A small stream that flows between two villages in Val Chisone, in north-east Italy. Nothing planned, just a walk in the woods, I really liked this scene so I photographed it.

Ben, like most city dogs, is eager for his daily trip to the local park - no matter the time of year. These two are headed toward the off-leash area which provides both dogs and their humans much-needed social contact.
(Trees can be so beautiful, even without their leaves, can't they?)
A walk in the Amerongse Bos.
Het Amerongse Bos is één van de oudste bossen op de Utrechtse Heuvelrug. Dat is op zichzelf niet zo bijzonder omdat de meeste bossen op de Heuvelrug pas ongeveer honderd jaar oud zijn. Het Amerongse Bos steekt hier echter met kop en schouders bovenuit: sommige grove dennen dateren uit 1770. Het bos dankt zijn leeftijd aan de kasteelheren van het in de Amerongse Bovenpolder gelegen kasteel Amerongen. Zij lieten het bos aanleggen om er te kunnen jagen. Naast zijn ouderdom heeft het Amerongse Bos nóg een bijzonderheid. Het bos ligt namelijk op de 69 meter hoge Amerongse Berg, het hoogste punt van de Utrechtse Heuvelrug.
While Valentine's Day is usually a time when we look to receive admiration and love from others, I think that really it could (or should) be a great opportunity to show love to others. In a time when we usually focus on ourselves and our feelings, we should be looking out and seeing what opportunities God will give us to love those around us in a deeper and more true way. So take this as a challenge; look around you and see what little things you could do to share God's love with others. If we all really loved each other in the way we should, imagine what a blessing that would be! Finally, we should take this holiday and use it as a reason to remember all that God has done for us.

Founded in 1863 with the planting of an English oak tree, the Christchurch Botanic Gardens have grown from small beginnings to become a much-loved destination for Cantabrians and visitors alike. Over the years natural wetlands and sand dunes have been transformed into an elegantly cultivated 30 hectare park with more than 10 different gardens framed by mature trees and expansive lawns, which are mostly contained within a loop of the Avon River.

Sure we have Google Maps today, but the Replogle Globe booklet contains enough information to enable a student pass the Junior year TAKS (Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills). Maybe the old-school way is the better way.
