yesterday Peter and I were invited to tea, for a walk and out for a meal by Michael and Jane to celebrate Michael's birthday. There were eight of us in all. This picture is of Jane and Stacey walking back towards Roydon station. Perhaps the rain, dramatic sky, rumbling thunder enhanced the walk . . . and I'm a fan of umbrellas in captures!
I'm a little behind with looking at photos and am looking after Elsie today . . . will catch up by the weekend.
I love to walk in the midst of trees! Aspen trees are especially unique with their shimmery gold leaves and trunks with character. The markings are strikingly different on each tree and I find it fascinating to walk through them and observe their different personalities!

Bulls eye .... one thing is very abundant around here, most of the rocks are covered with incredible lichens and moss. Many with beautiful patterns and textures. This small rock about the size of an egg is a good example. I wonder how long it took nature to form and grow these tiny wonders.

The situation in Ukraine became dire when Russia launched an attack, forcing many Russians who opposed Putin and refused to join the army to flee the country. Fortunately, my friends and I were lucky enough to have Jewish heritage., which enabled us to repatriate to Israel. We met in Haifa, where we are all struggling to adjust to our new lives. While we are grateful to be safe, we are also aware of the uncertainty that lies ahead.
As a new immigrant, I am faced with the challenge of finding employment while learning Hebrew. Meanwhile, my friends have just graduated from university and are contemplating their next steps in this unfamiliar territory. Forced emigration is never easy, but we are determined to make the best of our situation and move forward.
Despite the challenges we face, we take comfort in the fact that life goes on. We continue to persevere and embrace our new reality, with hope and optimism for what the future may hold.
While life in forced emigration is far from easy, we are doing our best to adapt and carry on. The mother of one of these boys asked me to take a photo of her son and his friend, which serves as a reminder that even amidst hardship, moments of connection and joy can still be found.
It was a bright sunny day thus the sky was beautiful. I always loved the combination of nature with people. Here is my niece enjoying her walk in the lavender field.
