The Kingsmen, in contrast, came into Northwestern, Inc, Motion Pictures and Recording having just done a stage set consisting of nothing but “Louie Louie” for either 45 or 90 minutes, depending on whose account you read. The band got bored but the crowd went wild. They stumbled into the three-microphone studio with no aim other than to knock all of the stuffing out of the song. The original idea had been to record the song as an instrumental. Then Jack Ely noticed that one of the studio’s three microphones – the one into which he was expected to sing – had been raised several feet above his head. Surrounded by the rest of the band, he allegedly had to stand on his toes, lean back and shout just to make himself heard.

Guitar Gallery: The Quest for Volume presents 55 vintage, world-changing guitars from the 1770s to the present.
Instruments on display span the development of the guitar through the lives and accomplishments of innovators such as Orville Gibson, Leo Fender, and Les Paul, and the musicians who played them to fame such as Bo Diddley, Dave Davies of the Kinks, Eddie Van Halen, and Kurt Cobain.
Throughout 2017, MoPOP will be adding more than 25 iconic guitars from the permanent collection to the Guitar Gallery. These new instruments were used by some of the greatest musicians in popular music. Check back often to see axes once wielded by Jimi Hendrix, Howlin’ Wolf, Eric Clapton, Chuck Berry, Carrie Brownstein, Bob Dylan, and many others.

The Annual Fall for Dance Festival hosts DanceTalks, which are free pre-performance panel discussions. On Friday, Oct. 5th, I was able to catch the end of the Lecture/Demonstration with Ka Leo O Laka I Ka Hikina O Ka La before they performed that evening with the world premiere of "Hula Kāne: The Ancient Art of Hawaiian Male Dance." Kumu Kaleo Trinidad is a great speaker who explained himself clearly and succinctly; his hands were constantly moving as visual expression of his spoken words. I love the sound of his voice.
"Kumu Kaleo Trinidad, known as one of the most exciting and visionary kumu hula (master teachers of hula) of a new generation, will discuss his vision, aesthetic and approach to choreographing for hula. The discussion will include demonstrations by members of his award-winning halau."
This is a mele ma'i, a procreative chant, that charges the audience with sensual energy. Usually placed at the end, this chant encourages the audience to go home and have lots of little keiki, or kids :)

「築跡」為張景堯建築師回台執業建築從2001到2010十年來的作品選集，期待藉由作品的發表，能將事務所的工作內容和對建築、環境設計有興趣或志向的人分享。有感於國內建築師大多忙於業務，不只無暇整理自己的作品，也疏於彼此的相互交流，無法讓設計的能量滋長，因而決定投入事務所人力，編輯第一本作品集，希望藉由出版的公共平台，讓大家有機會接近我們的工作，並進一步產生更多的對話與交流。.

本書共有五個章節，從小型的私人住宅到大區域的都市設計共選入約二十幾個作品，以住宅設計為作品的主軸，探討住宅中人與自然的關係所可能衍生的空間原型。非住宅的作品從學校到商業空間都有觸及。在空間與型式上，每個作品的需求與內容各不相同，但其背後的理念是一致的，那就是不斷地追求人與自然在空間上的意涵，簡單而不單調，豐富而不複雜。.

本書以中英雙語出版，但不是中文搭配英譯，而是對內容因著語文性質做適切的表述。內容力求簡捷明晰，除了台灣的讀者外，也盼能與國際友人分享我們的工作成果。.
