From Susan Tuttle's online workshop: Visual Poetry 2. The photo was a bit light but I thought I'd try it anyway, not sure if I hit the right balance of light, shadow & tone. Would love to experiment more with this....Any tips? critiques welcome too :)

VISUAL LIBRARIES - Leave your Mark.
A collaborative, visual project which encourages you to sign out a Visual Library Book and ‘Leave Your Mark’.
A Visual Library Book is whatever you want it to be, a sketchbook, a journal, a diary, a notepad.
You can ‘Leave Your Mark’ in whatever way you want, ranging from drawing, writing, sewing, adding photographs, markings, printing and sticking. How you make your marks is entirely up to you. All we ask is that you have fun with the different themes. Just borrow it on your library card with other books and materials. If you are not already a member, just ask the staff to help you.
45 Visual Library Books have been placed in Portsmouth Central Library and each has its own theme ranging from; Portsmouth, My City, When I Open My Eyes, Whilst I Was Waiting, Love, What’s in My Pocket and Memories. The intention is for you to feel free to explore the Visual Library Books and choose a theme that you like.

This is how I spent my New Year's Eve. I was almost through with my other journal, so I decided to start a new one for the new year. I decided to stay in the Time Life series of the "Life World Library". This book is on India. For some reason I never did anything to the covers of my other visual journals. I thought arting up the cover of this one would be a good start to a fresh start. I really like how it turned out.

Thirteen is a culmination of work from the MFA in Visual Studies class of 2015’s past two years together. Although their mediums, aesthetics, and concepts may follow different lines of inquiry, what threads their individual practices together is the shared dialog and constant support that has thrived during their academic development. Thirteen showcases each artist’s work individually, but when taken as a whole, their collective influences, connections, and experiences highlight the creativity and inspiration amongst the group.
Exhibiting Artists: Maria Davidoff, Lucas Haley, Evan Isoline, Candace Jahn, Marisa Lee, Kelly McGovern, Jung Min, Bertrand Morin, Annie Oldenburg, Nick Patton, Katie Piatt, Veronica Reeves, and Micah Schmelzer.
PNCA MFA IN VISUAL STUDIES
Boris Groys in his essay “Education by Infection” examines contagion and illness as a metaphor that characterizes a productive condition for art education and practice today. Groys locates examples in the work and philosophy of Kazimir Malevich who portrayed the bombardment of influences and inputs directed at art students as a strain of bacilli, ever adapting and incorporating new forms by the host organism. Groys goes on to suggest the art academy once removed from the world, is now cast open to growing impressions and contradictions ¬¬– whether it be the art market, politics, ethical concerns or entertainment. Students who put themselves in this position are tasked without clear boundaries and often-indefinite solutions for their work. It is my hope that through risk and experimentation, we as students, educators and artists embrace such an uncomfortable and indeterminate space, where as Groys posits, we are both the infected and the infecting. This is both a place of vulnerability and influence. Through this lens the thirteen students in the graduating Visual Studies class of 2015 can leverage their time in art school and all the hard work it has taken, knowing that their efforts as creative artists will be that of adaptation and resilience.

Empresa foi reconhecida com o primeiro lugar na categoria “Rodoviário de Carga” em evento realizado pela OTM Editora, que comemorou seu Jubileu de Prata
A Golden Cargo, empresa especializada no gerenciamento e operação da cadeia logística de mercadorias especiais, como defensivos agrícolas e produtos químicos embalados, foi premiada, no dia 27 de novembro, durante o 44º Concurso de Comunicação Visual e Pintura de Frotas, realizado pela OTM Editora, na categoria “Rodoviário de Carga”.
A seleção das melhores empresas em cada uma das 3 categorias (Rodoviário de Carga, Metropolitano de Passageiros e Rodoviário de Passageiros) aconteceu no dia 31 de outubro e fizeram parte da comissão julgadora os profissionais Carlos Ferro, da Carlos Ferro Arquitetura e Design Ltda., Roberto Takara, da Neoband Soluções Gráficas e Marcelo Fontana, da OTM Editora.
Na escolha das empresas vencedoras foram analisadas a estética, originalidade, segurança, praticidade, identificação e promoção. Dentre as 13 companhias que concorreram na categoria “Rodoviário de Carga”, o projeto desenvolvido para a Golden Cargo pela Wopz Propaganda e Marketing, ficou em primeiro lugar.
Para Luiz Filho, sócio proprietário da Wopz, o prêmio fortalece ainda mais o trabalho e o posicionamento da agência que nasceu e tem seu foco no atendimento ao segmento de transportes, seja no aéreo, rodoviário, fluvial ou ferroviário.
“A preocupação com a identidade visual das nossas frotas sempre foi uma constante na empresa e ser reconhecido por isso é uma honra”, ressalta Mauri Mendes, diretor comercial da Golden Cargo.

U.S. Forces Afghanistan Protective Service Detail Sgt. Jaclyn Guzman from California maintains visual surveillance as shots are fired and explosions erupt from a building in Kabul, Sept. 13. Insurgents attacked the International Security Assistance Force Afghanistan headquarters and the U.S. Embassy in Kabul, Tuesday, with small-arms fire from outside the secure zone surrounding these compounds. Afghan and coalition forces trapped the insurgents in the partially-constructed, multi-story building they were using as a firing position, and conducted a methodical, floor-by-floor clearing operation.
