Eastern Screech Owl
The Eastern Screech Owl or Eastern screech-owl (Megascops asio) is a small owl that is relatively common in Eastern North America, from Mexico to Canada. This species is native to most wooded environments of its distribution and, more so than any other owl in its range, has adapted well to manmade development, although it frequently avoids detection due to its strictly nocturnal habits.

Not since 1 Jun 26 has a thunderstorm moved through Cheyenne, WY. However, a late day severe thunderstorms formed along a 100 mile line from northern Colorado to east central Wyoming. This storm moved quickly and dropped only 0.17 inch of rain. Total for June is now only 0.34 inch.
This short time lapse clip was taken with my Mission 1 Pro GoPro from my backyard over an 18 minute period. You can watch me on my hill snapping a few shots before I was forced down due to approaching lightning and heavy rain. The next time lapse was from my REOLINK Security camera in the front of my house.
These are my Canva AI hummingbird images made into a short but sweet video with music. Enjoy!

We’ve had a chaos garden in our back yard for quite a few years now. Last year, we had to remove dying bushes from this area in the front of our house and decided to plant a second garden in it. This year it has a lot of bachelor buttons in it. I love to see what pops up in them every day. It’s one of my favorite things about this time of year!

Not exactly a work of art, but interesting behavior nonetheless. I've always thought that rushing (the dance) was like singles dating (trying to hookup) and the weed ceremony is commitment, the ring, engagement, lets raise a family as its only done during and just prior to nesting and maybe it is, but this clip doesn't exactly back up that theory. The ceremony was interrupted and the female didn't miss a beat and continued with the new guy.

Snowy Owl
The Snowy Owl (Bubo scandiacus) is a large, white owl of the typical owl family. Snowy Owls are native to Arctic regions in North America and Eurasia. Younger Snowy Owls start with darker plumage, which turns lighter as they get older. Males are almost all white, while females have more flecks of gray plumage.
