U02A03 - Storytelling: A Walk in the Countryside
This is near my house, which for someone who spent 40 years in East London, still is amazing I’ve got this walking distance from my house, more used to stolen mopeds than horses lol.
I tried to do this just before work, which meant I only had 45 minutes, though I realise it isn’t an excuse and will try to plan my photo exercises better and have more time to think about what I’m doing.
I don’t think I done the place justice or captured the storytelling, it just seems like some random snaps, but it’s made me think and I’ll try to do better as it does on, having young children and going on days out, this is one area I’d love to improve on tbh.
I would’ve liked to get closer to the horses, but was a bit scared, if they went crazy, I don’t reckon I could beat them to the fence lol
I’ve straightened and cropped the photos, but no editing.
One thing I need to work on is over clicking, I take far many pictures of the same exact thing and it’s becomes a chore to cull/edit.
We took a day trip with friends to the old Fenwick Mines near New Castle, VA. The area was used to mine iron ore back in the 1800s, and you can see the red iron ore in the rocks in the small streams that flow throughout the area. There are a series of small ponds and wetlands, with an abundance of wildlife and birds for the observer who is sharp-eyed and patient. Much of the trail (though not all) is wheelchair accessible. It is good to see how nature can reclaim a sustainable eco-system when given a fighting chance.
It was warm enough to make a nice walk in my shortest skirt. Luckily my legs were somewhat protected from the mosqitoes by my nude tights. 😊🌿🌲🍀
Ogliatsra is a little beautiful district in Sardinia….. it is magical!!!!

Una storia d’amore iniziata otto anni fa….. una storia d’amore con una terra ricca di magia…..
Siamo approdati in Ogliastra per caso, navigando verso sud senza meta, Sicilia o Tunisia….
Le scogliere selvagge del golfo di Orosei ci hanno lasciato senza fiato…. Arrivare a Cala Golortzè senza averla mai vista prima ci ha conquistato e catturato per sempre….
Non solo un mare stupendo….
Una terra magica e ricca di energia positiva…. Passeggiare per i sentieri del Golgo ti fa sentire legato e arricchito dalla natura che ti avvolge…. I nuraghi le domus de janas entrano in te nel silenzio intenso rotto solo dal canto del vento….
Queste montagne rosa, non hanno niente da invidiare alle Dolomiti…… il loro riflesso in questo mare turchese te ne fa innamorare perdutamente.
Ormai sono anni che navighiamo lungo le coste di Capo di Monte Santu e non smettiamo mai di restare in silenzio ad ascoltare il grido dei falchi pescatori fondersi con la risacca….
E poi il popolo dell’Ogliastra… così orgoglioso e riservato… così pronto ad accogliere chi arriva qui con lo spirito giusto…..
