Natures booby-trap. I didn't even see this small barrel cactus; it was so well camouflaged. But I felt it instantly when I got low to hunt with my lens.
The Greylag Goose (also spelled Graylag in the United States), Anser anser, is a bird with a wide range in the Old World. It is the type species of the genus Anser.
It was in pre-Linnean times known as the Wild Goose ("Anser ferus"). This species is the ancestor of domesticated geese in Europe and North America. Flocks of feral birds derived from domesticated birds are widespread.
A walk in the wood, it was a great speciel wood for dogs and with some great mud spot where I could jump into, it was great fun

A pair of Grizzles takes a walk in a sedge meadow. The male is on the left. Actually, he was courting two females. The other female is out of frame.
This is another capture from my Tide Rip Tour outings. All these bear shots were taken off a boat specially designed for bear viewing. I like Tide Rip because they are very conscious of minimizing any disturbance to the bears. They float the boat towards the bears with no motor, and stay a very safe distance (around 100m I think) from them. They do not allow eating on the boat, no perfumes or noise of any kind. This is also a very safe way for the bear-watchers to view these amazing animals.

Bumming around the area led to me hanging around Gibson City waiting for the CN to come through town. While I wasn't particularly going for them, I kept hearing a horn yet couldn't figure out where it was coming from. I took a walk to Lowery Park and started scoping out shots if *anything* showed up, and in the middle of doing so, this appeared with around 10 seconds of warning.
Bloomer 7549, the lone high hood on the roster, takes a cut of grain hoppers from somewhere else on the system towards One Earth on the edge of town.
Despite it being long hood forward, and a relatively boring shot, I was happy to walk away with anything considering I got black betty'd that morning. Another visit will have to be done soon

I'm back after a much needed artistic reset. Sometimes it's good to step away for a while and refocus.
Now that we are settled in at home again, I can think about posting pictures and reviewing all the images from others on Flickr. Our road trip was very memorable and I wasn’t sure where to start with sharing highlights of the trip. I decided I would stay within the fall theme for now since it won’t be long before the colors are gone. There will be plenty of time in the winter to go over other scenes. We took many hikes through the woods and up mountains. This scene is from a Canadian National Park that we had never been to before. It is Kouchibouguac National Park, in New Brunswick. It is the 15th Parks Canada we have visited over the years. There are many boardwalks going through forest, sand dunes and bogs. Seeing it at peak fall color certainly made for a fabulous first impression. I look forward to slowly catching up with everyone.
Autumn in Denmark tends to be rainy and gray, which makes the colours seem that much more brilliant on the sunny days. And these colours were brilliant indeed.
So fortunate to have this just a short walk away and a snowy day is my favourite time to walk in the park. Happy Sliders Sunday!
