A symbol utilized in the second degree, what does this symbol mean? The stairs also play an important role in two other parts of Alchemy, namely Jacob’s ladder in the first degree, and the 30th degree of Knight Kadosh. The ladder symbolizes the lessons learned in life, which, if properly used, brings us higher and higher in knowledge; however, if lessons are forgotten the danger of falling is continuously present. The most common usage of the ladder is indeed ascension to Heaven, or coming closer to God. In Islam, Mohammed is said to have seen a ladder which he climbed up to reach God. In Egyptians tombs, many amulets have been found in the shape of a ladder. In the Book of the Dead it says, “My steps are now in position so that I may see the Gods.” Most usage of the ladder is symbolizing to go from this world to the next. However, this thought only assumes that there are two worlds, whereas most cultures assume three, the present, the higher (like Heaven) and the lower. Thus, the ladder can be seen to symbolize the different stages. Each stage can then be subdivided into smaller ones (like three, five and seven) to symbolize further, smaller, breakthroughs needed to be able to advance. It is also interesting to note that the number of steps is an odd number. Indeed, Vitruvius noted that most ancient temples had odd numbered steps. He cited the reason for this to be that any pilgrim climbing the stairs would necessarily arrive at the top with the same step as the one he started out with. Hence, if the first step was taken with the right foot, it would be the right foot to reach the top. This was considered a good omen. It could also be because in the Pythagorian system, odd numbers were considered more perfect that even numbers. It can therefore be said that the usage of odd-numbered stairs was intended to symbolize the perfection the candidate was expected to reach. Also interesting is the exact number of stairs. Some tracing boards of he 18th century show only 5 steps, whereas in Hemming lectures (used in England) the total number of steps was given as 25, divided into series of one, three, five, seven, and nine.

ILRI has been working in Odisha since 2013 in collaboration with Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT), the Orissa State Cooperative Milk Producers' Federation (OMFED) and the state government’s DAH&VS and F&ARD to improve the state's livestock productivity through better use of crop residues and locally sourced feed supplements within the framework of the CGIAR Cereal Systems Initiatives for South Asia (CSISA).
An international workshop on 'Improving Livestock Feeding Practice and Enhancement of Feed and Fodder Availability in Odisha' was organized jointly by Society for Management of Information, Learning and Extension (SMILE) and ILRI in 2015.
Based on the workshop’s recommendations, Odisha's F&ARD Department is recommending in 2016 the preparation of a comprehensive fodder development plan for Odisha.

The Bush Lie-Bury is a reverse memorial to the 8 years (a following wake) of fallen lives and squandered opportunities that has led this country down such a terrible path.
By day, activists used bobble-head paper mache puppets rendered in the likeness of Bush, Cheney and the rest of his gang to force Dallas police to arrest them, giving us a cathartic if only symbolic relief. At night, activists agitated and inspired onlookers with light projections in downtown Dallas affirming and making our values visible. The creative tactics utilized earned the attention of the media who has largely ignored objections to the memorial.
Utilizing the collection of type and ornaments available at the UW-M letterpress studio, students will type set and print their own 2-color bookmarks. Skills covered will include: letterpress terminology, use of pica and composition sticks, setting up a form, use of California job case, proper printing technique with the Vandercook SP-15, and general discussions of typography as it relates to letterpress.

A sampling of recent subjects include Girls Girls Girls (the world's first and only all-female Mötley Crüe tribute band), Tazzie Colomb (the world's longest competing female bodybuilder), and LACTIC Incorporated (an avant-garde clothing brand that takes the detritus of corporate life and reinterprets it into one-of-a-kind structural garments that challenge the polarization of gender).
With my current project "Life is Drag", I am documenting the most singular and innovative performers of the currently exploding alt-drag and neo-burlesque scenes. I am 3 years into this project and have so far made 250+ portraits, created in my Brooklyn studio as well as during residencies - in 2021 in New York City (The Cell Theater, Bushwig) and in Pittsburgh (The Kelly Strayhorn Theater, Blue Moon Bar, Bloomfield Garden Club), and in 2020 in New England (3S Artspace).
Over the course of my 2 month Wave Pool residency, I worked with 25 performers - including members of Cincinnati based ODD Presents drag haus and Smoke & Queers burlesque troupe, as well as with other performers from the tri-state area.
The residency also included an exhibition featuring this ever-growing archive, as well as multiple live performance events. These photos are from the closing reception at Wave Pool on April 30th, 2022, featuring performances by:

The great East Window was glazed c. 1350-60, utilizing almost entirely white, blue, red and yellow glass. This limited palette, together with the overall organization of the window, is a true forerunner of the Perpendicular style. The detail of the window however is equally convincingly Decorated and can be closely compared (apart from the colouring) to the chancel clerestory windows at Tewkesbury Abbey (of c. 1340-4). The window is canted (4+6+4 lights) almost as if it were a huge triptych or 'monumental hieratic reredos in glass' (Jill Kerr); the overall sculptural effect is indeed remarkable. The claim that the window is a massive war memorial to the Battle of Crecy (1346) is really little more than speculation. It is more probably the result of royal patronage or of a combined outpouring of national pride coinciding with the completion of the architectural framework.
The theme is perhaps best described as 'The Virgin and Christ in Majesty'. It has long been called the Coronation of the Virgin, but, though the Virgin and Christ are certainly there in the place of honour, they are not unduly emphasized and both are already crowned. The window is arranged in nine tiers, the bottom two, flanking the Lady Chapel entrance, plainly glazed, with simple borders. The canopies become more elaborate, though less detailed, the higher up one goes, almost forming a hypothetical structure independent of the actual window tracery. The backgrounds to the main tiers are alternately red and blue, though red is doubled down the centre and its flanking blues ornately patterned. The window seems amazingly complete from a distance; closer examination however reveals that much has been amended.

BELL-SLEEVE SWEATER DRESS
This dress utilizes the knitted sweater pattern by Pandora from "Welcome Home Outfit for Petite Blythe" found here: pandorasknittingbasket.blogspot.com/2011/02/welcome-home-...
However, I made some changes to the pattern to create a bell-sleeved sweater dress. Here's how you can make it, too!
For the main part of the dress: After all of the increases have been made on the main sweater piece, continue for 16 rows instead of the listed 6. Omit the rib on the bottom.
For the sleeves: Knit and purl (on opposite sides) for four rows (I knit flat); make 1 in each stitch (16 stitches total) on the fifth row; on the sixth row, purl across; bind off. There is no rib on the sleeves.
Belt: Braid a tie (the instructions for the headband below will help). Weave it in and out where the dress hits your Blythe at the waist, skipping two stitches between. Tie it in the center once it is on your doll.
HEADBAND
Very tightly braid three long strands of thin yarn together, knotting off both ends. I used a worsted weight yarn that came in 4-ply, and halved the ply. It's best to begin with long strands and then cut the resulting braid down to fit. Tie in a bow around Blythe's head, fitting it like a hat rather than like today's type of headband (i.e., not under the hair, but over it). Keep the strands as long as you want them.

A few utilization cages as of this date had been placed on the steep, loose-shale slopes of the Green River Formation that this federally listed biennial species (Phacelia argillacea) grows on to see if they would help with predation from digging animals (mainly squirrels) and to try to increase seed production of this very rare global endemic. Reportedly the cages were not terribly successful in this regard.
Herbivory and other damage from native wildlife was not the primary threat, but a compounding factor in connection with a species with as few as 200 plants at this location (and having only one other location, and with no federal lands ownership). Habitat loss and impacts from railroad and UDOT and past poor grazing management and incursions of invasive species (such as Hound's tongue) plus direct impacts from sheep that would be herded directly down these steep slopes thereby trampling plants of this species in the process were the bigger threats.

This technology transported the visitor from the United States to a small village in Tanzania. Through the use of interactive technologies throughout the experience, the user is invited to experience a small portion of the lives of the locals through the eyes of a 13 year old villager. In addition, NFC and Facial Recognition Technologies were used to track visitor interactions with specific displays to judge the effectiveness of each individual element.
