At 6 Moulsham Street, Chelmsford, Essex is this Grade II listed building that has retained its original exterior features.

The Regent Theatre opened in 1913 as a combined theatre and cinema, however by 1916 it was mainly a cinema only. Updated during the 1930's it remained open until 6th September 1975. Like many other similar buildings it became a bingo hall for some time after that. Now a late night bar and club. Looking at the club's website it would appear that they have done a good job in retaining many of the original interior features as well.

About 2 miles to the East of Whitstable overlooking the Thames Estuary.

It must have looked like a real symbol of dominant power back then when officially opened on 16th November 1932. Home of the Northern Ireland Assembly.

The ground station of this chairlift that climbs to a height of 1443 feet. The only chairlift in Luxembourg. The carrier in view is to transport bicycles.

This is part of the revamping of the old British Homes Stores building in Southend-On-Sea, Essex which will become a Primark store.

The strange (but award winning) building on the right is Southend Bus Station.

The very impressive heritage restoration of the disused Folkestone Harbour Station along with the Folkestone Harbour Arm and old railway bridge across the harbour.

The station is largely from the 1890's (replacing an earlier station) and the signal box dates from 1915.

It has just been featured on Michaell Portillo's Great British Railways programme.

Money from the Regional Growth Fund has helped with this project.

Children on the Pokhara-Butwal road in Nepal.

As I was waiting for my mate to come back with the fixed motorcycle tyre, I heard squeals of delight from across the road. One of the boys I had met on the roadside was playing with his sister on a swing. I watched these kids play for some time and took a few shots. Anxieties of the breakdown situation were soon gone.

This brick weathered by time and tide is on East Beach, Shoeburyness, Essex.

The site was formerly Shorefields brick fields that produced bricks from the 1850's until the 1920's. Originally owned by the Shoeburyness Brick Works until taken over by the Kent based Eastwoods Ltd who continued using the Shorefields site and transporting the bricks to London by Thames Sailing Barges loaded directly from jetties on the beach below the brick producing works.

This very charming city car is part of the Shuttleworth Collection. Displayed here at the Flying Festival 2019 at Old Warden Airfield.

The Fiat Topolino was produced from the mid 1930's until the mid 1950's, with upgrades along the way.

The short lived Thamesway name from the 1990's. In the area covered by this timetable the Badgerline Group's Thamesway operation took over the old Eastern National routes. Thamesway became First Thamesway in the late 1990's before being superceded by First Essex.

People in an autorickshaw on a street in Old Manali, Himachal.

Stuck in the steep and narrow streets of Old Manali, the autorickshaw driver was vociferously trying to get things moving. This got the attention of his little passenger who jumped up to have a look at the excitement outside.

I love the curiosity that children show towards everyday life. We adults on the other hand, engrossed within ourselves at most times, hardly register life around us. Being curious and seeing the extraordinary in the ordinary is a challenge I give myself every time I step out to click street shots.

History going back to the 12th century when Cluniac Monks established a monastery here. Suffered during Henry VIII's dissolution and was passed in to private ownership, noteably the Scratton family. Now the centre piece within Priory Park which was presented to the Borough of Southend-On-Sea as a gift from prominent local businessman R.A. Jones early in the 1920's.

A quick snapshot of AY67 PXM getting close to the end of its journey from Chelmsford, winding through villages away the main road, to Southend-On-Sea, Essex.

Displayed at the Airborne Museum Hartenstein, Oosterbeek, Netherlands.

This wheel guide is most likely from the 1940's, but Kodak had similar guides at the end of the Victorian era for use with their folding camera models. I can remember seeing later versions of this type of guide in a shop window of a specialist photographic shop during the early 1960's. May well have been old stock of course.

N877MG at the Flying Festival 2019 held at Old Warden Airfield by the Shuttleworth Collection.

This Dakota was one of seven D-Day Squadron aircraft at the event. Some, like N877MG, were allowing the general public to view the aircraft from inside.

N877MG saw wartime service on the China-Burma-India supply route. She is currently in the livery representing a Pan American Airways aircraft from 1949.

This is the statue within a monument dedicated to the "Soldier King" of Belgium. It is located at Nieuport, Belgium. H.R.H. King Albert I was King of the Belgiums from 1909 until his death in a mountaineering accident in 1934. A popular King who took charge of Belgium military forces during WW1. There was a small area of Belgium that was not occupied by the Germans and King Albert I was acclaimed for defending it whilst also trying to broker a peace deal with Germany. He was not particularly supportive of British or French ideas of how the war should be conducted.

Founded by Thomas Mildmay in 1565. Rebuilt by William Mildmay in 1758. There is an inscription on the building showing this information.

Just off Shaftesbury Avenue in the West End is this theatre that opened in November 1916. St Martin's Theatre is famed for hosting the long running production of The Mousetrap since March 1974. Previously The Mousetrap had been at Ambassadors theatre, a smaller theatre that opened in 1913, right next door to the St Martin's Theatre.. The Mousetrap ran at the Ambassadors from 1952 until early 1974.
