Background Story: Tyshen are odd magical beings, whose origins are unknown. Many people theorize how these beings came to be, but there is no definitive proof to these theories. Although the Tyshen are quite powerful with magic, they are unable to utilize their magic alone. In order to obtain access to their arsenal of magical abilities the Tyshen must form a special bond with a human. In the beginning humans and their Tyshen worked together and treated one another like friends. Though as time passed humans became more and more greedy, with their desire for power. Now days many of the Tyshen are treated more like tools. Often times pushed to their limits in their 'masters' desire for more power. Due to the fact that only the human can break the bond between them, many of the Tyshen have been forced to accept this type of treatment from their humans in order to survive this world. Though what few realize is that the stronger the bond between the two, the stronger the Tyshen become. This strength however starts over when a Tyshen creates a bond to a new human.(WIP suggestions welcome)
Modern Background: Back when magic roamed freely throughout the land a great war broke out between the Tyshen, their masters, and those that sought to use them for evil deeds against others. Many fell victim to these horrible deeds, but in the end the Tyshen faded into myth.... Or so it was believed. Shortly after the war ended, the many of the Tyshen with their newly found freedom, became extremely picky over who they would bond with. Many blended in with their surroundings, appearing to be nothing more than a simple villager, or townsfolk. Years passed and occasionally stories would rise about strange beings, but for the most part they were simply brushed off as ramblings of a lunatic. Due to the many years of being nothing more than myth, many of the Tyshen have become restless. It seems as though they have forgotten why they have become so weary about creating bonds, or they just don't care. Slowly they have begun creating bonds with humans. Some urging their new found masters to wreak havoc upon unsuspecting people, while others simply have a bad judge of character. Things are beginning to stir, and it appears as though history is doomed to repeat itself.
Beatrix's Story: Looking like a creature from a Frankenstein movie, Beatrix has earned herself the name 'Metallic Doll'. She's pretty strong against most types of magic, though seems to be the weakest when fighting either a fire, ice, or water magic user. Like all of the other Tyshen she must rely on a human to utilize her magic, but unlike most Tyshen she has no emotion of her own. The reason behind her nickname is quite obvious to those that know her. Her magic is based around metal, and in many ways she acts like a doll mainly in the sense that she cannot feel or express emotion without a human to feed off of. The only real emotion she can express on her own, is curiosity, and the drive to protect her human. (WIP)
I've utilized a sweet little bird from a child's book and copied him onto fabric. A lovely cuckoo clock vintage ad from an old catalog is the backdrop.
The sweet little bird sits on a nest of dried, fragrant rosebuds in a pocket of tulle.
A bronze piece of faux leather has been turned into a little plaque which reads Sweet Little Bird. Darling gold butterflies with crystals, paper flowers and pink feather sit on either side of the bird.
Pretty vintage floral fabric, ribbon, lace, buttons and a vintage bauble adorn the top.

There prints were created by utilizing "test prints" from my regular poster runs. Test prints are usually throw aways that I use to check color, registartion or just to clear clear ink out of the screen. I re-use these prints until layers upon layers of various designs over-print. Sometimes, they make great stand-alone pieces. The skulls are printed 6-up on a sheet and then trimmed down to 7" x 7". Each print is unique.

The following is a synopsys of the story "Lentil" by Robert McCloskey
See : "Old Sneep" by Lance Mannion
Lentil is a boy who desperately wanted to make music. Trouble was he couldn't sing. "Whenever he opened his mouth to try, only strange sounds came out." And "he couldn't even whistle because he couldn't pucker his lips." But one day he buys a harmonica and his problem is solved. He teaches himself how to play---"his favorite place to practice was the bathtub because there the tone was improved one hundred percent"---and from that day on Lentil is the most musical kid in Alto, Ohio, which comes in very handy when Colonel Carter, Alto's most famous citizen, comes home for a visit.
There's a character in the story named Old Sneep. Old Sneep is a cranky geezer who spends a lot of time alone muttering to himself about how life ain't what it oughta be. "Old Sneep didn't much like anything or anybody. He just sat on a park bench and whittled and grumbled." When he hears that the Colonel is returning and that the whole town will be turning out to welcome him with cheers, speeches, and a parade complete with a brass band, Sneep is less than amused.
Seems Sneep knew the Colonel when they were both young and he was never impressed. Sure, the Colonel is rich and he gave the town its library, a hospital, and a park, but that doesn't make him any better than anybody else, in Sneep's opinion, and folks in town are fools for treating the man as if he is.
Sneep decides Colonel Carter needs "takin' down a peg or two."
Comes the day of the Colonel's arrival and everybody turns up at the train station. The train pulls in, the Colonel appears at the door of his private car, the band leader raises his baton, and---
Slurp!
A wet sound from above.
Everybody looks up.
There's Old Sneep, sitting on a nearby rooftop, sucking on a slice of lemon.
Shlish!
The sight, and sound, of Sneep enjoying his lemon causes everybody's lips to pucker and their cheeks to contract.
"The whole band looked up at Old Sneep. The mayor gave the signal to play, but the cornetist couldn't play his cornet, the piccolo player couldn't play his piccolo, the trombone player couldn't play his trombone, and the tuba player couldn't play his tuba, because their lips were all puckered up. They couldn't play a single note! The musicians just stood there holding their instruments and looking up at Sneep sucking on the lemon. The leader looked helpless. The people were too surprised to move or say a thing. And the mayor wrung his hands and wore a look that said: 'Can't somebody do something, please!'"
Lentil and his harmonica come to the rescue.
The world is full of Old Sneeps. Not all Old Sneeps are old, not all of them are men. But they're all the same. They're all convinced that the rest of us are fools too easily carried away by the prospect of a party. The sight of other people having a good time makes them grumpy and they become determined to rain on the picnic. Of course they don't admit that this is what they're up to. What they say is that they're just telling the truth for our own good, truth they somehow grasped while the rest of us were being too silly or stupid or caught up in dreams and illusions to catch on to for ourselves.
Under the pretext of doing the rest of halfwits the favor of enlightening us morally or intellectually, they make us watch while they sit there and suck lemons.
Here is another depiction of Old Sneep that was done as an illustration to the book.

I create bodies of work that explore subjects such as gender, artifice, and spectacle. Utilizing processes ranging from directorial to anthropological, I showcase exuberantly irrepressible personalities who revel in challenging clichés associated with masculinity and femininity. A sampling of recent subjects include Girls Girls Girls (the world's first and only all-female Mötley Crüe tribute band), Tazzie Colomb (the world's longest competing female bodybuilder), and LACTIC Incorporated (an avant-garde clothing brand that takes the detritus of corporate life and reinterprets it into one-of-a-kind structural garments that challenge the polarization of gender).
With my current project "Life is Drag", I am documenting the most singular and innovative performers of the currently exploding alt-drag and neo-burlesque scenes. I am 3 years into this project and have so far made 250+ portraits, created in my Brooklyn studio as well as during residencies - in 2021 in New York City (The Cell Theater, Bushwig) and in Pittsburgh (The Kelly Strayhorn Theater, Blue Moon Bar, Bloomfield Garden Club), and in 2020 in New England (3S Artspace).
Over the course of my 2 month Wave Pool residency, I worked with 25 performers - including members of Cincinnati based ODD Presents drag haus and Smoke & Queers burlesque troupe, as well as with other performers from the tri-state area.
The residency also included an exhibition featuring this ever-growing archive, as well as multiple live performance events. These photos are from the closing reception at Wave Pool on April 30th, 2022, featuring performances by:
- Kiara Chimera (host)
- Stixen Stones
- Vanta Black
- Honey Stix-Chimera
- Montana Ba Nana
- Tara Newone
- Clinica Deprecious
- Calamity Addams
"Life is Drag" was the 2022 Vance-Waddell Residency, and as a part of that I selected a Cindy Sherman photograph and Janine Antoni sculpture from the Vance-Waddell collection to inform and expand on the installation for this project.

About Terra Cotta
Terra cotta, also commonly spelled terracotta, is a building material created from clay. This becomes widely utilized because when compared to other building materials, it is cheap and easy to give shape; it is essentially just a clay product fired under specific techniques.
Terra cotta is one of the oldest building materials and sculpting media. The term simply means "baked earth" in Latin. Used in ancient times to make pipes, cooking pots, bricks, cornices and architectural ornaments, its principal use today is in the sculpture and tile that bear its unmistakable orangish color and porous texture.
The Process
1. Clay
Terra cotta is made from clay. However, different types of terra cotta have different names based on where the product is made. This is partly because clay harvested from the ground in any particular region will have a slightly different makeup than clay found elsewhere. However, wherever the terra cotta is made, the first step is finding suitable clay deposits and harvesting the clay from the ground.
2. Refining
The raw clay needs to be refined before it is made into terra cotta pots, tiles or other products. This process involves drying the clay and then screening and filtering it to remove impurities that affect the consistency, color and other properties of the clay. Depending on the purity of the clay pit from which the material is removed, raw clay has foreign matter, minerals, rocks and other items that need to be removed during this process.
3. Molding
Once it has been refined, terra cotta clay is often pressed into molds. Roofing tiles, flooring tiles and architectural embellishments are just a few of the mold types that are used for terra cotta in building material applications. The clay is firmly pressed into the mold so that it takes on the shape before firing.
4. Firing
Once the terra cotta has been pressed into the appropriate shape, it needs to be fired in order to cook and harden. Terra cotta falls into the category of low fire clay. This means that you must fire it at a lower temperature than many other clays or it will melt. This can damage the kiln as well as ruin the work. Normally, terra cotta is fired at a temperature between 2,048 and 2,079 degrees Fahrenheit.
Additional Information
Terracotta female figurines were uncovered by archaeologists in excavations of ‘Mohenjo-daro’ (3000-1500 BC). Along with phallus-shaped stones, these suggest some sort of fertility cult and a belief in a mother goddess. The ‘Burney Relief’ is an outstanding terracotta plaque from Ancient ‘Mesopotamia’ of about 1950 BC.
The ancient Greeks' Tanagra figurines are mass-produced mold-cast and fired terracotta figurines. Significant uses of terracotta have included Emperor Qin Shi Huang's Terracotta Army of China, built in 209–210 BC.
Pre-colonial West African sculpture also made extensive use of terracotta. The region’s most recognized for producing terracotta art in this part of the world include the Nok culture of central and north-central Nigeria, the Ife/Benin cultural axis in western and southern Nigeria (also noted for its exceptionally naturalistic sculpture), and the Igbo culture area of eastern Nigeria, which excelled in terracotta pottery. These related, but separate, traditions also gave birth to elaborate schools of bronze and brass sculpture in the area.
French sculptor Albert-Ernest Carrier-Belleuse made many terracotta pieces, but possibly the most famous is The Abduction of Hippodameia depicting the Greek mythological scene of a centaur kidnapping Hippodameia on her wedding day. American architect Louis Sullivan is well known for his elaborate glazed terracotta ornamentation, designs that would have been impossible to execute in any other medium. Terracotta and tile were used extensively in the town buildings of Victorian Birmingham, England.
nrhp # 99000265- Utilizing prison labor, the two-story stuccoed concrete building was completed in 1935. Located just outside the eastern wall of the Colorado State Penitentiary, it continued to serve as a correctional facility for women until 1968. Service facilities, including a dining room and recreation room were on the lower level, while two rows of 15 cells were located on the upper level. The upper level also included a sun porch, office space, and a hospital/examination room. The building now houses the Colorado Territorial Prison Museum.

It utilizes a patented process for interpreting calorie burn called “sensor fusion” developed by BodyMedia, Inc. This process involves collecting a range of body-data using multiple physiological sensors instead of a single sensor, which is what other calorie estimation devices such as pedometers and heart rate monitors rely on. It’s this multi-sensor approach that enables bodybugg® to “see” the wearer’s context (whether they are sitting, sleeping, jogging, walking, etc.) that makes bodybugg® such a reliably accurate device for calorie expenditure estimation.

For three of my final pictures, I utilized my nearly endless supply of costume pictures to manipulate as the final required. All pictures of this costume were taken last year and belong to both myself and my friend, the photographer, Ashley Conrad. The background image was found on morguefile and is linked here: mrg.bz/wguLmY
For this first picture, I had the idea to take one of my old, washed out pictures with an inappropriate, grassy background and touch it up, removing most of the obvious flaws in the costume, leveling the colors, matching the eyebrows, bringing out the eyes, and making the background more appropriate for the character the costume is emulating. As my submission for "based on a photograph," I wanted to show real-life work that one might do to touch up and bring out a client's photographs.
First, I brought the background image into photoshop. I then took my original image (provided in full on the next slide) and brought it onto a layer above the background. Because my original image was larger than the background image, holding the shift key to constrain proportions, I down-sampled the original image to avoid upscaling the background and cluttering my image with extra pixels. I then used the quick selection, magnetic lasso, and lasso tools to make an accurate selection of me in the picture. Holding the “Shift” key allowed me to add to my selection while holding the “Alt” key allowed me remove from my selection. Once I had a satisfactory selection, I hit “Refine Selection” which allowed me to smooth, feather, contrast, and shift the edge of my selection before choosing to “Output to: New Layer with Layer Mask.” My selection was brought to a new layer with a layer mask, showing only the selected area while the rest was hidden. This nondestructive editing method allowed me to click on the mask layer, choose the “paintbrush” tool, and correct my mistakes by painting in the opacity of my image over the background. While masking parts of my image, I chose to cover tangled strands of stray hair in the mask, making the wig look smoother than it was in reality.
Once I was done masking and refining my image, I chose to retro-actively correct the original mistakes in my costume. For me, the most glaring mistakes were loose threads, seam lines along the golden trim, the places where the trim met, glue strands, a few small blemishes on my face, the point where the collar meets the purple fabric of the shoulder, places along the inside of the jacket with extra fabric hanging off, and the clearly visible Velcro on the inside of the jacket. Using the patch tool, I removed small blemishes from the costume and from my face. Glue strands hanging from the underside of the silver pauldrons were selected in small increments with the patch tool. This selection was then dragged to an unaffected section of purple fabric, which carried over the fabric’s consistency and hid the glue strands. The same was done for small bumps along my cheek and any small inconsistencies along the jacket, such as small strings and some of the more obvious seam lines. With these done, I found that the patch tool was not the best for larger areas, particularly those where I wished to hide entire objects as one. It was with extreme caution that I used the healing spot tool to highlight points, such as the line between the collar and shoulder, some points where the jacket trim met, extra fabric, and the Velcro. Often, this would result in a blur of pixels that I would then have to undo and attempt again, sometimes in combination with the patch tool. Some seam lines would blur or discolor no matter what my attempts to hide them, but looked better unaltered when the joints and other borders were cleared. Once I was satisfied with the costume correction, I began recoloring the picture.
Using the quick selection and lasso tools, I made a selection of both eyebrows, refined the selections, outputted them to a new layer with a layer mask, and then adjusted the new layer’s lightness to make my eyebrows appear to match the white wig. I then selected the mask for the layer and used the paintbrush with varying levels of opacity in order to better blend the selection into the picture. I used this same method on the eyes to bring the irises to a more vivid and striking shade of blue and to bring out the pupil in the right eye which had been hidden by dull coloring before. With this done, I went to “image,” “adjustments,” and then ”levels” to balance the black and white exposure using the black point slider, white point slider, and gamma slider to give the relatively “flat” looking original picture more tonal depth. I leveled the background image and slightly desaturated the original image, using the “hue and saturation” options in order to better match the background image. The picture felt a little bare around the edges, so I made a new layer, made a square selection around the edges, inverted my selection, then refined the selection, feathering and shifting the edges to give it a darkened border at the corners when filled with black using the paint bucket tool.
Finally, I saved my file for the web as a jpeg and down-sampled the image with constrained proportions to have a width of 800.

Originally built in 1820 in the Federal style, utilizing the foundation of an earlier cabin dating to 1795, the mansion known as Bellevue was built for the family of Newport’s founder, General James Taylor, whom once owned an estate that covered the entire East Row Historic District, including Mansion Hill, and the modern-day towns of Dayton, Kentucky and Bellevue, Kentucky. The neighborhood of Mansion Hill is named for the mansion, which was once larger and more imposing than it is today. The house suffered a major fire in 1842, after which it was rebuilt in the Greek Revival style, with a one-story ionic portico on the principal facade, facing the river, and service wings flanking the central pavilion of the house. In 1848, following the death of James Taylor, the house passed to his son, Colonel James Taylor, whom lived in the house and ran the estate until his death in 1883. By the time of the death of Colonel Taylor, the house had fallen into disrepair, and was subdivided into a boarding house. The vast Taylor estate was subdivided at this point into the various towns and neighborhoods that today exist east of Washington Avenue in Newport, creating the suburban towns of Dayton and Bellevue. By 1887, the house, by this point in a deteriorated state, was slated to be demolished in order to run Overton Street all the way down to the riverfront, with the grounds of the house, all that remained of the estate, slated to be subdivided into lots upon completion of the street. However, the grandson of General Taylor, Jon Taylor, and his wife, Betty Washington Taylor, stepped up to save the house, leading to a major renovation that saw the original service wings demolished, and the house was reoriented away from the river and towards 3rd Street with a new Queen Anne-style iron porch on the rear, which became the new front facade, and a new service wing added to the original front facade, extending towards the river, covering the original front entrance. The grounds on either side of the mansion were subdivided, and several grand houses in various Victorian styles were built on the lots. In 1919, the house was sold by the Taylor family, and was bought by the Vonderhaar & Stetter Funeral Home, whom remained in the building through several owners until 1996. The house has since become home to a local law firm, whom has updated the structure, while restoring obscured or altered original features. Today, the building is the oldest structure in the city of Newport, and has survived for two centuries, lending the name to both the surrounding neighborhood and a nearby suburb.

A dabbawala; also spelled as dabbawalla or dabbawallah; is a person in India, most commonly in Mumbai, who is part of a delivery system that collects hot food in lunch boxes from the residences of workers in the late morning, delivers the lunches to the workplace utilizing various modes of transport, predominantly bicycles and the railway trains, and returns the empty boxes to the customer's residence that afternoon. They are also made use of by prominent meal suppliers in Mumbai where they ferry ready, cooked meals from central kitchens to the customers and back.
In Mumbai, most officegoers prefer to eat home-cooked food rather than eat outside, usually for reasons of taste and hygiene, hence the concept. A number of work-from-home women also supply such home-cooked meals, delivering through the dabbawala network.[1]
The word "dabbawala" when literally translated, means "one who carries a box". "Dabba" means a box (usually a cylindrical tin or aluminium container), while "wala" is an agentive suffix, denoting a doer or holder of the preceding word.[2] The closest meaning of the dabbawala in English would be the "lunch box delivery man".
Origins[edit]
In 1890, Mahadeo Havaji Bachche started a lunch delivery service with about a hundred men.[3] In 1930, he informally attempted to unionize the dabbawallas. Later, a charitable trust was registered in 1956 under the name of Nutan Mumbai Tiffin Box Suppliers Trust. The commercial arm of this trust was registered in 1968 as Mumbai Tiffin Box Supplier's Association. The current president of the association is Raghunath Medge.
Supply chain[edit]
A collecting dabbawala, usually on bicycle, collects dabbas either from a worker's home or from the dabba makers. As many of the carriers are of limited literacy (the average literacy of Dabbawallahs is 8th grade[4]), the dabbas (boxes) have some sort of distinguishing mark on them, such as a colour or group of symbols.
The dabbawala then takes them to a designated sorting place, where he and other collecting dabbawalas sort (and sometimes bundle) the lunch boxes into groups. The grouped boxes are put in the coaches of trains, with markings to identify the destination of the box (usually there is a designated car for the boxes). The markings include the railway station to unload the boxes and the destination building delivery address.
At each station, boxes are handed over to a local dabbawala, who delivers them. The empty boxes are collected after lunch or the next day and sent back to the respective houses.
Dabbawallas tend to belong to the Varkari sect of Maharashtra and consider Tukaram's teachings of helping each other to be central to their efficiency and motivation.[5]
Appearance and coding[edit]
Lunch boxes are usually marked in several ways: (1) abbreviations for collection points, (2) colour code for starting station, (3) number for destination station and (4) markings for handling dabbawala at destination, building and floor.[6]
A typical dabbawala lunch.
It was estimated in 2007 that the dabbawala industry was still growing by 5-10% per annum.[7]
The dabbawalas have started to embrace technology, and now allow for delivery requests through SMS.[8] A colour-coding system identifies the destination and recipient. Each dabbawala is required to contribute a minimum capital in kind, in the form of two bicycles, a wooden crate for the tiffins, white cotton kurta-pyjamas, and the white Gandhi cap (topi). Each month there is a division of the earnings of each unit.
Uninterrupted services[edit]
The service is almost always uninterrupted, even on the days of severe weather such as monsoons. The local dabbawalas and population know each other well, and often form bonds of trust. Dabbawalas are generally well accustomed to the local areas they cater to, and use shortcuts and other low-profile routes to deliver their goods on time. Occasionally, people communicate between home and work by putting messages inside the boxes (See: The Lunchbox film); however, with the rise of instant communication such as SMS and instant messaging, this trend is vanishing. Since 1890, when the dabbawalas formally came into existence, none of them had ever gone on strike until 2011 when the members decided to head towards Azad Maidan to support Anna Hazare in his campaign against corruption.[9]
Economic analysis[edit]
Each dabbawala, regardless of role, is paid about eight thousand rupees per month (about US$131 in 2014). Between 175,000 and 200,000 lunch boxes are moved by 4,500 to 5,000 dabbawalas, all with an extremely small nominal fee and with utmost punctuality.
It is frequently claimed that dabbawalas make less than one mistake in every six million deliveries.[10] However, this error rate is conservative as it is estimated from Ragunath Medge, the president of the Mumbai Tiffinmen's Association in 1998, and is not from a rigorous study. Medge told Subrata Chakravarty, the lead author of the 'Fast Food' article by Forbes.[11] that dabbawalas make a mistake "almost never, maybe once every two months" and this statement was extrapolated by Subrata Chakravarty to be a rate of "one mistake in 8 million deliveries." [12]
The ABC has produced a documentary on dabbawalas [13] and Prince Charles visited them during his visit to India; he had to fit in with their schedule, since their timing was too precise to permit any flexibility. Charles also invited them to his wedding with Camilla Parker Bowles in London on 9 April 2005. Owing to the tremendous publicity, some of the dabbawalas were invited to give guest lectures in some of the top business schools of India, which is very unusual.
The New York Times reported in 2007 that the 125-year-old dabbawala industry continues to grow at a rate of 5–10% per year.[7]
Awards, Studies and recognition[edit]
Awards / Accreditations[edit]
ISO 9001:2000 certified by the Joint Accreditation System of Australia and New Zealand [14]
Studies and accolades[edit]
In 2001, Pawan G. Agrawal carried out his PhD research in " A Study & Logistics & Supply Chain Management of Dabbawala in Mumbai". He often presents his results on the efficiency of Dabbawallas in various fora.[15]
In 2005, the Indian Institute of Management (Ahmedabad) featured a case study on the Mumbai Dabbawallas from a management perspective of logistics.[16]
In 2010, Harvard Business School added the case study The Dabbawala System: On-Time Delivery, Every Time to their compendium for its high level of service (equivalent of Six Sigma or better) with a low-cost and simple operating system.[17]
Six Sigma myth[edit]
It has been frequently asserted that dabbawalas were awarded a Six Sigma certification by Forbes magazine. This is a myth perpetuated by the news media who inferred the accreditation from the 1998 article in Forbes.[11] In 2007, an explanation was provided by the lead author of the article, Subrata Chakravarty in a private email correspondence to Gauri Sanjeev Pathak:
"Forbes never certified the dabbawalas as being a six-sigma organization. In fact, I never used the term at all. As you know, six-sigma is a process, not a statistic. But it is commonly associated with a statistic of 3.4 errors per million operations, and that is what caused the confusion … . I was impressed by the efficiency and complexity of the process by which some 175,000 tiffin boxes were sorted, transported, delivered and returned each day by people who were mostly illiterate and unsophisticated. I asked the head of the organization how often they made a mistake. He said almost never, maybe once every two months. Any more than that would be unforgivable to customers. I did the math, which works out to one mistake in 8 million deliveries—or 16 million, since the tiffin carriers are returned home each day. That is the statistic I used. Apparently, at a conference in 2002, a reporter asked the president … whether the tiffinwallahs were a six-sigma organization. He said he didn't know what that was. When told about the 3.4 error-per-million statistic, I'm told he said: "Then we are. Just ask Forbes". The reporter, obviously without having read my story, wrote that Forbes had certified the tiffinwallahs as a six-sigma organization. That phrase was picked up and repeated by other reporters in other stories and now seems to have become part of the folklore."

DTx utilizes a 2D and 3D bar-coding system that gathers and maintains all critical information of a product to the assembly serial number. Using a proprietary automated serial number tracking system, DTx maintains traceability of all major components within an assembly to the assembly serial number. This information is updated with each revision or repair performed on an assembly. Handheld scanners record component manufacturer’s serial number into SQL database indexed to the assembly’s top level serial number as the automated device history record. The serial numbers are recorded during the assembly process to achieve 100% traceability. Label information includes: component serial numbers, operator identification, assembly time, testing packaging, shipping, repair, and upgrade information.
Additionally, DTx is able to customize a wide variety of labels to include the material used, the text included on the label (to include 1 D, 2D & 3D bar codes), the size of the label within certain limitations, and graphics. Customized labels are not printed until needed, and the individual work instructions generated during the production process indicate which labels to apply
I utilized a self portrait by cayusa, in conjunction with an image taken by the Hubble Space Telescope to depict the enigmatic qualities of "dark matter" and "dark energy", terms utilized in cosmology. Human beings would not exist if the physical properties of the universe were different from what they are, and "dark matter" and "dark energy" are important factors for understanding the properties of the universe, including how the universe came into being.

FORT IRWIN, Calif. -- The 2916th Aviation Battalion utilized an off-cycle window in their calendar March 20 - 23 to conduct brigade-level training in the National Training Center's "Box". The exercise culminated at the Fort Irwin Weed Army Community Hospital (WACH) March 23.
The goal of the training is to test readiness as well as hone emergency medical skills among the participating service members. One simulation presented the participants with an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) attack on a troop transport that resulted in 16 casualties. The role players required triage at the point of injury in the training area, then airlifted back to the WACH on Fort Irwin for treatment. This was a large-scale training module that involved complex planning.
To make the exercise as authentic as possible training units had no warning of what they would encounter throughout the course of the event and participants were alerted only as the scenario unfolded, just as if the casualties and events were real. Large casualty events of this kind take a special type of planning coordination, material and geography to execute, and even more consideration to undertake, which makes the NTC an ideal venue for such training.
The 2916th assumed the role of air medevac, requiring multiple airlifts to bring all casualties back to the WACH, where staff members prioritized, stabilized and treated the mock casualties, then prepared to fly any they determined needing specialized care beyond WACH capabilities to other nearby available medical facilities for more extensive treatment.

From Wikipedia: Military Payment Certificates, or MPC, were used from the end of World War II until the end of the Vietnam War, between the years 1946 and 1973. MPC's utilized layers of line lithography to create colorful banknotes that could be produced cheaply. Fifteen series of MPC's were created but only 13 series were issued.
