The impressive huge white mountain is too far away, and so white in the strong shining sun that he is invisible. A more heavy camera (a better one) would not have had problems with it.

I love this white giant, and he gives me a wonderful feeling when he is duddenly there, when the path is changing the direction.

I took a walk in the woods today.

My cousin Mike and his wife Joyce are walk leaders for the Wakefield Health Walks. I joined them for a leaders walk with some other leaders, where they get to be a bit more adventurous than on the led walks. The pics are geotagged so click the map link to see exactly where we were. We took a bus from Wafefield Bus Station to Middlestown and returned again via bus from Overton. We covered around 6 miles which wern't all muddy, and the rain held off until we got home, then there was a big hail storm which I'm glad we didn't suffer in the open.

After our Christmas meal with my family in Veldenz, we went walking for a bit in Veldenz forest. The crest of Veldenz (or the old duchy of Veldenz) shows a lion, and the lion also pops up on trees all over the forest so you can make sure you find your way.

More than 200 people took part in Tucson's third annual Muslim-Jewish PeaceWalk on Sunday, March 5.

During a walk in the woods of Ter Apel I came to the forest's edge against a group of bullfinch. With snow in the background and the bullfinch on top, the Orange colors reflected well.

Bullfinches have a broad diet, consisting mainly of the seeds and berries of a variety of plants. When these are scarce during the spring they turn to the buds of fruit trees.

On a walk around the Botanical Gardens with a Flickr friend. Christchurch September 2020 New Zealand

Cuningham House (originally called Winter Gardens) was built in 1923 and opened on 9 August 1924, funded by a bequest made to the Botanic Gardens by Mr C.A.C. Cuningham, a Christchurch law clerk, on his death in 1915.

It is a large, stately structure of architectural importance and is listed with the Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga. A spacious staircase leads to a large peripheral gallery where an extensive collection of tropical plants are displayed.

Both upper and lower Cuningham House contain fine collections of sub tropical plants including Dieffenbachia, Peperomia, Hoya, Anthurium and Dracaena.

This gorgeous wedding at the World's Fair Pavillion was hosted by a beautiful couple. The guests ate great food, great cake, and danced the night away in the park. The wedding and this fondant covered cake was loved by all!

Shots of my walk through Chelsea, London

These photos are from a days walk in the Lakeland Fells in Cumbria England. We parked up in the small village of Braithwaite near Keswick. Our intention was to do a circuit of the Coledale Horseshoe taking in a number of fells . However the weather this week in the Lakes was often wet and cloudy.

We asked some locals where the start of the path was for Sail our first summit of the day. They said they had lived there all there lives and had never heard of it but we used Wainwrights North Western Fells Book 6 and quickly begun our walk

As you make your way up a pathway amongst the heather you are tempted to pop up some of the other fells such as Barrow Outerside and Sile End.

As the path steepens as you approach Sail there is much red coloured scree and in the valley below an old mine possibly called Force Crag Mine.

Much work has occurred on the pathway to the top of Sail. A winding pathway takes you to the top which is very flat . When we arrived on top of Sail at 2530 ft high it was largely in cloud and so a decision had to be made whether to continue on to Eel Crag , Hopegill Head and Grisedale Pike. Never that keen on walking all day in cloud we changed our minds and decided to head for Scar Crags and Causey Pike.

Scar Crags is higher than Causey Pike but is flat on top and doesn't hold your attention very long . It is another Wainwright summit that you can claim to have done but you soon pass over it as it is wet going under foot in places. At least everything was visible and we were not walking in thick cloud.

An easy walk took as over to the top of Causey Pike where we had a picnic lunch. Lots of walkers were doing the same and it was possible to view people mainly climbing up the prominent head of Causey Pike. You have to use your hands as you scramble to the summit.

There seems to be two routes one in a gulley were you are enclosed in the rocks and almost disappear out of sight and the second way which has some large slabs of rock which I slided over on my back side. Causey Pike is prominent and distinct with its its unusual buttress head of rock visible as it is when you are wondering around Buttermere or Keswick. Probably the daylight and you are tempted to do it all over again but climbing the buttress is certainly not a place to mess around .

After this the walk is often waist deep in gorse and heather to a hill called Rowling End emerging on to a road at Stair from which we made our way back to Braithwaite with 3 Wainwrights achieved that of Sail , Scar Crags and Causey Pike
