Le Pouillot véloce est commun et largement répandu dans son vaste habitat.
C’est un oiseau de taille moyenne. Les parties supérieures sont vert-olive teinté de brun terne. Les rémiges et la queue sont brunes avec un fin liseré vert-olive pâle.
Les parties inférieures sont blanchâtres ou blanc-jaunâtre clair. Les flancs et les côtés de la poitrine sont teintés ou finement striés de jaune. Les couvertures sous-caudales sont blanc-crème teinté de chamois de façon variable. Le dessous des ailes présente des couvertures et des axillaires jaunes.
Recently one of my friends made a joke, saying that I am The River Thames' personal photographer. Basically he was eluding to the fact that the vast majority of my snaps include the Thames... and upon further inspection by myself, I realised this is true! So, for a change here is a London Scene without the Thames. In view is St Mary Axe (or the Gerkin) and some London buses zooming by on their daily business of picking people up.
I went for sunset and happy I did. Although you can't see much of the sunset (at least not as much as you would near the river), the sky was a gentle orange and pink hue. It was a freezing evening. But happy I ventured out :)

A closer photo of the mature buck posted earlier which I watched on a vast area of open heathland rounding up and leading its young away, seen here wonderfully camouflaged in the bracken right up to the top of its antlers.

TAT: Wat Khun Inthapramun is an ancient temple that was constructed during the Sukhothai period, its vast size still outlined by brick ruins. The largest and longest reclining Buddha statue in Thailand, 50 meters from topknot to feet, is enshrined here. Originally, the reclining Buddha image was housed in the image hall, or Wihan, but after a fire raged through the temple, the image was abandoned to the elements for hundreds of years. Many Thai kings have paid homage to the image, including King Borommakot in 1753, King Rama V in 1878 and 1908, as well as Rama IX, who presented royal Kathin robes in 1973 and 1975.

Ter hoogte van Regenburg kon ik een aan tal MRCE vectron's vast leggen waar onder de 193 714, die binnen kort in Dienst komen....
Op maandag is het tegenwoordig vaste prik dat TCS de Green City Trip rijdt vanaf Bad Bentheim naar Utrecht/Amsterdam.
Na het naar school brengen fiets ik over het algemeen even langs Deventer Goederen om te kijken of er wat leuks staat. Dat was 5 september 2022 het geval want er stond een lossen Green City Trip zonder loc met een mannetje in een oranje hesje erbij. Even later kwam loc 102001 aangereden vanaf station Deventer en deze reed langs de trein naar de andere kant. De meneer vertelde mij dat ze om 9.50 richting Zutphen zouden vertrekken volgens de dienstregeling. Aangezien het 9.40 was zou ik hard moeten fietsen om op dit fotopunt uit te komen. 9.50 leek me trouwens onhaalbaar omdat het (goederen)pad naar Zutphen een vertrek van .58 heeft vanaf Deventer Goederen.
Maar goed, de passagiers (die de ramen op hadden gezet) waren sowieso al niet blij gezien het gevloek en getier dat ik hoorde vanuit de trein. Ik denk dat het kopmaken ze te lang duurde. Als je dan onderweg naar huis bent, wil je ook snel naar huis natuurlijk.
Na een vermoeiend fietstochtje richting Deventer-Oost kwam iets na negenen de fotogenieke trein voorbij tussen Snipperling Aansluiting en de A1 over de Schipbeekbrug richting Zutphen.

Spanning two province, Songkhla Lake is the largest natural lake in Thailand and covers an area of over 1,000km squared. Although it’s called a lake, it is mostly tidal, the water brackish, and it’s geologically a lagoon.
The focal point of the LBJ Ranch is the LBJ Ranch House, the home of President Johnson and a center of political activity for more than 20 years. Leaders from around the world visited the Johnsons' here, and during the Johnson Administration it became known as the Texas White House.
The original section of the home (left) was built out of the native limestone fieldstone by a German immigrant, William "Polecat" Meier in 1894. In 1909 the President's aunt and uncle, Frank and Clarence Martin, bought the house and added the main central portion of the home. The Johnson's bought the home from Lyndon's aunt in 1951. The house needed considerable shoring up, and the Johnsons made a number of additions, most notably the master bedrooms and the office wing.
President Johnson was the first President to create a functioning White House away from Washington. In 1972 the Johnsons donated the Texas White House to the National Park Service and the American people. After the President's death in 1973, Mrs. Johnson continued to live at the Ranch part time until her death in 2007.
Lyndon B. Johnson (1908-1973), also called LBJ, served as the 36th president of the United States from 1963-1969. A moderate Democrat and vigorous majority leader in the United States Senate, Johnson was elected vice president in 1960 and acceded to the presidency in 1963 upon the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. During his administration he signed into law the Civil Rights Act (1964), the most comprehensive civil rights legislation since the Reconstruction era, initiated major social service programs, and bore the brunt of national opposition to his vast expansion of American involvement in the Vietnam War.

Vaste prik op zondagochtend is de staaltrein van CD Cargo. Op 26 januari kon ik de 383 015 'afstrepen' wanneer de loc onderweg was richting Bad Bentheim en uiteindelijk Nymburk.
Alhoewel ik al een aantal jaren regelmatig in België te vinden ben, was ik nog niet eerder de havens van Antwerpen in geweest en dat terwijl je hier naar mijn mening talloze interessante fotopunten hebt met hele leuke bedieningen op soms echt unieke locaties. Met wat creativiteit kun je een locatie al snel omzetten in een leuke fotostek en dat gebeurde dan ook zeker op maandag 4 juli, de eerste keer dat ik dan eindelijk de havens introk samen met maar liefst vijf anderen. De weersverwachtingen waren erg goed en op een maandag valt er over het algemeen genoeg te zien in de havens en dus werd er 's ochtends tegen 6 uur vertrokken vanuit Etten-Leur om via Roosendaal naar Antwerpen te rijden.
Naast op de bonnefooi wat proberen te treffen stonden er sowieso een aantal bedieningen en ritten op het programma waarvan de eerste vlak over de grens te vinden was. De bedoeling was om te beginnen net buiten de Combinant terminal om de aanvoer DOW naar Terneuzen vast te leggen. Alhoewel het in de hele omgeving strakblauw was, hing er een dunne band met hoge mist over delen van België en Nederland en precies deze band gleed in zijwaartse richting over Antwerpen heen waardoor we nogal ongeluk hadden met het weer. We zouden dan ook de eerste helft van de ochtend last hebben van deze mist. Toen we aankwamen bij het kruispunt vlak voor onze stek tussen de Combinant terminal en de brug over het Schelde Rijn Kanaal zaten we helaas al in de mist en kwam daar zelfs te vroeg de trein aangereden waardoor we deze misten. "Gelukkig" was het dan nog mistig wat de pijn verminderde, maar het was zeker geen goed begin van de dag.
Hierna reden we even richting Luchtbal om de auto's te tanken en gingen we vervolgens naar Bundel Angola om te kijken of Europorte al reeds aanwezig was met de graantrein die op maandag ten opzichte van de rest van de week overdag vertrekt richting Frankrijk. Hier was het net weer zonnig maar helaas was er geen trein te bekennen. Inmiddels waren we al wel getipt over een trein van Railtraxx, namelijk de afvoer IVC die moest rijden naar Antwerpen D.S. Petrol om nog een aantal ketelwagens op te halen bij de terminal van Vopak. Er werd dan ook vanaf Bundel Angola vertrokken richting Bundel Petrol via nog een aantal andere Bundels om te zien of er nog wat anders gaande was. Echter, net nadat we vertrokken waren en we het spoor overstaken nabij de aansluiting naar IVC zagen we daar Railtraxx al staan voor een gesloten sein waarop we besloten zonder omweg direct naar Petrol te rijden. Echter zou het allemaal alsnog even duren gezien de bruggen tot 8:00 dicht waren voor het treinverkeer. In de tussentijd konden we wat stekken proberen en kwam de zon zo hier en daar lichtjes door de mist heen prikken.
Na een tijdje radiostilte kwam daar de bevestiging dat Railtraxx nu wel echt onderweg was richting ons en snel de Noordkasteelbrug zou oversteken. Helaas zou daar de zon nog niet goed staan en aangezien deze nu al regelmatig tevoorschijn kwam wilden we het risico op een foto tegen de zon in niet lopen. We besloten dan ook stelling te nemen aan de Polderdijkweg met de leidingbruggen over het spoor waar het allemaal moest gaan gebeuren. Na een tijdje wachten sprong het sein open en kwam niet veel later de eerste groene kikker van de dag door de bocht gereden.
Het is 8:59 als in een voorzicht zonnetje de Railtraxx 6481 de groep Nederlanders passeert net voor Antwerpen D.S. Petrol met de afvoer IVC die bestaat uit een aantal schuifwandwagens. Op de Bundel werden de schuifwanden vervolgens afgehaakt zodat de loc richting de Vopak terminal kon gaan om daar een aantal ketels op te halen. Later in de ochtend zou het geheel dan naar Antwerpen Zuid sporen alwaar daar de wagens in de Linz-Shuttle gerangeerd werden!

In the battle-grounds of life only strong will survive. After a fight, a male Blackbuck (Antilope cervicapra) was sending the defeated rival with a hard chase in style. In the peak of actions they were frozen in their natural habitat. Interestingly, the vast natural grassland was the battle ground for the males and they were huge in numbers, trying their strengths to establish the dominance hierarchy. In certe dimensioni del paesaggio la luce sembra giocare con la vastità. Crea, la luce, singolari geometrie d'acqua, con la complicità dei profili scuri della terra. Nella volta celeste sono invece le nuvole a filtrare il magico alito che colora e dona la vita, la dimensione, la profondità e la bellezza. In questi casi il paesaggio stesso diviene semplicemente momento, attimo fuggevole, sensazione, suggestione. Ancora più affascinante in quanto finalmente orfano della presenza umana ..... ..
Vaste prik op de zaterdagmorgen is de styreentrein van DB Cargo vanuit Rotterdam over de Betuweroute naar Duitsland. Echter op zaterdag 21 maart was zoals zo vaak Emmerich-Oberhausen dicht, dus moest de trein omgeleid worden via de Brabantroute.
De DB Cargo 193 338 passeert de inmiddels, vanwege begroeiing, onbruikbare stek aan de Broekdijk in Hulten met de styreentrein vanuit de Rotterdamse Botlek richting Duitsland en uiteindelijke bestemming het Oostenrijkse Herzogenburg!

De laatste jaren komen er steeds meer treinverbindingen bij tussen Nederland en landen gelegen in midden en oost Europa zoals Polen en Tsjechië. Zo rijdt er sinds kort op vaste basis een ČD Cargo keteltrein tussen Rotterdam Botlek en Tsjechië welke een tijdje bij LTE en gister voor het eerst bij RFO heeft gereden. Ook DB Cargo heeft sinds januari er een interessante intermodale trein bij welke vanaf het Tsjechische Lovosice via Duisburg-Ruhrort Hafen naar Rotterdam Europoort gaat. Deze Lovosice-Shuttle rijdt onder andere op zaterdagmiddag binnen vanuit Duitsland via de Betuweroute richting het Rotterdamse. Als de route Emmerich-Oberhausen gesloten is wordt deze trein niet via Bad Bentheim omgeleid, zoals met de meeste treinen gebeurd van en naar Polen en Tsjechië, maar via Venlo aangezien de trein een tussenstop heeft in Duisburg-Ruhrort Hafen. Echter vraag ik mezelf af hoe nuttig deze tussenstop is want tot op heden is het "Duisburg deel" van de trein eigenlijk altijd slecht beladen. Ook op 20 februari was dit het geval toen de trein omgeleid werd via Venlo. Gelukkig voor ons zat het deel uit Duisburg achterop de trein waardoor deze niet tot nauwelijks te zien was. Wel pijnlijk was dat eigenlijk de DB Cargo 193 368 "Starke Cargo" voor de trein gepland zat, maar deze werd in Duisburg omgewisseld voor een nummertje lager, namelijk de 193 367. De reden hiervoor was dat de "Starke Cargo" een ATB storing had opgelopen welke helaas tot op heden nog steeds niet is opgelost.
Zo zien we in een heerlijk avondzonlicht te America de DB Cargo 193 367 passeren met de fraaie Lovosice-Shuttle onderweg naar Rotterdam Europoort. Helaas was de foto niet volledig scherp en dit was mede de aanleiding dat ik een dag later een nieuwe lens heb aangeschaft welke gelukkig wel z'n werk doet. Dit is dus ook een van m'n laatste foto's die ik gemaakt heb met mijn eerste lens!
