Out for a walk in the neighbourhood a few days ago and spotted these two sailboats hunkered down for the evening at Fleming Beach in Esquimalt BC Canada, a five minute walk from my home. I played at this beach way back in the last century, we built a few rafts and ventured out probably further than we should have, only if our parents knew, but boys being boys we had to experience the adventure, shades of Tom Sawyer. A breakwater shelters the boats from rough water.
Queenie and I went for our final afternoon walk out through the bottom gates of Castleburn. It wasn't too long but we took our time and had a fantastic walk in the dying sun.
The Greylag Goose (also spelled Graylag in the United States), Anser anser, is a bird with a wide range in the Old World. It is the type species of the genus Anser.
It was in pre-Linnean times known as the Wild Goose ("Anser ferus"). This species is the ancestor of domesticated geese in Europe and North America. Flocks of feral birds derived from domesticated birds are widespread.
Lainzer Tiegrarten, Vienna

A pair of Grizzles takes a walk in a sedge meadow. The male is on the left. Actually, he was courting two females. The other female is out of frame.
This is another capture from my Tide Rip Tour outings. All these bear shots were taken off a boat specially designed for bear viewing. I like Tide Rip because they are very conscious of minimizing any disturbance to the bears. They float the boat towards the bears with no motor, and stay a very safe distance (around 100m I think) from them. They do not allow eating on the boat, no perfumes or noise of any kind. This is also a very safe way for the bear-watchers to view these amazing animals.

Couple of days ago, we had some friends over and 3 of us, around 1 decided to go for an impromptu short photowalk/drive around Rotterdam. Of the three, two of us fancy being photographers while the third has no such illusions. We didn't want him to be bored and feel left out. So here he is!

3 subsequent bracketed handheld shots using: Canon 5d Mark 3, Canon 17-40mm f/4L, Manfrotto 804 RC2 Head with Vista Carbon legs.
Post processing:
1. Lightroom for initial fixups,
2. Merged in HDRefex
3. Tweaked (colors, sharpness and so forth) in Photoshop CS6 and Color Efex
4. Finally did a little more processing (vignetting and temp and so forth again in Lightroom)
