When we're clicking something really cool we forget to look around and see who else is enjoying the moment with us. just one of those silent observers

And I'm not talking about that guy fishing. There was a lady fishing in a spot just out of the left corner of this image. I got my camera out of the bag, put it on a tripod, and as I turned to scramble down a small bank, she was walking my direction. Her eyes were wide open and she was a bit pale. She looked at me and said that there were snakes laying all over the place down there. She said they were watersnakes, which aren't poisonous, but they are aggressive little boogers. The entire time I was there, I was more preoccupied with where I stepped than taking a photograph. The sun wasn't cooperating very much either. Then, just when a big 'ol cloud moved in front of it, some guy walked out to the edge of the waterfall and started fishing. As it turned out, I thought he added an interesting element to the scene.
there is a streetartist called emka who used to put up stickers in munich with his tag in a kind of japanese katakana-style calligraphy, which i am reminded of by the white scratches. haven't seen anything of his in quite some time. also - the bird didn't move a muscle.

Replica of a Canadian 1 cent coin, sold by the Canadian Mint.
Macro Monday - June 2 theme: Watch
Much loved and well worn. A conversation piece.
The Royal Canadian Mint ceased production in 2012 and
distribution, of the 1 cent coin (penny) in February 2013. The coin, however, is still legal tender. Vendors no longer return pennies in change, cash purchases are rounded up/down to the nearest 5 cents. Non-cash purchases are still processed to the precise amount.
We went to a "dark" "secluded" spot last night to hopefully see the Northern Lights and were not disappointed. It was so dark I could not see this woman wrapped in a blanket who found a seat to enjoy the view. I took quite a few 2 minute exposures and am going to try to combine them to show the star trails..haven't done this before and not every shot is perfectly aligned since the camera moved a bit, so wish me luck!
Our "secluded" spot turned out to be very popular and there must have been30 or more cars parked along the road..and they all drove by with headlights on...drat...overlighting the foreground in many shots.
The Home Depot gave me this watch after I received 12 customer service badges. I usually don't wear watches because I carry a mobile phone, but I sometimes wear my depot bling at work.
Product photograph of MiGEER black sports watch with leather strap set against red outline of a sports car.
Macro shot of the inside of the pocket watch I carry with me every day. So many watches today are just electronic modules. This one is entirely mechanical. I love the intricacy of the tiny gears and springs.
An old shot.
My insomnia did it not me.
Thanks to sherry for suggesting the title.

It’s late May and a group of kayakers paddle in Byron Bay, Australia, as the whale watching season begins. Soon the bay will be busy with whales as they rest on their long migration from colder Antarctic waters to warm northern bays to give birth. Then the whales will return with their new calves as they journey home, with eager tourists and locals watching them frolic.
