And eagle perches near Welcome, Washington.
There is an interesting Riddle that explains how Welcome Washington got its name. The US Post Office opened an office there in 1889. John Welcome Riddle was the very first Post Master. Evidence of a community is sparse today. Evidence of salmon and eagles is plenty.

Taken at beautiful Bella's Lullaby. Even though I still see a bit of snow falling outside...and it's April, I'm still saying hello to Spring.
Years ago I enjoyed driving up to the top of this hill and taking photos of the horses, cows, mules and donkeys until I discovered their purpose.
It made me so sad I never returned.

Daffodils,
That come before the swallow dares, and take
The winds of March with beauty.
~William Shakespeare (The Winter's Tale)

A familiar location for me at this time of year. The sun angle, fog and frost make for some interesting scenes.
The sixth month of the year, so six promises ....
I promise to try to listen and love compassionately
Take time to savour the delights of nature
To laugh more and see the lighter nature in humanity
To take risks creatively
Take time to count my blessings and give thanks
Strive to create Heaven on Earth in my garden and anywhere else if at all possible

Sunnmore, my very first full sim build of my own, was inspired by the first life region which is located in Southern Norway. It is a place of unparalleled beauty where the northern lights soar across the sky - a place where the mountains and fjords meet the ocean. It is also the land of Friluftsliv.
Friluftsliv, loosely translated, means "open air life" or "free air life" and is a concept embraced by the country of Norway. Friluftsliv is described as meaning "the simple life" - a way of life that embraces nature and offers the possibility of rejuvenation and restoring balance among living things. It is about living in harmony with nature and returning to our true home. It is what inspired me and lived within me throughout this entire build.
I hope you enjoy this little slice of Norwegian heaven and are able to relax, unwind and be one with nature.
Emm ❤

The Damrak houses first introduced me to the Dutch word gezellig (meaning cozy or homely) I was always wandering in from the train station after dark and I would constantly stop and stare at these houses thinking it felt like an incandescent oasis in a city of fluorescents, warming the night and the Damrak with its soft glow.
When you walk by during the day usually things are shut tight against the throngs of tourists walking back and forth from the central station but at night when the crowds have dissipated the curtains open and the world seems to be welcome to become a witness to the nocturnal activities of the residents.
The Damrak historically was originally part of the Amstel river below the Dam that gave Amsterdam its name, Rak means a straight stretch or place to gain speed, so the Damrak was actually the straight piece of river below the Dam across the Amstel where sailors would pick up some speed on their home stretch to the port of Amsterdam.
I took this on Sept 10th, 2017 with my D750 and Nikon 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens at 44mm 25 sec f/11 ISO100 processed in LR, PS +Lumenzia, Topaz , Luminar and DXO
Disclaimer: My style is a study of romantic realism as well as a work in progress
The gate is always open
Wether the door will be opened or not is yet to see
If you come in peace, respect and love
Well, then you are welcome into my house too
Not only into my garden
I'm feeling privileged to invite the ones I want to enter
And not the ones others want me to enter
If I am to use my time it has to be quality from start till the end
My time is precious
I use it on what is important to me
And not what others say must be important to me
This is definitely the Viking speaking in me, I gladly give you my Viking spirit, I have lots to share
Perhaps it's good for you too
It's awesome for me, hehe
Look what it made me into, theeheee
Why Worry, yes why worry
There should be sunshine after rain
Always
The snow that made Halloween a challenge for the trick-or-treaters created a rare combination of seasons for photographers.
