This garden has floating water features set on a moat from the driveway to the main house. There is a wooden bridge which one can cross into the house.

About a year ago I came across a document explaining the idea behind this sculpture and unfortunately I cannot fine the document in question and I cannot fully remember in detail the content. The globe is the earth and it is treated like a football be men [males] ... it is abused.

The spelling of the name appears to vary - Cliona, Cliodhna or Cliodna - but it would appear that the correct spelling is Cliodhna.

Cliodhna Cussen was born and educated in Co. Limerick. She attended third level education in Dublin and Florence and is presently based in Dublin and Kerry. She works as a full-time sculptor using mostly bronze and stone. Cliodhna does graphic work in the Graphic Studio Dublin and she also illustrates and publishes Irish Children's Stories. She has exhibited widely and won a number ofawards for her work, including the Listowel Gold Medal for sculpture and the sculpture prize at the Oireachtas.

The Ruamoko Waterfall Water Fountain is a truly unique feature that is sure to impress. It is framed in a multi-colored slate that is finger woven together, and looks as though it is ripping apart at the seams. Both the top and bottom arch outwards, and the base actually wraps around the whole bottom of feature. Recessed into the stone is flame torched copper which appears to be blowing directly out of the stone.

We have added a water feature to our back Garden , which I am sure is going to provide hours of amusement!

Nozzles (similar to shower heads) stick out from the wall, creating a shower like spray of water that falls into shallow pool below (hidden by plants).

Note the staining on the wall. This could probably have been prevented if the nozzles stuck out further from the walls.

Again the water expressions are spread out creating larger impact.

I like this park and the associated block of flats

Chancery Park is best described as an extension to Chancery House, a block of council flats designed dating from 1934. The Art Deco style complex was designed by the then city housing architect, Herbert Simms. My understanding is that this nice little public park has very restricted opening hours – 8am to 4pm Monday to Thursday and it doesn’t open weekends at all, even in summer.

I had chosen a large flagstone with the approximate size and shape I needed for the "patio" stone, but I still had to trim a bit off two corners to get it to fit exactly where I wanted it to. I used a cardboard template to mark the stone with the shape I needed. To make sure it broke exactly where I wanted it to, I first scored a channel in the rock with a rotary grinder and then drilled a series of holes partway through the rock along the gouged line using a masonry drill bit. Then, when I hit it wth a sledge hammer, the rock broke as planned along the pre-scored line of perforations. After that it was a simple matter of wrestling the heavy slab into place. A two wheeled dolly was used to transport the stone (it was too heavy to lift single handed), and I then stood it on edge where it could be tilted over and into place. It all worked out perfectly as planned.

We’re always trying to find ways to make our little gardens an oasis for creatures of all shapes and sizes (minus the big rodent like white tailed deer, we could live without them). We put up birdhouses and put out seed for our feathered friends. We have boards and rocks and upturned pots around the gardens for toads, salamanders and snakes. We have bamboo for native bees and a hive of honeybees. We have saucers filled with rocks and water for all the small insects, birds, and other creatures. One thing we’ve been lacking is a small pond for frogs.

Another view. This is not a water wall, but rather a wall with planters.

Weathered bamboo fountain.

It's hooked up to the irrigation system. Every morning, water flows from the spout into the rock basin tsukubai and pond below, refreshing both. Fish keep the mosquitoes at bay...

In the Place General Leclerc. Between Gare de Tours and Centre de Congres Vinci

Autumnal colours line the banks of the River Braan in full flow from the Black Linn Falls at The Hermitage in Dunkeld, Perthshire.

Make sure your beautiful Belvedere waterfall doesn't fall flat; top it off with Belvedere Coping.

Maria Pizzuti is from Rome and as an artist she has worked in many different media. One of her better known sculptures is a large panel-beaten bronze piece, entitled An Croi Briste, is in situ as a famine memorial on Lower Mallow Street (near Steamboat Quay) on the Shannon River in Limerick city. I do not know why, at the site, it is entitled “Broken Heart” rather than “An Croi Briste”. Maybe there is a plaque in Irish that I failed to notice.

In the past I have complained about the condition of this monument and the lack of water in what was supposed to be a water feature. Somebody has made some attempt to tidy it up but the addition of large flowerpots was not a good idea and in my opinion they should be removed soon rather than later. It would appear that adding baskets or pots of flowers is a default solution by the city council in Limerick.

Another view, showing plant stand in pond.

At times water cascades of trays coming out from wall creating water falls, similar to the walls at Parque del'Este, in Caracas.

Another unexciting view of the Nottingham Riviera in the Old Market Square.
