Our home on a foreign land... us in a vast sea of them... we long for where we belong, wherever it is, whenever it is... but not here, not now... hanging onto love, and flowers, we wait... helplessly...

A little blurry- I was on a boat heading out to "Stingray City" to go swimming with the stingrays :)

Aaaaand yes I know, the horizon is slighty tilted but the boat was also moving... :p

Minimal editing :D

Thank you everyone for the encouragement :)

I'm feeling better about everything today.

I would sum up my fear about the future in one word: boring. And that's my one fear: that everything has happened; nothing exciting or new or interesting is ever going to happen again ... the future is just going to be a vast, conforming suburb of the soul

Monument Valley is often thought to be US national park, but while its beauty certainly would qualify it for such distinction it is actually a Navajo Nation Tribal Park. It is located at the northern Arizona border with Utah. This photo was taken just outside of the tribal owned View Hotel. The area is a famous setting for numerous western themed movies.

I have previously posted a similar photo that was an HDR taken with my 14-24 mm lens and not stitched. I do like this version better as I think there is much better detail. We were so lucky with the summer cloud formations and their location within the photo. Note the vehicles on the foreground road to provide some size perspective.

Shot with Sigma 10-20mm EX Ultra wideangle lens.

I wanted to give the audience the impression of how huge the cathedral is.

Some adjectives I played around with but found quite appropriate when taking in views from the many overlooks in the Island in the Sky district of Canyonlands National Park. Even with a focal length pulled back and some angling to attempt to capture the landscape seen, the wide angle lens I had just didn't seem to quite express and reproduce the feelings of...a vast poetic immense of boundless space. In metering this image, it was a matter of finding a location along one of the nearby canyon floors that had a little bit of shadow to get the exposure I wanted. I was then able to work with control points and color control points in Capture NX2 to bring out the contrast, saturation and brightness I wanted.

Dots d'ombre

Wij zingen van

We maken een kringetje

Uit de verte zijn wij stippen

Verbonden door wat draad

En dan

De aarde is

Van verder weg

Een lichtje in het donker

Vele lichtjes

Van de melkweg

Draaien dansend

Stipjes van schaduw

Houd elkaar maar stevig vast

Patrolling the vast expanse of the untamed western frontier from Fort Legoredo is the United Studs 3rd Cavalry Regiment.

Inspired by Evancelt's cavalry builds, I've been planning a series of wild west themed builds for a while. I've finally got started, but keep getting distracted with fig barfs... so here are my cavalry! Hopefully have some actual MOCs up soon!

Oh, vast trees of vivid green

In the watery mirror, you are seen

Reflecting beauty all around

Invading eyes without a sound

A vision captured in the light

A beautiful, growing, untamed sight

That in natures mirror, now is seen

Thrilling my mind, oh, vast trees of green

Handheld nightshot.

There were about 3 lightings every 10 seconds, so it was easy to capture one ;)

Cabañeros National Park is a vast protected natural area located between the provinces of Ciudad Real and Toledo, in Castilla-La Mancha. It is considered the best example of Mediterranean forest in Europe and is distinguished by its great biological and landscape diversity, covering more than 40,000 hectares.

Its main features include:

Landscape: It is divided into two distinct areas:

La Raña: A vast plain with herbaceous vegetation where holm oak forests proliferate and large herbivores such as deer graze. It is an ideal habitat for steppe birds such as the little bustard and the stone curlew, and you can also observe storks and great bustards.

La Sierra: Composed of extensive rocky areas and scree covered with dense Mediterranean forests and scrub. Holm oak forests, cork oak forests, oak forests, and Pyrenean oak forests dominate here, along with scrubland such as rockrose and heath. It is home to large birds of prey such as the black vulture, the Spanish imperial eagle, and the black stork, as well as large mammals such as deer, roe deer, and wild boar.

Geology: Materials such as quartzite and slate predominate. In some areas, especially on the Boquerón del Estena route (considered a Site of Geological Interest), fossils dating back more than 400 million years can be found, indicating that the area was once covered by a sea.

Hydrography: Numerous streams and creeks cross the park, with their greatest flow in autumn and spring, contributing to a mosaic of flowers during these seasons. The park is bordered to the east by the Bullaque River and to the west by the Estena River.

Biodiversity: It is home to a rich fauna, including endangered species such as the Iberian lynx and the Spanish imperial eagle. Its flora is equally valuable, with different bioclimatic zones and 22 species classified as vulnerable or of special interest.

Cultural Values: The name "Cabañeros" refers to the old huts used by shepherds and charcoal burners. Traditional activities such as cork-cutting and beekeeping are still practiced.

The park offers hiking trails, guided off-road tours, and activities such as birdwatching and canoeing. It is an idyllic place to enjoy nature in its purest form at any time of year, with hot, dry summers and cold, wet winters. The deer rut in autumn (September-October) is particularly noteworthy, a natural spectacle for observing large deer.

Rainbow appeared a few minutes after a storm cell passed through the city. From my vantage point 18mm on an APS-C body wasn't wide enough to capture the entire arc, and no option to zoom out with my feet either. Still managed to capture most of it, though. Shot in Denver, Colorado.

If I could have 10 and only 10 CD's, one of them would definitely be "Exile in Guyville". She played a vast majority of it at the show...15 Dec 2010.

Enjoy your sunday evening,

I am waiting for Dumazile, an approaching typhoon.

Peaceful early morning

A harp upon which the wind makes music

A host that marches to victory over the earth

A traveler bending to the storm

Handsome and cool and bosky

An athlete that shows its well-developed muscles

A fair, flaxen-haired sister with golden ringlets

A maiden that has taken the veil

A match found for me at last

They had traveled for mellenia, Falling through the vast emptiness between gallaxies, low on fuel and energy, when they arrived at the outskirts of a small spiral galaxy. The radiation from the small nearby sun was barely enough to push at their spacecraft, but they managed to maneuver to the precius eggs laying there for the taking.

When they reached the third egg from the star there was a lot of uninteligible noice on the radio frequenzies but it disapeared quickly when the egg popped, and all the satisfying yoke like magma was stored in the nearly empty tresholds.

The build:

It was a fun undertaking to achieve the form i wanted to expres, an mix between a biological form parred with industrial looking greebels.

Off couse it is fairly easy to achieve 100 studs when one uses big pannels, but in this case it became a little tricky when i opted for vertical and angled build. The original idea was to give it a more airy apearance, by not do too much greebles in between the wing pannels, and even thoug you dont see them very clear they give more 'life' to the MOC, than only tilled plates, so i opted for this apearence you see here.

Stat:

Hight 115 studs

width 89 studs

pieces ca 2600+

Hope you like it.

Our inner demons

This vast view over the rocky desert landscape looking towards the La Sal Mountains was stunning in and of itself, but at golden hour it was taken to another level. No photograph could ever replicate what you experienced standing here, it was truly stunning to behold! All I can say is that you have to experience a drive through Arches National Park at golden hour at least once in your life. It begins to reshape your understanding of creation, you see a landscape clothed in glorious light and you get a glimpse of how it was always meant to be. God is glorious and His creation reveals more and more of just how beautiful He is!
