Unplug from the screens and engage your kids in the adventure of experiential learning. Here in this 4,000-square-foot space specially designed for our pint-sized playmates, children can stretch out and explore the elements of nature at their own pace. Rosemary, scented geranium, oregano, and other fragrant herbs line the ramp, piquing their senses as they bounce along to the rhythms of cascading waterfalls and child-sized fountains featuring a menagerie of creatures. A bamboo maze and a dripping cave provide an element of discovery and surprise. Hidden bugs wait to be spotted in the architecture, set to the backdrop of colorful mosaic tiles. Many of our guests have been bringing their children here for years, and adults who came here when they were young still fondly recall how much fun it was to explore this wonderland. After all, what better place to grow up than in a garden?
Having your own tools is the key to many a successful set adventure. Every shot has it's own unique challenges that require there own creative solutions. Almost every shoot I've been on requires some kind of arts and crafts project from tricky lighting flags to fancy armatures that hold tracking markers at just the right place. You can't always count on your grip brothers to lend you there Leatherman so best be bringing you own.

"I will use less energy," says the grimly-determined guy on the left.
"I will unplug stuff more," says the angry, angry woman in the middle.
"I will leave the car at home more," says the deliriously-happy woman on the right.
Unsurprisingly, this greenwash campaign is courtesy of an oil company. The only way to be happy is to continue driving. Just not "more" ... whatever that means.
(Tip to cheer up the woman in the middle: Power strips and surge protectors are an easier way to keep appliances from sucking up your electricity. Plus, you're so very radiant, so maybe you could convince the oil company to stop wasting electricity lighting up your face in bus shelters all night.)
Update: The angry but radiant woman in the middle has altered her resolve. In more recent ads she is vowing to get a programmable thermostat.
My wife and I decided that the best way to unplug from our lives was to get on a boat and get as far away as we can! We got to enjoy to sights and sounds that our southern country of Mexico had to offer aboard the Carnival Fantasy Cruise liner. And, I got to try my hand in street photography using vintage lenses. Honestly one of the best vacations to date, and we are looking forward to going back!

Here's the final series of this little drawing series on the Cintiq and and yes the cars featured in the illustration is indeed a Chevy Volt and Nissan Leaf. Of course for the billboard I did an illustration of Archibald looking at all the photographs I have taken in the past years and even this year....and oh yeah those posters? I did those in Phoster...it's a combination of my art and photos.

I was lucky enough to hang with Isla on Friday night. She is getting cuter by the minute. She learned how to unplug her baby bath last night and thought it was very clever!
Members of the Manhole Workers Union in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, at work on a clogged sewer. If the pole doesn't work, one with strip-off and jump in to unplug it by hand. With no zoning in the Canadian sense, the sewers contain a mix of industrial and residential wastes. The Union's members, not surprisingly, suffer from high rates of injury and death due to work-related causes. The bike is the repair vehicle the workers are given, the poles on it their tools.
