Here are the 2012 short hair styles that are making waves this year. There is a lot of 1960’s and 1970’s style this year thrown in with some modern vibe to shake things up.
Best suited for: Short to medium-length hair
Best color suited for: All
In no particular order....
Mob bob:
Short hair gets some bounce with a LOT of volume and a little messy! Who inspired this look? Brigitte Bardot and Twiggy from their famous 60’s looks.
Afro Hair:
We were not surprised to see the afro back on the hair style menu! After all, fashion has turned back toward the 70’s as well. 2012 has the afro as a soft and dreamy do. You will see this style in a lot of fashion magazines and runways this year.
Rock Crop:
The rock crop is an updated pixie cut. The pixie cut has a lot of followers so it couldn’t just be tossed aside! The updated 2012 version is a little more androgynous and edgy.
Side Part:
Suitable for long, medium or long hair, the side part is the way to go for parts this season.
Center part:
While side part are newly hot for summer, center parts are really the “go-to” style for many women and has been revived from the 60’s and the 70’s styles. This style is really suited for most hairstyles listed here and all colors. It isn’t for just long hair anymore. You can’t go wrong with a center part.
Wet look:
Tie those wet locks up high, or slick them down perfectly, or let them flow free----whichever way you want it just make them have that wet-look finish!
Bangs and Indie Fringe:
Over the last few years, bangs have come back in style. The grungy, strong Indie take on the bangs with its blunt and messy interpretation is hot for 2012.
Very short with bangs:
Although, very short hair will work with any color hair, this style is more suited to dark hair. This style also looks good in any demographic. However, face shape does play a roll. If you have a small forehead you can keep the cut really short, however, for larger foreheads, keep the cut a bit longer. You may think this look has been inspired by the lead character in Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and guess what? You’re right! Lisbeth Sander adds a lot of sex appeal to this short do. Don’t think this cut is all about leather and piercings though, we’ve seen it a lot on the runway and it looked elegant!

Finished quilt will be 6x7 blocks. I'll quilt it so that the larger secondary overlapping squares made up of the triangles are highlighted.
Photo taken with my phone and the skylight is covered in snow so no natural light. I should really use the proper camera! It's much lighter in person.

This volume is primarily remarkable for its excellently preserved early (but not original) binding, as well as the peculiar style of its miniatures. The manuscript opens with an unusual, icon-like prefatory image of the Virgin and Child, possibly added at an early stage for use in private devotion, and is followed by Evangelist portraits facing ornate headpieces. These illuminations are important examples of non-Constantinopolitan Byzantine art.

This roadway in Kingston has been under construction for several months. This morning is the first time it's been open. There was no ceremony. I just discovered the barriers had been removed as I took a morning bike ride. Once the cars realize it's open, there will be a lot more traffic than this. Cars will soon start bypassing nearby city streets, which homeowners will appreciate. Watching the construction has been a reminder of how much work (and money) goes into building even a short stretch of roadway - something we often take for granted.

I have a rather frustrating problem with my sound. When I turn the volume up, the slider falls back down to zero, all by itself.
I've replaced drivers to no avail. I've uninstalled so much software that my computer feels naked. The problem persists.
This is extremely frustrating.
You've got to love those moire patterns though...
[Update: I'd like to extend a special welcome to those who landed up here after doing a search on the word "naked" - I hope the disappointment wasn't too great...]

Anthems: Volume One is an immersive laser installation celebrating Bristol’s epic Drum & Bass legacy, created by artist Marcus Lyall, with a soundtrack compiled by Bristol DnB Collective, RUN. The installation fuses choreographed laser animation and a high-quality sound system to create a synaesthetic experience that brings some of Bristol’s best loved sounds to life. Taking over an empty shop near Cabot Circus, Anthems: Volume One is designed to be a thrilling but accessible experience, bringing together music and art lovers alike.

Introducing the third installment of The Shop's popular photocopy noise textures, the photocopy noise texture pack volume 03!
This time, the set features twenty-nine (29) base textures. They were printed using an unhappy laser copier, low on toner. Then, they were scratched, creased, crumpled, rubbed, and scraped, to unveil some lovely wear patterns. The wear ranged from soft, subtle, all the way to nuclear devastation.
After that analog processing, the textures were scanned in at 1,200 ppi, adjusted for lighting in Photoshop, and then converted to 18"x24" @ 300 ppi documents. They are crisp as a winter morning.
Each texture is available in a positive (mostly black), and negative (mostly white) version.
Additionally, the set features each textures as transparent PNGs (ideal to quickly add in a design, and to color them using a color overlay), and bitmap TIFFs (perfect to use in Illustrator for great, detailed texture effects without hogging down your system resources).
Noise and dust textures are perfect to add a subtle depth to your designs. Using them is very simple: just switch your layer's blending mode to "Screen," and play with the opacity slider.

shampoo
volume and fullness
WHAT IT DOES
Provides body and fullness. Strengthens to give fine, limp hair a lift.
HOW TO USE
Lather. Rinse. Repeat if necessary.
The nearly nude background pieced. I can't show anything else or the recipient will probably know it's for them. Since I shipped yesterday, it should be received around Tuesday.
Not even a week after set #3, let me introduce you to my fourth set of vector noise textures!
While the previous set was focused on stylized speckling, this one is back to being a potpourri of options.
The fifty-two (52) textures have been crafted from shot-on-purpose pictures, and other top-secret source materials. The results of these patient manipulations will allow you to give your work an wide array of weathering artefacts, from a five o'clock shadow to the nuclear apocalypse.
I've also made sure to provide the textures in a range of file formats, to adapt to as many software, and workflow combinations as possible:
- Vector format (Ai CC 2015, CS6, CS3, CS, EPS CS, and PDF)
- Transparent PNG versions
- Inverted, PNG screen textures version (white on black artefacts)
- Bitmap TIFF versions (x2: refined and coarse halftones)
- Sized to fit an 24"x18" canvas @ 300 ppi
I've also assembled a series of color combos from vintage packaging, paint chips, posters, and more, to display these. Feel free to re-use these palettes in your own work.
As usual, the pack is out now on my Creative Market store, for a mere $10.
One more thing. I'm about to launch a small newsletter for The Shop. You should sign up now, in order to receive new release sneak peeks, deals informations, and other general updates from the factory floor. No spam, guaranteed. I will have a fun surprise dropping by next Sunday to the people who place their trust (and their email address) into my care.
