Went for a walk in some local woods with my family today (kids, parents, sister, neice, nephew etc...) - had a lovely time and bonus is kids are in bed and asleep before 7pm!

As you can see we are knee deep in snow right now. Lucky for us the sun was shinning so it made for a beautiful day. I know i may sound crazy it was a beautiful day outside today. It was so quiet.The park was so bare only myself and the birds oh yes and a few squirrels out too. Everyone else was hibernating today. The good thing is I took this shot of fresh snow for you all to see. I'm sure you will all think in your minds I'm glad I don't live in Canada at least for the weather aspect. lol :)
City walk in Dordrecht. Schroevendok Straatman.
This screw dock from 1928 is a national monument and landmark of the Wolwevershaven. It belonged to the Machinefabriek L. Straatman Ketelmakerij, which was located at the Kuipershaven from 1902 to 1996. The dock was used to partially lift ships out of the water so that the ship's rudders and screws could be repaired or replaced from floating wooden platforms. It originally had a lifting capacity of 30 tons, in 1952 the capacity increased by ten tons. The tackle is a rare example of an early twentieth-century ship repair facility in an inland port. The detailed design and use of materials contribute to the building's historical value. The dock is owned by the Schroevendok Foundation and is used by the Jooren Scheepsrijders company for repairs of (ship) propellers, making it a living monument.
One of the best parts of driving to our family vacations are the little things you see on the side of the road. Take this guy for example... How long has he been out there walking his pet?

This poor person got caught in the downpour and decided to just saunter along the rest of the way. Plants love rain, but people, not so much! I, personally, was grateful for the gazebo!

U02A03 - Storytelling: A Walk in the Countryside
This is near my house, which for someone who spent 40 years in East London, still is amazing I’ve got this walking distance from my house, more used to stolen mopeds than horses lol.
I tried to do this just before work, which meant I only had 45 minutes, though I realise it isn’t an excuse and will try to plan my photo exercises better and have more time to think about what I’m doing.
I don’t think I done the place justice or captured the storytelling, it just seems like some random snaps, but it’s made me think and I’ll try to do better as it does on, having young children and going on days out, this is one area I’d love to improve on tbh.
I would’ve liked to get closer to the horses, but was a bit scared, if they went crazy, I don’t reckon I could beat them to the fence lol
I’ve straightened and cropped the photos, but no editing.
One thing I need to work on is over clicking, I take far many pictures of the same exact thing and it’s becomes a chore to cull/edit.
Shot during a short hike along the old church path leading from the village of Kauklainen to the larger village of Lappi. This old path through the forest was used in ancient times to travel between the two villages. It made it easier for the villagers of Kauklainen to go to church and to run all kinds of errands.

This picture is part of a series of forest and hiking themed pictures I've been capturing during the COVID-19 pandemic. In Finland restrictions on moving outdoors have been relatively minor and people have started to explore various hiking paths and nature reservations instead of going to the city.
