This starling seemed to be feasting on insects whilst perched on the cow's nose . I suppose he was a welcome guest .
We have a saying here when an animal is acting skittish, that they have the wind up their tail. Quite a stiff breeze today and Toby has definitely had the wind up his tail.
Is this a common saying around the world or is it more local I wonder?

But another rather unusual outfit for Helene which i fell i love with going through some pictures on Pinterest and i quite like the way this outfit looked on a GG. So i decided to give a try and must say i like it a lot. So more of these coming soon!

I went on my first California 'whale watch' excursion out of Moss Landing and it was nothing short of amazing. It was non stop action for the 4 hrs we were out at sea. The first humpback whales were spotted shortly out of the harbor and at one point was described as 'whale stew'! There were many whales breaching (not on my camera) but on all sides of the boat and actually too close for my big lens...to witness this with two eyes was exhilarating to say the least? Have you ever smelled whale breath...we did...whew!!! As we headed back to the harbor one breached behind us and one came up right in front so close the best I could do is take a shot of it's 'blow holes'.
No sun but it was a trip I will never forget!
This was one of two unseasonal fires on the Ashdown Forest in Winnie the Pooh country yesterday afternoon. I was in my favourite nature reserve when I saw it. I called it in but the fire brigade were already on their way. Nothing like the Saddleworth Moor fire in scale but it still took 65 firefighters to bring it under control. Let's hope it's not a sign of things to come.... It's a bit scarier viewed large...
These youngsters were a little shy at coming forward but only minutes later had joined the rest of the herd at the feed Landrover.

The young boy unfortunately is probably a street boy and he's carrying a home made set of Bongo drums that he taps a rhythm on to earn some money - usually on parked Jeepneys that are waiting for passengers.
