While we were doing our tourist thing at a lovely little chapel in Balsemao in the Duoro valley this local lady kept vigil!

It wonderful to watch these beautiful graceful birds :))

There is a pair on the lake (well large pond ) near my veterinary surgery and I am hoping they are a breeding pair, so I will get to see their babies.

This was taken on my recent 3 day coast walk. As I neared the end of my first day and came down off the ridge towards Abbotsbury the early evening sun was slanting across that lovely line of trees but I needed a focal point. Then I noticed the lone sheep so I moved over to get him in the foreground. Now I believe that all animals, birds and bugs have a natural in-built instinct that tells them the exact moment that you are going to press the shutter so that they can dive off at that precise moment, but this sheep's instinct had clearly not yet developed ;-)!
