We had left Chile and made our way to Cerro Torre in Argentina. Unfortunately – the weather wasn’t co-operating. In the end – we got our shots and they were stunning but it took a few days.
Here’s a little un-interesting prelude to what went on behind the scenes. As you’ll find out – it wasn’t much..
Hier wurde ein Holmer Multibunker MB 35 eingesetzt. 35m³ Rübenbunker in ca. 60 sec. entleert. Das Fahrzeug fährt Bodenschonend spurversetzt. Der Motor dieses Koloss ist ein MB V8 mit 598PS.
Bevor man dieses Fahrzeug einsetze, wurden Standarttraktoren eingesetzt, die aber dem leicht gefrorenen Boden nicht Stand hielten. Um hier weiteren Schaden abzuwenden ist man dazu übergegangen dieses Fahrzeug zu nehmen. Alleine der Sound schon von dieser maschine ist ein zig artig.
Das Jahr verspricht eine gute Zuckerrüben-Ernte. In den Ackerbaugebieten sind von November bis Januar oft Rübenmieten am Feldrand zu sehen, die dort über mehrere Wochen lagern. Dabei verlieren die Zuckerrüben täglich einen Teil ihres gespeicherten Zuckers. Temperaturen spielen hierbei eine wichtige Rolle. Wärme ist genauso schlecht wie große Kälte - die wenigsten Verluste gibt es bei moderaten Kühlschranktemperaturen.
I set a 'game camera' in a remote area of the rockys for five months, I was surprised to see 'people'.......I put another camera out there that will take video...they are always so interesting on what may happen by....there were 540 captures....

This is my resident blackbird sitting on my Ariel. Each night just before sunset he sings in his best voice to his rival who is on a neighboring rooftop who in turn replies with his best song. Lovely to watch and hear.

We just got back from a fantastic digiscoping trip to Louisiana - where I met some long-time and a few new Flickr friends, for some amazing bird activity, and then on to Texas for a full week of photos and video of some of the "eye candy" of the bird world.
I shot over 300 videos and 15,000 photos, and I have a lot of work ahead of me. This is a very short clip from the last light of the last night there. I had seen a few Inca Doves on previous visits, but had noted that I hadn't seen any on this trip. Just as the last light was fading I saw a dove land in a nearby tree, but darker and smaller than the MANY White-winged doves there. When I put the scope on it I was thrilled to see that it was a red-eyed Inca Dove. I decided to post a short clip instead of just a photo, as the wind blowing in the trees behind the bird, and the calling of the White-winged Dove in the background perfectly captured the mood of that special moment.

... Et de "mesures renforcées " en IDF. Journée ensoleillée quoique fraiche et venteuse : les parisiens n'ayant pas déserté la Capitale étaient dehors en nombre. Pour ce premier jour, les gestes barrière étaient visiblement assez bien respectés. Après le choc de jeudi soir, un certain soulagement et la crainte probablement que cette "soupape" appréciable soit remise en question.
