These are the walks I remember when I was their age. Wellies and rain through the woods by our house in St Albans. Great memories. Another slightly late tea but the boys are showering while I cook and will eat in PJs.
A walk in midtown Manhattan on 05.13.18 from 34th Street to Times Square. It was a rainy day but the puddles make for great reflection shots.

The trail I was walking on is one of those that feels like a wooded womb. The trees arch over the path in a canopy, and light beams poke through and illuminate the flora like spot lamps. This flower was just off the path, leaning into one of the angled columns of light.
Taking "macro" images with a long zoom lens is strangely fulfilling. I can get right in on the subject from 6 or 8 feet away, almost like a voyeur. Sure, there is the expected loss of fine detail that comes with the long focal length, but the added effects created by the sheer volume of glass and the compressed depth of field more than make up for it, I think.
