My love. Riding through the wild west, hearts untamed,

With you, my love, by my side, unashamed.

Beneath the vast and endless sky,

We chase the horizon, you and I.

Galloping through fields of gold,

Stories of love and adventure unfold.

In your embrace, I find my peace,

In the wild west, our spirits release.

Stars above, our nightly guide,

With every sunset, dreams collide.

Together we roam, forever blessed,

In the rugged wild, our love expressed.

I love you my babes ❤️️

A vast ocean of darkness fills the rocky banks of Arizona's largest canyon. The fleeting embers of glowing rock fade fast as the sun sets for the day. Looking from above, the Man with No Name diligently scans the vast depths below. While no stranger to unfriendly encounters, the sheer vastness of this land - as well as the lack of knowledge of what dangers may lurk within it - compels this part-time gunslinger to have additional firepower by his side.

above the vast expanse of the mountains, an umbrella perches like a guardian on the edge, sheltering nothing but space and light. the weathered wooden fence stretches across the frame, guiding the eye toward the distant peaks, whispering of boundaries against an endless sky. the starkness of black and white enhances every shadow, every line, and every contrast between human design and the untamed natural world. this image, captured in a remote mountain setting, is a quiet meditation on solitude, balance, and the delicate intersection of man-made and natural beauty.

This is "Angel Oak", a Southern Live Oak tree on Johns Island, South Carolina near Charleston. Its age has been estimated at 400+ years but some estimates put it much older. It is still very much alive in spite of being damaged by hurricanes. The amazing thing about it is the vast canopy from its many twisting branches. The longest branch is 187ft long and its canopy shades an area of 17,200 square feet. See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angel_Oak.

Pictures cannot do justice to what a magnificent tree this is, and I found it surprisingly difficult to capture. A wide angle will get the full canopy but one loses some of the enormity of the trunk and the delightfully twisted growth. A closer view of the trunk loses the mass of branches and some of the wonderful light mottling from the early morning sun. I opted for an in-between crop to keep the light quality but also to try to convey some of the detail on the trunk. The back side of the tree offers some interesting perspectives as well, with some of the branches acting as interesting leading lines. Unfortunately you are not allowed to setup a tripod within the mulched area around the tree so I wasn't able to get a satisfactory shot from behind. This is my last picture from the series I took on recent trip to Charleston/Johns Island/Seabrook Island/Kiawah Island. So many more things I wanted to capture but couldn't get to.

I've been here before with my point-and-shoot but I wanted to get a good quality picture without any other people in the frame. Unfortunately there are lots of signs that can be seen around the base, I would have preferred a more natural look. The tree is in a fenced and guarded park so I arrived promptly at 9am opening so I could get my photo before other tourists encroached on the photo opp. This is also the best light of the day (as the park closes at 5pm, well before sunset).

EDIT: Taking up Tim's recommendation below, I was able to photoshop the signs out making for a more natural-looking pic. I'm still no photoshop expert and I'm sure a forensic photo analyzer would find sure signs of my tampering, but it's close enough for my satisfaction.

Please, don't use my pictures without my permission

American Bison

The American Bison or simply Bison (Bison bison), also commonly known as the American Buffalo or simply Buffalo, is an American species of Bison that once roamed North America in vast herds. Its historical range, by 9000 BC, is described as the Great Bison Belt, a tract of rich grassland that ran from Alaska to the Gulf of Mexico, east to the Atlantic Seaboard (nearly to the Atlantic tidewater in some areas) as far north as New York and south to Georgia and, according to some sources, further south to Florida, with sightings in North Carolina near Buffalo Ford on the Catawba River as late as 1750. It nearly became extinct by a combination of commercial hunting and slaughter in the 19th century and introduction of bovine diseases from domestic cattle. With a population more than 60 million in the late 18th century, the species was down to just 541 animals by 1889. Recovery efforts expanded in the mid-20th century, with a resurgence to roughly 31,000 wild Bison today, largely restricted to a few national parks and reserves. Through multiple reintroductions, the species is now also freely roaming wild in some regions in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, with it also being introduced to Yakutia in Russia.

Vast and solitary, St George's is one of the most magnificent 18th-century church in Dorset. It rises from the rocky, treeless and dramatic peninsula of Portland and is the masterwork of a local mason named Thomas Gilbert whose grandfather supplied the Portland stone used to build St Paul’'s Cathedral. The interior is fabulously preserved with its lectern, pulpit, box pews and galleries all surviving. It is a 'preacher’s church’ with all the seating facing the twin pulpits – one for reading 'the Word’ (scripture), the other for lengthy sermons. The sprawling churchyard is a treasure trove of fabulous headstones and memorials that tell tales of murder, piracy and adventure in a gloriously atmospheric setting. There are inscriptions to Mary Way and William Lano, who were shot and killed in 1803 by a press gang, and Joseph Trevitt, an assistant warder at Portland Prison who was murdered by a convict in 1869.

The history of St. George's Church began in August 1753. A committee of Portlanders was formed to decide whether to put further finances into the dilapidated St. Andrew's Church or to erect a new church at a more accessible position. St. Andrew's suffered from an unstable site and was prone to landslips (notably those on the east side of Portland in 1665 and 1734). Within two months a decision was made, with a survey of the old church finding that repairs would be at least half the cost of a new building. A year after the completion of the church, a house was built nearby for the parish clerk, this building later becoming The George Inn.

The church was closed in 1914 for many reasons and fell into further disrepair after. In the 1960s however, the church came under the protection of a newly formed group, the 'Friends of St George's Church', who were able to restore the church. Now no longer needed for regular worship, the church is redundant resting in the care of the Churches Conservation Trust. It was declared redundant on 16 April 1970, and was vested to the Trust on 27 October 1971.

...accounts for the vast majority of mass in the observable universe.

I was looking out over a vast wildlife refuge and wondering when they were going to begin allowing the ponds to fill with water? Seems like it takes them a bit longer every year. Then out of the corner of my eye I notice some movement. Yep, it was this little guy. He walked up on me and suddenly noticed me at the same time I noticed him.

I almost laughed because he tried to act nonchalant as if he had actually intended to meet me here at this exact time. He walked back and forth in front of me kicking the water and suddenly he began taking a bath. This was halarious, because it went on and on for at least 30 minutes. Even other birds started showing up and joining in. A Killdeer that I really wanted to take photos of, but I didn't want to do anything to interrupt this guy's performance.

He looked at me with those puppy dog eyes and it was as if we were already friends because he had no intention of stopping this little charade. Animals are so cool, I thank God for his absolute love for us that he has create this cornucopia of birds and animals just to amuse us. THANK YOU JESUS! ❤️❤️❤️

----------------------------- JESUS ✝️ SAVES-------------------------------

SALVATION THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST - ALONE!

12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."

❤️❤️ IT'S ALL JESUS AND NONE OF OURSELVES! ❤️❤️

16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the SALVATION of everyone WHO BELIEVES: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 17 For in the gospel a RIGHTEOUSNESS FROM GOD IS REVEALED, a righteousness that is by FAITH FROM FIRST TO LAST, just as it is written: "THE RIGHTEOUS WILL LIVE BY FAITH." (Romans 1:16-17)

16 KNOW that a man is NOT justified by observing the law, but by FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be JUSTIFIED BY FAITH in CHRIST and NOT by observing the law, BECAUSE BY OBSERVING THE LAW NO ONE WILL BE JUSTIFIED. (Galatians 2:16)

1. Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2. BY THIS GOSPEL YOU ARE SAVED, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.

3. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4. that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5. and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. 6. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8. and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.

9. For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them--yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. 11. Whether, then, it was I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed. (1 Corinthians 15:1-11)

7. Therefore Jesus said again, "I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. 8. All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9. I am the gate; whoever enters through me WILL BE SAVED. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10. The thief comes only to STEAL and KILL and DESTROY; I have come that they may have LIFE, and have it to the FULL. (John 10:7-10)

1 Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. 2 For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge. 3 Since they did not know the righteousness that comes from God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness. 4 Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.

5 Moses describes in this way the righteousness that is by the law: "The man who does these things will live by them." 6 But the righteousness that is by faith says: "Do not say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?'" (that is, to bring Christ down) 7 "or 'Who will descend into the deep?'" (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say? "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart," that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: 9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame." 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile--the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Romans 10:1-13)

Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!

So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus took the death WE so richly deserved for us and died in our place. The good news is, there's no more punishment for sin left. WE, you and I were all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

A man going on a mountain path in the vast mountains

The Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation (often simply called "The Henry Ford") is a vast historical attraction that celebrates the creativity, innovation, and ingenuity of American culture and technology.

Location and Scope: The museum is part of the 235-acre The Henry Ford complex (formerly Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village), located in Dearborn, just outside Detroit.

Unique Collection: The museum is renowned for its collection of monumental artifacts representing key moments in U.S. history. Famous pieces include:

The actual rear seat where President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated.

Rosa Parks' bus, where her act of civil disobedience took place in Montgomery.

The Allegheny Steam Locomotive, one of the largest steam locomotives ever built.

Various milestones in automotive, industrial, and aviation history.

Purpose: The museum opened in 1929 (originally as the Edison Institute) and its mission is to inspire personal innovation by exploring the achievements of other pioneers.

The vast monument that has stood since 1979 on the Place du Vieux Marché where she was burned responds to a double recognition: it is both a church to honor Saint Joan of Arc and a civil memorial to commemorate the heroine celebrated by France on the second Sunday of May. In Rouen, the Joan of Arc celebrations take place on the Sunday closest to May 30. Its architect, Louis Arretche, wanted to reconnect with the tradition of many old Norman churches by giving the building the shape of an upturned boat: to do this, he rediscovered the principles of traditional shipbuilding and the wooden structure remains visible above the nave. The exterior, resolutely modern, evokes the sea with a covering of slate or copper scales.

A couple walking on Long Beach, Tofino. Backed by tree-lined cliff, the beach is long and wide, facing a vast ocean with powerful waves constantly pounding the shore, the view was pretty awe inspiring.

The life blood of the high desert here in eastern Idaho is precious water distributed through a vast system of canals. This one is just west of Hamer, Idaho. I'm reminded of the children's song...

"Give," said the little stream, "Give, oh! give, give, oh! give." "Give," said the little stream, As it hurried down the hill; "I'm small, I know, but wherever I go The fields grow greener still."

"Give," said the little rain, "Give, oh! give, give, oh! give." "Give," said the little rain, As it fell upon the flow'rs; "I'll raise their drooping heads again," As it fell upon the flow'rs.

Singing, singing all the day, "Give away, oh! give away." Singing, singing all the day, "Give, oh! give away."

Rising high above the vast olive-carpeted plateau of the lower Murgia, Ostuni has long been an awe-inspiring sight for those travelling across Puglia. Strong defensive walls and tumbling clusters of white-washed houses wind around the hillside, at the top of which, proudly surveying the surrounding land, sits the magnificent Gothic cathedral.

First founded by an indigenous tribe some 600 years before Christ, Ostuni’s long and varied history saw it pass from the Romans to the Ostrogoths, from the Lombards to the Saracens, from the Byzantines to the Normans, from the Hohenstaufen to the Angevins and from the Aragonese to the Bourbons. Traces remain from each domination but most of what visitors can see today dates from between the 1400s and the 1700s.

The most distinguishing characteristic of Ostuni, and the reason for its taking the epithet La Città Bianca, is its uniformly white buildings. Originally the practice of lime-washing the town's served as a means of lightening up the dark, labyrinthine mediaeval streets but in the 17th century it became a matter of life and death and was used to limit the depredations of the plague.

Wandering through the streets today, visitors are charmed by Ostuni's mediaeval layout. The narrow back streets, little passages and flights of steps make it delightfully easy to lose one's bearings! Suitably, however, the climax of any visit arrives when you reach the highest part of town, home to the imposing Archbishop’s palace and the 15th century Concattedrale with its curvaceous, symmetrical façade and rose window.

The views from Ostuni are, by themselves, reason enough to make a trip there. Wonderful vistas abound from all angles, the best of which offer 360-degree panoramas of the surrounding countryside and the Adriatic Sea.

The church was begun by the Franciscans in 1520 in a site previously occupied by the small church of Santa Maria del Prato, belonging to the Humiliati. Works were however halted in 1537, and in 1591 the Lomellini family continued the reconstruction, directed by Taddeo Carlone.

In the early 17th century the rich Baroque decoration was executed, with Andrea Ansaldo in charge of completing the works, and in particular the dome. The current Neoclassicist façade dates to 1830-1840s, designed by Carlo Barabino. The church was damaged by Allied bombings during World War II.

Nestled among the vast clouds of star-forming regions like this one lie potential clues about the formation of our own solar system.

This image from the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope features AFGL 5180, a beautiful stellar nursery located in the constellation of Gemini (the Twins).

At the center of the image, a massive star is forming and blasting cavities through the clouds with a pair of powerful jets, extending to the top right and bottom left of the image. Light from this star is mostly escaping and reaching us by illuminating these cavities, like a lighthouse piercing through the storm clouds.

Stars are born in dusty environments and although this dust makes for spectacular images, it can prevent astronomers from seeing stars embedded in it. Hubble’s Wide Field Camera 3 (WFC3) instrument is designed to capture detailed images in both visible and infrared light, meaning that the young stars hidden in vast star-forming regions like AFGL 5180 can be seen much more clearly.

Northamptonshire, where we live, is perhaps one of the least known counties in England despite the fact that the M1 and the A14 pass through it. It is a rural county with rich farmland and the remains of two large medieval forests. There are only half a dozen large towns, of which the largest is Northampton itself, several miles to the south of here.

Formerly known as a shoe and leather producer, and for its iron and steel industry based mainly at Corby, Northamptonshire is now mainly a light industrial and storage and distribution centre with vast warehouses either lining or close to the main through routes. It has also been required to build vast new housing developments to help reduce the housing problem in the south-east of England.

The River Arts District consists of a vast array of artists and working studios in 22 former industrial and historical buildings spread out along a one mile stretch of the French Broad River. This eclectic area is an exciting exploration of arts, food and exercise. Plan on spending a day or more visiting artists working in their studios, grabbing a bite of local cuisine or a brew and taking time to find art that’s perfect for your world.

More than 200 artists work in paint, pencil, pottery, metal, fiber, glass, wax, paper and more. As unique and individual as their art, so too are their schedules. There are no official “Open Hours” for the River Arts District, but at any given time throughout the year, you will find a plethora of open studios and galleries. If you are coming to see someone in particular, your best bet is to check in with them before your visit. Do it here, online via our search feature, or check the Studio Guide.
