Snow Swept up on the Hartside Pass.

It has been raining all day, so decided to head up higher to see if that rain was turning to snow as the forecast said it would...and it did:) don't you just love a bit of snow. It was bloody freezing too, welcome back to winter.

I'm sure this sign was there to welcome photographers onto the property.

I won't have access to Flickr for a few days, so I will try to catch up when I return.

I made a last minute decision to pop into Travis Wetlands hoping for some Warou / Swallow action. I was not disappointed. I took a ton of photos. Here is one of my favourites.

In June we visited friends, who live in Łódź and we went for a walk around the city with them. On the photo you can see the place called Monopolis :)

Former Vodka Monopoly Plant, which was established at the end of the 19th century, transformed now into an office, entertainment and cultural center called Monopolis. Today, Monopolis combines various areas of activity in an unusual way. Guests will easily find restaurants with Italian, Japanese or Mediterranean cuisine or cafes with freshly baked bread, best quality desserts and aromatic coffee. For theater and art lovers, Monopolis offers to admire unique paintings, sculptures, photographs or posters.

Łódź is the third largest city in Poland and a former industrial centre. Located in the central part of the country, it is the capital of Łódź Voivodeship. Łódź was once a small settlement that first appeared in 14th-century records. It was granted town rights in 1423 by Polish King Władysław II Jagiełło and it remained a private town of the Kuyavian bishops and clergy until the late 18th century. The Second Industrial Revolution brought rapid growth in textile manufacturing and in population owing to the inflow of migrants, notably Germans and Jews. Following the end of the Second World War, Łódź informally and temporarily took over the functions of Poland's capital, and most of the government and country administration resided in the city prior to Warsaw's reconstruction. On 8 March 1948, the National Film School was opened, later becoming Poland's primary academy of drama and cinema.

W czerwcu wybraliśmy sieęz wizytą do znajomych mieszkających w Łodzi i razem z nimi zwiedzaliśmy miasto.

Do końca XVII w. W 1820 rząd Królestwa Polskiego włączył Łódź do grona osad przemysłowych w kalisko-mazowieckim okręgu przemysłowym i przeznaczył jej rolę ośrodka tkackiego i sukienniczego.

I've finally, FINALLY finished building my silly little town in Second Life. It goes by the name of Quirk, and it certainly does live up to that name! I'm still trying to work out if I'm proud of it or ashamed of it, because of its oddball weirdness, but at least I can say with certainty that it's done. Well, I'm kind of certain it's done, anyway. Mostly. Maybe. Meh. I don't know anymore. I think I might have melted my brain, working on it. lol

Anyway, if anyone wants to go there for a visit, to look around or take photos or pass out drunk on the furniture or to see how weird I am as a creator of things in SL or just to scoff all the cakes in the café while playing games in the games room, you're welcome to stop by anytime!

Be sure to look at all the little things when you stop by the town. The fine print is often the funniest, I think.

UPDATE: Quirk is now closed. Sorry about that. It had a limited run.
