had to go for the water reflection shot! Rather than tie a bag overhead and let drops fall from a pinprick I decided to use a teaspoon to drop the water. Used a colourful magazine page as backdrop.

Strobist info: My 430ex was set to 1/8 power and was just out of shot on the right (hence slightly blown out area there).

very broad theme this week, and had no real idea what to do for it until a kid at work pointed out this dead robin outside. Fear not no one actually touched the poor creature, photoshop helped this concept come together without disturbing the dead or spreading germs.

This is Tinna Sigurðardóttir, 25 years old, she is my baby sister. She is very much an outdoor and action kind of girl, she travels a lot, is a diving instructor and a riverrafting/tour guide, has a licence to drive big trucks and regularly takes tourists to the most interesting locations here in Iceland. In fact I am getting so fat and out of shape I am sure she could kick my ass if she wanted to, something that was inconceivable a couple of years ago.

I was originally going use her as week 48 and take her photos while we were diving (see the story by week 48) but she broke her arm two days before we were going diving so that was obviously impossible, she unfortunately won´t be able to go diving till next year. Well I still wanted her for this project as I wanted everyone in my immediate family in it so I just shuffled the weeks around and got her boyfriend Ingó to model last week so she could take it easy for two weeks before this photoshoot.

Well since she had this huge cast on her arm we decided to do something with it and shot this the day before she got a much smaller cast. Henný did all the makeup and hair. The idea is that you really are supposed to look at this shot and just wonder "What the f**k happened to that girl???". Ingó did the artwork on the cast and he owns that brown club you just barely see the handle of there in the lower right corner, that´s an original old school police club.

Lighting is 4 lights, one big softbox from the front, two smaller from either side of Tinna behind her and a fourth with a honeycomb shooting at the black backround.

Week 1 - Story with Rule of Thirds - Big Benjamin - I feel like I should have went to explore the angles a little more. Maybe walk further down to my left to capture the bridge. CC welcome. #dogwood2017 #dogwood52

My first attempt at a water pour. I've seen wines pours done and have meant to try it out. This weeks theme of "colors" inspired me to try give it a whirl...using the primary colors as part of the composition. It took quite a few attempts with each color and these are the best of what I had to work with. Enjoy.

Wk 29 -- One A Week 2020

My boyfriend and I have been to Disney in Concert and I just love to hear all the songs and even sing along.

Week 3 theme: BUTTONS 1

The theme this week was a two-parter. Pull Up Your Socks And Use a Unique Perspective.

I thought I'd add a sexy noir twist this week.

National Nurses Week 2025 is here! This year the American Nurses Enterprise is shining a light on The Power of Nurses. We recognize the invaluable contributions of nurses worldwide and the real-life challenges they face every day. Whether you're a nurse, a healthcare professional, a patient, or simply someone who appreciates the critical role nurses play in our lives and society, National Nurses Week is the perfect time to share your gratitude and celebrate nurses. Be sure to thank a nurse. They are the glue that holds the healthcare system together.

Prompt: Illustration of a nurse. The nurse is standing in a medical setting, wearing a white uniform with a red cross on her hat and a stethoscope around her neck. She is holding a clipboard and smiling. The background features medical equipment, including a blue syringe, a box of gloves, and a medical chart on a table. The text "HAPPY NURSES WEEK" is written in large letters, with the date "May 6 - 12 " written in smaller letters.
