Not that we are trying to replace Silver, but we went shopping for fish on Sunday!
There are 2 new members of the family. The owner of Kingston Nursey told us the number one rule of having koi is to NEVER name them. C'mon, I grew up on a farm...we named our burgers!
This cutie is Tako. Steph was going to name him Clifford (cuz he's reddish). She decided to name him after one of her favorite sushi-Tako (octopus).

It's quite a site to behold and well worth the visit to the gardens alone!
Working my way up the hill from bottom to top. The retaining wall and footsteps are largely complete, but there is still a lot to do on the stream and waterfall.

Maria Pizzuti is from Rome and as an artist she has worked in many different media. One of her better known sculptures is a large panel-beaten bronze piece, entitled An Croi Briste, is in situ as a famine memorial on Lower Mallow Street (near Steamboat Quay) on the Shannon River in Limerick city. I do not know why, at the site, it is entitled “Broken Heart” rather than “An Croi Briste”. Maybe there is a plaque in Irish that I failed to notice.
In the past I have complained about the condition of this monument and the lack of water in what was supposed to be a water feature. Somebody has made some attempt to tidy it up but the addition of large flowerpots was not a good idea and in my opinion they should be removed soon rather than later. It would appear that adding baskets or pots of flowers is a default solution by the city council in Limerick.

Unfortunately this has broken already, the hemisphere at the top has been removed (for repair?) and no water is flowing

The water lilies in the garden pond are doing well. We won't get any blooms this year, but we should next year.

The Castle Park includes all the walled demesne parkland to the south of Kilkenny Castle and the formal terraced gardens to the north comprising a total of 50 acres. Close to the Rose Garden is a central fountain. The estate overlooks the Nore River and features mature trees and shrubs with an ornamental lake numbered among the many items of interest. It is very well maintained and presented.
