The finale of fireworks put on today by my local council for Australia Day that celebrates the founding of a British colony in Australia in 1788. Not a day to celebrate for everyone. It is called Invasion Day by Australian Aboriginal people because it began the invasion of their lands and their dispossession from them.

Raqui mi nuera, hizo este video....Se econtró hace tres días un pichón caido en el jardín. Lo resguardó en el invernadero, en una canastita, con una botellita de agua caliente . A la mañana lo sacó al jardín y los padres que estaban en el tejado transparente mirando a su hijito fueron rapidamente a darle de comer!!!
Los dos dias siguientes lo vigilaron desde la pared y lo alimentaron.
Hoy está colgado debajo del alero en la canastita y la madre sin ningún temor, lo abriga y le da de comer tranquilamente . Por suerte el pichoncito está animado y se alimenta satisfactoriamente...
No hay como dos madres unidas para que la naturaleza se convierta en un lazo de vida , inseparable y perfecto.

As I made my way into the wood I found half a fresh red squirrel on a tree stump and I could hear the buzzard and its young close by so I ran home and got the Trial cam, luckily the meal was still there when I got back and I could still hear the Buzzards. So I left it and it captured this, the Buzzard coming back for the rest of its feed. :) I can confirm that this is not Cyril as he was at the feeder this morning, I got a quick picture as it ran over the house :)

The Statue has a very detailed frieze around its base. This high-relief frieze was added to the Base in 2008 and is a work of art in itself. It depicts scenes and history throughout the years of the railway, train and tube in London. The attention to detail is extraordinary, with each piece depicting a different time in train railway travel.
